Let's all smoke weed 420 [editline]20th April 2012[/editline] I've decided that instead of buying a new car, I'm going to use that money instead to turn my jeep into a monster truck
Jesus fuck, 186mph and the headlights still work. What caught fire? Fuel line? The engine bay looks fine. http://autofluence.com/manufacturer/germany/bmw/2013-m5-crashes-going-186mph-on-the-autobahn/
At work today me and another guy drove off in a VW Polo Mk5 to go and pick up a car at a shop for respraying. When we arrived I got the dumbest question in history: "Do you want to drive the Polo or the Prius we're picking up back?"

So, a question for you guys. My brake drums are very rusty on the outside (and a bit on the inside as well, but not very much.) The people in my auto class said I should replace the drums- but should I do more? I don't have a picture of the inside right now, but I don't know if I should try bleeding the brakes and/or changing the shoes. Will it save me enough money to do it myself, or just take it to a shop? Or should I just post a picture and get your opinion before I do anything?
I've never seen you posted anything as stupid as this up til this point, shame on you.
I'm serious, I've seen quite a few accidents just caused by them being idiots. In Europe, you have to go through extensive tests, unlike here where it's a joke. There are reasons we don't have fast highways here, people aren't smart enough to drive on them safely.
So I was driving my car to a friends place and nothing seemed wrong. I spent the afternoon there and when I went to start my car the exhaust sounded a hell of a lot louder than before. Reason: I don't know why but they put a weird-ass spring loaded flange between the muffler and catalytic converter even though the whole thing is already suspended by rubber. Could of just bolted it together. As you can see the welds on the converter side broke all the way around. I don't have the tools to weld it back on because it will require removing the converter and I know those bolts will be IMPOSSIBLE to remove with a hacksaw but would it be easier to use that flexible metal mesh tube stuff (think finger traps) and just cut off the other side of the flange, slip it on and clamp it in?

It would hit the underside of the car a lot. All exhaust systems have a flex point, be it the spring loaded bolts (which is the most common, even my Civic uses the spring bolts) or a flex pipe (which is a newer method of weaved steel pipe that bends). It's not uncommon for those to break but they are tons cheaper to replace than a flex pipe, and safer too.
You have to be over 25 years old for pretty much any rental company. The only way you can drive a rental car is if someone over the age of 25 rents the car, and you're on the same insurance plan as them. Otherwise, you're SOL.
The best I can find so far is $503 for a Chevvy Aveo Sedan for 5 days & $362 for a Hyundai Accent sedan for 5 days. :/
Yes because yurop never has accidents You're a retard
This is hopeless, all I am saying is that europe has better trained drivers, so less accidents and less deaths.
If you guys remembered I got an euro spec Volkswagen Scirocco of $500 well... I found out that when I get sent home I can bring my scirocco with me from Germany, without making any mods, not even changing the speedo. I going to able to cruse around in this classic VW. Also I was coming home from Frankfurt and while I was in 5th gear I thought about trying to hit 200kph ;p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj-jVTwjz0E&feature=youtu.be whatever I can't get embedding to work here's a link.
This is hopeless, all I am saying is that europe has better trained drivers, so less accidents and less deaths.
All typical drivers are mostly the same no matter where you go, skill wise anyway. No test or school can replace hard earned experience.

i hate drum brakes
well that's a profond thought
Well after a while without snow, we've had some tonight! And being on my old Khumo summer tires was equal to no traction at all.
Finally got those two damn rings off. 4 months of that horrible sound that made my car sound like shit was eliminated in 5 minutes with a pair of snips. If only I had known sooner...
I'm going to look at this 1990 240sx nearby. KA24E single cam from what I can research. But it seems really sketchy. Seller says car has some sort of engine knock/ticking/noise. Speedometer has been disconnected. I called him, says it's by 125,000 mileage. Might be a complete fail lemon car way above 200,000 trying to pass it off. He states he parked it cause he might break the engine more. Thoughts? His price of $1,300 is really alluring. Worth it? Again it's those cases of a really cheap fix or expensive one. From what I am reading KA24E's have this specific part that wears doing a ticking sound. But really I'm going to see for myself tomorrow morning.

thanks for adding it. :D
I'm not a fan of that generation of Mustang. But god this thing sounds awesome.
Sounds like a musting, looks like a mustang. Who cares. Hate the wheels. Not too big a fan of the sound either.
Guys, what are your views on Nissan Murano?
Look-wise, it's kinda eh. Performance-wise, I have no idea. But it's a nissan should be fairly cheap for parts and maintenance [editline]20th April 2012[/editline] I saw a Prius tailgating a Corvette on the highway today, in the fast lane. I was embarassed for that Corvette :v:
Been saving for a dart (this one to be specific: http://saskatchewan.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-1968-Dodge-Dart-GT-W0QQAdIdZ371214636 ) and I have $1000 so far. Going to sell A LOT of scrap metal, like $800 worth to help me get up to the $2000 mark and then my dad will consider going to look at it with me as he says it's a really nice deal for $4000. I also have my suburban up for sale for $1200 so I will have a little extra on the side, maybe save 2 grand so I can get a EFI kit and get some wicked mileage from the car (be happy at 20mpg) but I guess my priorities should be on the body right now.
