my friend has been bugging me to watch this and it was either give in or kill him and he's bigger than me so where would be the best place to start. He claims the first season isnt worth it but i dunno if id be missing anything important? What do you suggest.
Watch all of it- even if you don't like part 1, part 2 almost certainly makes up for it (as both are in season 1). Go to crunchyroll, hit the jjba icon on the right, and hit "start watching". You won't regret it.

Watch the re-edited versions on crunchyroll for the first 2 parts.

The first season is definitely worth it, just keep in mind that the tone changes massively in future parts so it's worth sticking around even if it doesn't seem like your cup of tea.

All parts can be traced back to part one (7 and 8 indirectly, so it it is a pretty big thing
I'm honestly interested to see how a lot of the anime-only fans are going to react to seeing a beloved character [sp]return suffering from senility if not the beginnings of outright dementia.[/sp]
[sp]I personally found it difficult to see the outgoing and larger-than-life personality of Joseph sort of wither away into the frail old man of Part 4. Of course he's still got some spark left in him and he's still a great guy, but there's no doubt that he's not the man he used to be.[/sp]

why would you ever want anyone to watch a shorter version of part 2
why would you ever want anyone to watch a shorter version of part 2
it barely cuts anything out but it sure is useful for pt 1
it barely cuts anything out but it sure is useful for pt 1
if it barely cuts anything out then why not just watch the normal version

I was pretty much 100% convinced that he was just taking the piss the whole time. Even if that isn't the case, it's what I choose to believe.
I still don't understand why people are confused by it.
It just works.
Thinking about it like [sp]The World++[/sp] helps a lot.

I'm pretty sure most of it was an act and he drops it during Achtung Baby arc.
The whole market thing was mostly because Japanese monetary system is confusing for westerners.
He's however still way more frail than in his prime.
I still can't get over how 90's the opening is. It's perfect.
Even though the new intro isn't nearly as much of a visual spectacle compared to the others, I still rather like DiU's OP. It feels less like an epic quest and more down to earth, which is kind of fitting for the first half of DiU.
Though I wonder if it will have a tone shift once[sp]Kira[/sp]is introduced and have some kind of[sp]Bites the Dust[/sp]shenanigans happen near the end.

I haven't read the manga, so I don't know exactly when [sp]Kira[/sp] shows up, but I assume that when they do it'll be time for a new OP, which will most definitely have some sort of tone shift.
[sp]I want to bet that ABTD will be hidden until the first use of it, where it will restart the episode from the start, intro and all- Feels like a pretty easy decision to make on their part.[/sp]
I haven't read the manga
You haven't WHAT?!
Well I just started reading the part 4 manga
[sp]Jesus fucking Christ Kira is an asshole [/sp]
Don't be mean to him he just wants a peaceful life
Kira did nothing wrong.
[Sp]I love how they opened Ep1 with a nod to him - people who haven't read the manga are gonna have that on their minds for a while[/Sp]

[sp]actually i'd say the opposite. if you didn't know anything about kira, all it would feel like would be mood establishment[/sp]

read the manga even though half the reason to watch jojo is the amazingly over the top sound direction
read the manga even though half the reason to watch jojo is the amazingly over the top sound direction
I think the people reading it in the 80s and 90s got along just fine without sound effects.

I really like how the anime handled Parts 5, 6, 7, and 8.
(Spoilers for what King Crimson actually does in the video since the guy mentions it)

it doesn't [sp]erase time[/sp] it [sp]erases everyone else's perception of the period of time so that they don't remember anything that happens within that space of time[/sp]
just like that one futurama episode :v:
[editline]10th April 2016[/editline]
I can't wait for the part 5 adaption to just fuck peoples' heads

[Sp]It erases time though. Bullets shot at someone teleport behind them, chocolates end up in stomach without passing through the mouth.
Crimson's King power is a literal smash cut.[/sp]
first season is one of the best so far. kill him
He could be talking about Part 1, which is pretty much just pre-apocalypse Fist of The North Star with vampires. You still shouldn't skip it because it's pretty much the most important to the story.
