JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: You can't escape now! You super retard!

Finished the third arc via Crunchyroll. Apparently the forth arc isn't avalible, but I can choose the read the manga. That being said, I really did love the JoJo anime. I think I loved it to the point of waiting on the anime adaption of the forth arc. The atmosphere the anime had was just unmatched. Openings, endings, the soundtrack, it's a part of the experience for me.
Stardust Crusaders, in my opinion, in one of the strongest arcs any Shonen has ever had. It's one of those cases, in my humble opinion, where the actual story is very simple and perhaps not the most engaging on it's own, but the character development is the real star.
Going to go into spoiler world so avoid this if you haven't finished Stardust Crusaders.
[sp]Polnareff is a fantastic example of this. I really liked him, but I knew in my heart that he wasn't going to make it. He felt like the kind of guy who'd go out in a hail of bullets when outmatched. His stand, which I thought was really cool, did seem like the kind to get outclassed easily. But towards the end of the series he felt really different, as though at some point I stopped looking at him as one of the weaker stand users and more-so as one of the strongest and smartest in his group. Well, even if he gets upset too easily to throws tact into the winds. I like whenever a series sort of makes you unconsciously shift your view of a character, regardless of how minor it seems. I think it's awesome. [/sp]
Anyway, I don't know how long I have to wait for the forth part to be all anime'd up, but I'll wait patiently for it to be updated on Crunchyroll when the time comes. I know little to nothing about anime so Crunchyroll is nice and simple to use.
hey since its the first page of the thread, let me post my simple guide on "Hey, I just got into the JoJo's anime, when should I start reading the manga?"
question: do you know what dio's stand does?
if no, i recommend sticking with the anime until part 3 is over. the buildup to it is great, and not too far off in the future. i can only imagine it will be better in the show
if yes, yeah go ahead. i still would personally wait til part 3 is over, but you're not going to really ruin anything for yourself by that point.
and dont bother waiting for the inevitable part 4 anime, that probably wont be for a while and it's a fantastic read anyway
Just go and read the manga.

Go read the manga on Bato.to. If you thought Stardust Crusaders was really good, you're going to love the rest even more.
The anime is 1:1 with the manga anyways.
I guess so.
I guess I just love the audio of the show, and the way so many of the tracks REALLLLLY add to the scenes. (Er, this link might be a bit spoilery for the first arc)
That being said, you're all probably right. The wait for all the other arcs to become animated would take forever and a day anyway.

Yeah, the use of Roundabout was fucking inspired, and certain parts of the OST were really effective too, in recent memory [sp]Vanilla ice ambushing Avdol and Polnareff getting cornered also by Vanilla ice[/sp]
Anyway I've read through all parts about three times, and each part is a unique experience in itself much like the anime, I'd recommend reading the rest too
also they're Parts
please stop calling them arcs
it's a dumb little pet peeve but still

Yeah buddy, reading the manga also gives you the satisfaction of seeing your favorite parts animated later. Plus, it's interesting to see some of the small changes they make when they animate it. For example, in the manga, DIO appears to Polnareff with an eagle or a hawk on his shoulder. In the anime, it's[sp]Pet Shop.[/sp]
Started the JoJo manga from the beginning, because why the heck not.
I went to that Batoto website, and my goodness it's all in color and it looks amazing. The artstyle is fantastic.

Just a warning, not all colored parts are fully translated.
I wonder why they changed up some of the voice actors of characters that haven't yet been animated in EoH.
Eyes of Heaven Pucci reminds me of the priest in Fate/Stay Night way too much

I wonder if they are keeping Polnareff's VA, and if they do and add character customization, weather or not he can get a suit and an afro.

IIRC All Star Battle Pucci has Heritage For The Future Vanilla Ice's voice actor doing nearly the same voice, and since he voiced Vanilla Ice in the anime they probably wanted the two to sound distinct.

Oh. Good to know; reading Japanese is like pulling teeth.
I can't believe I never heard of this series sooner. It's just so good.
Darn people keep telling me to read the manga, you don't get to hear the hammy voice acting, soundtrack, and dramatic sounds if you read the manga.
That's really fucking neat (it really is), but read the manga.
It's awesome*.
*Personal experience from reading Part 4, your mileage may vary
Darn people keep telling me to read the manga, you don't get to hear the hammy voice acting, soundtrack, and dramatic sounds if you read the manga.
You don't get to hear any hammy voice acting, the soundtrack, or dramatic effects if you watch the Part 4 anime because there isn't a Part 4 anime. Read the manga.
Darn people keep telling me to read the manga, you don't get to hear the hammy voice acting, soundtrack, and dramatic sounds if you read the manga.
But you don't get 5/8 of the series with the anime.
Darn people keep telling me to read the manga, you don't get to hear the hammy voice acting, soundtrack, and dramatic sounds if you read the manga.
Yeah you do, you just have to have a brain that works my man
I mean everyone knows okuyasu is Christopher Sabat doin his kuwabara voice
I'm new to this, it looks kinda fun and crazy, but it also looks very gay. But I know anime can be wierd.
That's pretty much why I put Madonna song in the OP.
I'm new to this, it looks kinda fun and crazy, but it also looks very gay. But I know anime can be wierd.
The way I see it is that it's disassociated the homoerotic aesthetic from actual homoeroticism, and god damn it looks good

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.
I think this is one universally agreed upon thing that no one really discusses
Everyone just naturally comes to the same conclusion
Haha well that sounds good, I'm gonna check out the anime soon. Maybe right now!
Just finished the Phantom Blood, the artwork is SOOOOOO good and timeless. I really like it. The anime really is super faithful in terms of the style and spirit of the books.
