i mean that the sound effects for this finale were way more subdued than the other 3 opening themes. the world showing up more was Neat, but the real punch of it was dio stopping time in the version we already saw last week

First is a torrent download, second is viewing the pages on the site. Have fun!
One episode. I was just gonna watch one episode to see what the fuss was about.
Now I can't stop watching it. Thanks a lot.

One episode of what by the way.
Stardust Crusaders or the 2012 one?

If Phantom Blood ep1 was enough to hook him then I don't even know what to think.

Yeah that's what i was thinking.

Added to the OP, thanks.
If Phantom Blood ep1 was enough to hook him then I don't even know what to think.
...it was.
Maybe it was because I was very bored. I guess it was actually Phantom Blood ep 2 that made me think "Hey, maybe I should see the next one."
Phantom Blood episode 1 was enough for me too, I still prefer the anime adaption of part 1 and 2 over 3. i kinda missed the zombies in 3.
I'm on Battle Tendency right now. This shit's whack, yo.
i got "hooked" on jojo with ep1 of PB as well, but it wasn't until ep1 of BT that jojo fever started kicking in
Also, I don't know anyone else's opinion on this, but I prefer English dubs over reading subtitles. I especially think it would be useful here, with a bunch of nationalities, and characters mentioning other characters' accents.
I didn't get hooked until after Jonathan first defeats Dio in the mansion, when Zeppeli arrives with hamon.
I was confused when I first watched it because my only other experience with Jojo was with playing HTTF in an arcade and I was wondering where all the stands were. I guess I should be thanking my girlfriend for getting me into Jojo though.

If Zeppeli had hamon, where did the cheese go?
i got "hooked" on jojo with ep1 of PB as well, but it wasn't until ep1 of BT that jojo fever started kicking in
Yeah I was kinda just watching it because my friends were, and then the scene where he shoots the fuck out of Straights with a Tommy gun made me go "Alright this shit is great."
So now that it's over, I'm actually kind of disappointed in how the latter half of the SC anime went as a whole. Pacing just seemed way off, particularly when compared to the first two parts, and even the tarot arc. Disappointed in the first D'arby fight's adaptation, disappointed in the handling of the final episodes...
That said, they weren't bad at all. It was really great, but I feel like the manga just worked better.
[sp]Also the OVA's confrontation with Dio was overall better imo, barring the lack of road roller.[/sp]

It was enough to hook me. I dunno why you guys shit on Phantom Blood so much, I thought it was not too shabby.

the problem with PB is that it's just okay
when compared to the rest of the jojo parts "just okay" might as well be "shit"

Cause of that sick Sonochi No Sadame.
To me Phantom Blood felt completely different in tone to Battle Tendency. The only thing I knew about the jojos before watching the anime was that PB had been tagged "horror" and "mystery". The switch from Jonathan to Joseph threw me off, and then he dressed in drag??? and the tequila???
Only later did I understand that that's what it was supposed to be like all along.
Cause of that sick Sonochi No Sadame.
roundabout too. that's what sold me
As for me, first EPs of phantom blood felt a bit boring, but after those and the start of Part 2 i got really hooked on this, and i really hate myself for watching part 2-3 too fast (i did control that a bit, stopped watching after 40th till final ep is released) and got myself into waiting for new episodes.
Battle Tendency is still probably my favorite part.
Battle Tendency is still probably my favorite part.
I can tell the same, for me it was a bit more interesting with hamon and how Joseph acted.
Battle Tendency is still probably my favorite part.
It's funny, part 2 probably has my least favourite villains but Joseph just steals the show and propels it to the #1 spot for me.
for me, 4 and 7 are my favorites closely followed by 2, then 3 and 5, then 8 and 6 and then finally 1

It's a real shame that the stand he was given forced him into a support role for most of part 3. I missed all his wacky battle antics, and it was a godsend the couple of times he got to fight in Part 3.

There was something special about 4 and 7.
4 7 5 6 3 2 1.
