Is Kira's "I had a boner" line the actual translation? Or is it a poor translation from Duwang that stuck?
A lot of memetic lines from Duwang wormed their way into the popular English translations. "I'm having a very complicated feeling..." "Your feeling I can feel deeply." "What a lovely Morioh!" and such.
Is Kira's "I had a boner" line the actual translation? Or is it a poor translation from Duwang that stuck?
It's one of the few lines Duwang got right.

It's a rather well made translation from Duwang that stuck because boner sounds funnier than erection.

Nintendo just made a JoJo reference on Japan's Badge Arcade.
So, I just finished reading Part 7 and I've done my personal rankings:
PARTS: 4 > 2 > 7 > 6 > 5 > 1 > 3
JOJOS: Jolyne > Joseph > Giorno > Josuke > Johnny > Jotaro > Jonathan
VILLAINS: Kira > Pillarmen > Diavolo > P1 Dio > Funny Valentine > P3 Dio > Pucci
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Stroheim > Narancia > Diego > Okuyasu > Foo Fighters > Speedwagon > Kakyoin
Incidentally, I may or may not have a crush on Narancia and Diego
Should I read the manga or just wait for part 4 to come out?
Should I read the manga or just wait for part 4 to come out?
Just read it. You can then continue on to the other parts afterwards. Part 4 is my favorite part and I can't wait to finally see it animated.
Should I read the manga or just wait for part 4 to come out?
Its often a bad idea to ask that question to JoJo fans.
Its up to you honestly, i'm assuming the anime will be accurate as fuck, so if manga reading isn't your thing then wait. Its just going to be the story twice after all.
But of course if you're like me and don't like waiting, then go ahead.
So I just started the 2012 anime, what are the differences between that one and the 2000 anime?
So I just started the 2012 anime, what are the differences between that one and the 2000 anime?
Doesn't cover the same material and is not complete garbage
So I just started the 2012 anime, what are the differences between that one and the 2000 anime?
the 1993 OVAs adapt the second half of Jojo Part 3, the 2000 OVAs adapt the first half of Part 3
the 2012 anime adapts Parts 1 and 2, and the 2014 and 2015 Stardust Crusaders anime adapt Part 3
the OVA adaptations are poor in most respects, they skip 75% of Part 3 and change most of what they do actually adapt, the 1993 OVA has great animation and the final fight is fun to watch, but as a Jojo anime it fails in most respects, especially in terms of atmosphere
watching the 2012 anime and then the modern adaptation of Stardust Crusaders by the same team is what most people would recommend, you can watch the OVAs afterwards to see some cool action, but don't expect much outside of that

Oh shit, it's actually called[sp]Killer Queen. And it can use small versions of Sheer Heart Attack.[/sp]
Fucking awesome

this chapter was a lot more gripping than most of jojolion so far, i feel
it's probably thanks to the fact that it's a very simple but well done setup
it has a clear goal, a clear opposition, clear motivations, an easy-to-sympathize with motivation, characters i can easily relate to and care about and it even sets up the relationship between [sp]josefumi and kira[/sp] in a quick but easy to understand way
we dont really get that with most of jojolion since it's more mystery based, but it's not really working for me honestly, so i'm glad these chapters about [sp]josefumi and kira[/sp] are more straightforward
I really hope someone redubs the part 4 anime with duwang dialogue

And twice as fabolous as [sp]the original Killer Queen[/sp]
I think the [sp]grafting[/sp] ability Josefumi shows could prove really handy for Josuke later.
I'm actually really surprised they're continuing to adapt JoJo past part 3. For some reason I thought they'd just stop after Stardust.
Now all we need is a JoJo level adaptation of Berserk.

Funny you should say that, I'm rereading Berserk in its entirety right now
Thing is JoJo was pretty much perfect for anime (it can be colorful as fuck), while I think a Berserk anime wouldn't do the visuals justice, i.e. the incredible detail and the speed lines/stylisation (I've seen some footage of I think the third movie? But the 3D effects don't draw me in at all, they look too goofy)
It would have to be 2D, and would probably take as much time as the manga itself, but I'm off topic enough already

the flashes up thru jolyne in the season 1 op were enough to convince me otherwise

:snip:
OK, considering Jojo's running trope of terrible fathers, who would you say is JJBA's worst Dad?
George Joestar - Actively bitched out his son in favor of a manipulative usurper
Jonathan Joestar - too dead to dad
Jorge Joestar - also too dead to dad
Zeppeli's Dad - Vampire
Caesar's Dad - Absent
Jotaro's Dad - Absent
Joseph Joestar - [sp]was an ok dad to the one child he actually bothered to raise.[/sp]
[sp]Jotaro Kujoh[/sp] - too absent to dad
Jojolion Dad - ???
[sp]Dio Brando[/sp] - how long have you got
Johnny's Dad - [sp]son is too dead to dad[/sp]
Dio's Dad - tried to get his son to sell his dead wife's dress for booze money
Kira's Dad - [sp]Was a flying photograph shooting arrows at people.[/sp]
Gyro's Dad - probably the closest to a 'good dad' but still not father of the year material IIRC
Diego's Dad - [sp]Tried to abandon a baby, was a drunk, abandoned Diego's mother as well[/sp]
