It's not that it's a Ford, you're just joining the truck master race the wrong way. A Ranger isn't a truck, it's an excuse.
Get a fullsize Bronco or something if you want to bro up with Conk.
That Jeep eats rangers for breakfast and shits 2.9 V6s the next morning.

Rabbit like VW rabbit? What do you mean no liek? I'm going hopefully tomorrow to pick one up with a friend. :v
Hey guys, I figure I'll write up a short (as short as possible) overview of what my E38's been doing and see if maybe someone can connect the dots and suggest a likely culprit. So just to confirm - this is a 1996 BMW 730iL, which is the 3.0L V8. It's had both post-cat o2 sensors replaced recently, along with Valve Cover Gaskets, rear rotors and washer pump.
What it's basically doing is this; whenever I turn it on cold, it fires up, sits at a perfectly normal 800-900rpm for a few seconds, then suddenly drops down to about 400-500rpm for a second or so before returning up slightly to about 600rpm and holding steady. Having the AC on or off doesn't affect this behavior, but I have noticed that turning the headlights on will cause a considerable increase in rpm - usually around 100rpm or so (I get that the load of the headlights would cause this, but it would normally only have ever been about a 20-30rpm increase at best - barely enough to register on the needle).
The next thing it does is that after it's warmed up sufficiently (say, 15 minutes worth of cruisey driving) it can very easily stall when trying to drive into a parking space. It'll either stall the moment you get in and switch into park, or it'll stall out as you switch into or out of reverse while trying to make minor corrections in the parking space. It simply looks as if the revs are getting too low and the engine is cutting out. Having the AC on doesn't change whether it stalls or not either. I know a lot of people find that when they're BMW's get like this, they tend to stall out even just sitting at traffic lights - mine doesn't do this. It holds a perfectly smooth idle otherwise and doesn't give me any other grief.
The final thing it's done happened last night. On my way to another house, the dash flashed up CHECK BRAKE LIGHTS - so I did, and there were no problems with them. I resumed driving and a short while later it came up with CHECK LOW BEAMS - again, no problems with them. After I got to my destination, I came back to the car about an hour later, turned it on, and it once again said CHECK LOW BEAMS - only this time, my passenger side low beam is dead. I haven't taken it out to check if it's blown or if there's something perhaps a bit loose, but the strangeness of it suggesting the brake lights first, followed by the low beams while they were still actually working, makes me wonder if there's an electrical fault with the alternator, battery, or something else...
Anyone got any thoughts they could weigh in? I'm seriously thinking it's going to be some mundane little part somewhere that's gone iffy, but I just don't know precisely where to look. I'm just sort of hoping one of you might read this and go "Hmm, well that almost sounds like X or Y" which might just be the cause. A fresh angle and all, you know? Obviously Facepunch isn't the most auto-centric community out there but, I've been surprised before. Thanks for any help guys :)
And that's really it at the moment. I've cleaned the MAF and that seems to be doing its job just fine, but the car is throwing no error codes, no check engine light... nothing. Other than these few items, it drives like a dream and you wouldn't know there was anything wrong with it.

Sounds like the infamous German car electric problems everyone told me about when I was gonna buy that Audi.
If that's true, it's gonna be hella hard to fix.

Check everything... When I mean everything, I mean the grains of sand in the seats.
The things you said it sounds like the ground might be lose or somthin.
Check the ENTIRE electrical system. Good luck :suicide:

Corvette is tagged and ready to drive!
I have a small water leak to track down and it should be good to go. I'd also like to find out why the coolant temp sensor isn't reading, so it'll probably be tomorrow before I take its first cruise into town.

I did this to my golf a couple of weeks ago:

Shopped

The black looks shit because the car was really dirty but you see that I keep the highlights and body lines which makes it much easier to see how it'll actually look in real life
Do you have more pictures ? maybe from the front ? I would love to fake that 1..
Most recent pic I have now from right after I painted the summer rims:

Also excessive watching of Overhaulin' has made me love ghost flames so I 5-minute shopped this:

Want.
My god
Those are amazing pictures
You have a very beautiful car
