Don't know about the attitude of new drivers around these parts, but I get my driver's permit next week.
All my countless hours of practicing how to drive in GTA are about to pay off.
Congrats
Don't hit anyone
Try not to destroy your tires
And do not, under any circumstances, try to be ken block

You'd think with the amount of people here at FP, this subforum would be more active

So many kids you know, not many old enough to drive :v:
Also there's the adults who just don't give a shit about their car, it's just their transport.

I like it how it is. Check it a few times a day, never miss anything.
tell him if he gets a v-6 charger he's wasting his money, might as well get a 4 banger mustang
The charger he's looking at doesn't have a V-6. It's got a 5.7 V8. The SRT8 has a 6.1 V8.
Lady who run stop sign, y umad that i "pull out in front of you".

This is the only part of facepunch that I read. Even though I don't post much, I enjoy reading everyone's stories and opinions and such.
Driving test in a few days, worried as hell. Any tips to calm myself down?
I'm a good driver, but when I panick I make supid mistakes.

Aside from 3 posts, this is the only section of Facepunch I've ever posted in.
That's right, as of now, 3,398 posts in this subforum.
I am seriously looking to buy a car right now.
Toyotas are pretty cheap cars, used! I found a 2001 Celica with ~110k on it for $6000. It's also pretty.
But alas I know nothing about cars and don't know what kinds of things to look for. I'll be heading to dealerships soon, I don't like private party sales.
The prospect of having a car seems very exciting though.
Buy a crown vic brah
Don't panic
guys
i'm gonna
buy a truck
lower it
put truck balls on it
and drag my balls around XDDDD
[editline]25th April 2012[/editline]
No really though
When looking at used cars do I want imports? I heard Hondas and Toyotas are easy and cheap to maintain and can get good miles with good care
Fuck, I want a crown vic, but Sweden :(
Fuck crown vics, I always think it's a cop driving when I see one; it's even worse at night
All the crown vics I can find on CL are dirt cheap.

Only one of those that looked half-good was the 745, but shit son, there is better looking cars anywhere. Look outside of Dalarna as well, if you're going to buy a car, you can take the train there and drive it home, that's what I'm doing if I find a good looking white 745 outside of Stockholm :v:
I never got the deal with hatchbacks, I think they're ugly in 80% of cars. Makes it look like a windowed hearse.

also trucks are god tier because truck.
I've taken the Beetle on a pretty long trip today...
...to the hospital near my sister's house to see my new niece :D
Teach it to like car's
exactly.

I'd get a truck but my dad has one and also fuel economy.
Celica's at the top of my list because good mileage, not ugly, roomy enough for someone like me.

Don't forget to stop at a stop sign less than 30 yards from the DMV like I did. :v:

Front wheel ewww.
I just got a Nissan 240SX. Relatively cheap parts and cheap repair. Rear-wheel drive, doriftu awesomeness. I got a 5-speed with KA24E. Used and new engines for this car are cheap and easy to find. I found an SR20DET for $500, it's that low
For $1,000-2,000 you can get a decent S13 or S14. With your $6,000 you can get an already-reinforced Silvia, (around where I live $3,000 is the average for a decent '93 or '95). It's your decision though.
I want at least a 2000 or higher car (in year, not price.) Not for aesthetic reasons, it's my first car and I'm not expecting a Lamborghini in looks, but because the older the car the more prone to maintenance it is (something I don't know a whole lot about and after the purchase won't have a lot of income to fund)
