[Sp]I would not be surprised if he wrote "Will not stop focusing on writing manga until it is finished" on his ass or something. I do like how EoH used the same mechanic as that one jojo novel about the 36 universe resets, probably some sort of callback.[/sp]
[sp]stand abilities don't normally affect owners, remember? that's why dio can move while time is frozen, crazy diamond can't heal josuke and rohan can look at his own drawings without turning into a book[/sp]
[sp]Rohan could just write "Rohan is immortal, this is a true fact" in someone's 'book' and he'd be invincible. Heaven's Door is fucking broken as hell, as it's not limited to small things like subconscious commands, but real, physical events in the universe[/sp]
[sp]At one point he makes Josuke fly away at some ridiculous speed[/sp]
[sp]That was Koichi in Kishibe Rohan's Adventure[/sp]
[sp]That was Koichi in Kishibe Rohan's Adventure[/sp]
[sp]He does that to make Josuke escape the room with Highway Star[/sp] [editline]3rd July 2016[/editline]
i'd assume that [sp]since rohan is writing in memories, he can't do anything that the person he's writing in can't do[/sp] then again it's been a while since i read part 4
[sp]It's not just memories, it's also commands. Though I do think it has limitations that aren't explored[/sp]
He can [sp]write on himself, it's established in Rohan at the Louvre where he writes on his hand to narrowly avoid death[/sp]
i dont think rohan at the louvre counts as canon, otherwise he could've just [sp]written cheap trick off himself right away, written himself out of highway star's trap, etc[/sp] but if it does that's pretty dumb honestly that'd make him even more unbeatable than GER so there's no reason he could ever be in danger
I think Rohan lacks the style of thinking to allow himself to do that kind of stuff. Like how The Hand one of the most powerful stands in terms of what it can do, but Okuyasu is too dumb to get creative.
i dont think rohan at the louvre counts as canon, otherwise he could've just [sp]written cheap trick off himself right away, written himself out of highway star's trap, etc[/sp] but if it does that's pretty dumb honestly that'd make him even more unbeatable than GER so there's no reason he could ever be in danger
Why don't you think it's canon? [sp]And I don't think it's possible for him write something on him self that has an effect on others. Why then would he write on people when he can just write on himself?[/sp] [editline]3rd July 2016[/editline]
then it still wouldn't make sense that he'd do it in louvre but not in any of the other encounters and besides, [sp]writing "i can not be harmed by stands"[/sp] doesn't require much thinking
I think the reason he does it is because it's not possible for him to do so. [sp]He's probably pretty limited considering it took him a while to figure out how to get his stand out of his own comics[/sp]
Why don't you think it's canon? [sp]And I don't think it's possible for him write something on him self that has an effect on others. Why then would he write on people when he can just write on himself?[/sp]
because it just feels more like an extra side-story than an actual event in the jojo universe to me the same applies to the other rohan short stories too, they just feel too disconnected from what jojo is usually like (i still like them a lot regardless, mind you) and even if that's true, why couldn't he just [sp]write "i can not be harmed by attacks" on himself? it would only affect his reaction instead of an attack actually happening[/sp] i just think it's a bit silly that if he could just use his stand on himself, then why doesn't he do it once during the entirety of part 4? [editline]3rd July 2016[/editline] araki is not exactly the best and most consistent writer but i'd like to believe he'd consider giving Heaven's Door a weakness like that, especially since it would make complete sense with the way stands work and would stop him from being completely unstoppable
and even if that's true, why couldn't he just [sp]write "i can not be harmed by attacks" on himself? it would only affect his reaction instead of an attack actually happening[/sp] i just think it's a bit silly that if he could just use his stand on himself, then why doesn't he do it once during the entirety of part 4?
Maybe his stand just doesn't work like that, maybe it does have some limitations?
Maybe his stand just doesn't work like that, maybe it does have some limitations?
sure, it's possible, but it's still odd that if he can do it, then why doesn't he during part 4 plus since no limits are specified, the most obvious one is the one i'd go for
I'm pretty sure stands can't use their abilities on their own users, since Josuke can't heal himself
i already brought that up
[sp]stand abilities don't normally affect owners, remember? that's why dio can move while time is frozen, crazy diamond can't heal josuke and rohan can look at his own drawings without turning into a book[/sp]

He can [sp]write on himself, it's established in Rohan at the Louvre where he writes on his hand to narrowly avoid death[/sp]
The way I see it is that [sp]Heaven's Door is officially OP as fuck but if Araki wrote Rohan using it to its full potential then everything would be boring[/sp]
sure, it's possible, but it's still odd that if he can do it, then why doesn't he during part 4 plus since no limits are specified, the most obvious one is the one i'd go for
It's not really odd if he either has those limitations, or just don't have the ability. [sp]I mean, his stand evolved from paper, to drawing in the air, to "physical" form during the course of part 4[/sp] [sp]Also, there are probably things that aren't stated yet too[/sp]
iirc isn't one of the limitations that [sp]the words come off after a while so the commands aren't permanent?[/sp] But the case still stands with [sp]Rohan giving himself invincibility by writing in himself. To be honest I don't remember him doing that in the official manga and if he actually did have that power he could've just written "I can find all the serial killers in town" in him and kicked Kira's ass.[/sp]

I always figured that the in-universe reason Rohan doesn't use his stand to become disgustingly OP is a combination of his excessive pride and his obsession with "reality". It's like how he refuses to use his stand to figure out how Josuke cheated in their dice game, despite the fact that it would take practically no effort at all to do so. He could probably rewrite reality to become the God Emperor of Earth or anything he wants, but he just doesn't want to.
i already brought that up
By the way, in the comic [sp]writing on himself is shown as something he didn't know he could do and would have never tried. It also takes place after Part 4 which explains why he didn't do it back then. He's in the process of dying and as a last ditch move tries it and it works. I don't think he can do anything crazy like "Kishibe Rohan is immortal" "Kishibe Rohan is omniscient" etc.[/sp]
it's silly that such a creative person never thought of trying to read or write on himself but i'll take it
Rohan's pride and sense of self-importance tend to bite him in the ass.
I'm pretty sure stands can't use their abilities on their own users, since Josuke can't heal himself
What about Purple Haze, Sticky Fingers and Gold Experience?
What about Purple Haze, Sticky Fingers and Gold Experience?
Did Purple Haze actually have an effect on [sp]Fugo? Can't really remember anything other than him not being able to control the disease[/sp] [sp]I think with GE it's just a fortunate side effect of its ability.[/sp] It's probably just a specific thing with their power. Some can and some can't, the end.

If anyone's wondering what Limp Bizkit's localized name is, its Flaccid Pancake Not even joking [editline]3rd July 2016[/editline] Also part 6 spoilers
that's fucking incredible.
Did they even try
