I know some of you check other threads and some of you just hang out here. So without reposting it here; I just got in an accident. Details are over in the photos thread if you're interested.
Oh wow, sorry about that Justin. If your RX7 really has frame damage like you said, perhaps it's time to get a new shell and move all the machinery into it. I'd think it'd cost more to fix up everything that's broken than to switch into a more stable platform. I know that for a fact shells cost pennies around where I live, $500.
I love the way a cummins or detroit sounds but i only like stacks on 1st gen cummins and post 1988 ford/chevy's gah PRE 1988 fords/chevys. dem boxes.
fuck me -snip-

I thought about a vert as they are fairly rare and badass, but they are de-tuned and heavy as fuck, iirc they had like 100 hp and weighed tons compaired to the ~150 of the Coupe N/A I've gotta wait and see what the insurance companies want to do before i can dig into it and see what kind of damage it has. At the very least it'll need new wheels (again), new tranny, frame pull if possible...engine SOUNDS fine, but it's the rear end that took the blow really. Not sure about any of the suspension components driveshaft etc. etc... I'll have to take a look once they sort the shit out.

I've owned 3 separate 'verts now, they're always heavier, the chassis is less stiff, and you have leaks and other shiet to worry about. Plus they're much easier to break into, and new tops aren't cheap.
I love the way a cummins or detroit sounds but i only like stacks on 1st gen cummins and post 1988 ford/chevy's
Mine sounds like a first gen cummins because its a 1997 before they introduced the 24v commonrail 6.7. The first and second gen pickups have the same exact engine the 12v pre 97' dating back to 92'
According to my dad indy is full of douch bags, my dad sent in his new predator heads to get CNC ported and their program fucked up and now he has to shell another grand out for new exhaust seats on BRAND NEW HEADS. He told me another story of how a guy owned a Indy block and it was a bad cast (bubbles in the metal) so he sent it in and they welded it up (he expected them to replace the block) for a grand ($1000 to ship round trip and a thou for the work), something he could have done for a tenth of the cost.

I hear good things about Dart but they don't make Mopar.
but looks like a pile of dodge cock
Naw i'd love to have that rig over mine, First Gens with no rust are the hardest damn things to come by anymore.
I hear you, I got lucky with my truck [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/51e6810c.jpg[/thumb] Needs new rockers and quarters though
I think i woreded my posts badly. I think all newer trucks look like piles of cock and that 1st gen cummins as such that i posted are sexy.. unless you guys got that.
Times like these I wish I was a moderator for AA. I think both of you need a little time out.
We have a report feature. If you're interested in taking care of trolls, show it by using it. Thank you to those of you that actually DID use the report feature.
We have a report feature. If you're interested in taking care of trolls, show it by using it. Thank you to those of you that actually DID use the report feature.
Remember this is just like golf. People will always honk at you when you try to swing.
We have a report feature. If you're interested in taking care of trolls, show it by using it. Thank you to those of you that actually DID use the report feature.
I use the report feature all the time. You don't have to tell me how to be a productive member of Facepunch -- I'm trying my best already. By the time I jumped in the argument here I was certain it was in the process of being handled already. No need to shove it down the moderators throats' with continued reporting. Reporting posts in a forum section that no moderators visit (excluding Banned User, but he does very little moderating here) is kind of slow and tedious. If there was an active moderator in AA I think it'd be a little nicer place is all. Case in point: This "handling" of the situation you've performed is far after the event occured. That's a little unacceptable in my book. But it's not my forum and I have no say in it really, so I guess I'll take this with a grain of salt, and my dream of a not-so terribly moderated AA is still unreachable.
Uh don't decide not to report someone because you think other people have already reported it. It takes multiple reports for one to display, so shit gets dealt with far faster if everyone reports it. It literally has no negative affect on us if a post has a ton of reports on it, we don't get spammed with anything. We do have a number of mods that visit this section. Just because they don't post a lot doesn't mean they aren't here. And I took care of it the next day. That's really not that bad. But again, if you wanted it dealt with faster, just report faster.
just bought a ebay header, next paycheck i'm getting my exhaust.
I wasn't aware that was how the report system worked. I'll keep it in mind for later. No one has ever explained it to me. On my website's forum the report function would stack up multiple reports. My moderators had to wade through them. *shrug* Still, 24+ hours to hand out a couple bans. Really? Where were all these moderators that apparently lurk here? I'm not mad or anything, I think it was handled okay, but don't call me out like that. I feel like you picked on me to make up for the lack of speed in moderation. I'm sure there's a lot of topics for the forum's moderators to sift through and, well, moderate. So I can't really press on the issue too much. We're tiny compared to the rest of facepunch. But after making almost 4,000 posts in basically just this section of the forums I've grown to like it here. So I just want it to be a nice place. All this hate between users needs to go away. Everyone here needs to chill. There are the good users, who are good usually, and then there are the bad users, who are complete asswads 90% of the time. This pretty much sums up everything I want to say on the matter. Now that it's over I think it's best we move on. Bickering about moderation and stuff won't get us anywhere. So My dad's been looking to get my mom a new car. She is really leaning towards a Dodge Caliber, but I think they are garbage Neons in drag. I'm trying to find a decent 1996-2000 Civic to throw at her so she'll get into a Honda. But I can't find a nice one. My dad wants her to have stuff he likes. Which is silly. He showed her a really nice G-body but she promptly turned her nose up at it. I can imagine why. My mom isn't the kind of person to drive an old american boat. She needs a tiny commuter car.
Still, 24+ hours to hand out a couple bans. Really? Where were all these moderators that apparently lurk here?
Like i said, if you really want something deal with RIGHT AWAY, then report it RIGHT AWAY. It's really a simple solution.
Like i said, if you really want something deal with RIGHT AWAY, then report it RIGHT AWAY. It's really a simple solution.
Alright, enough getting off topic. Bradley, you should PM a mod if you need clarification. And thanks for the explanation postal. Anyone going cruisin tonight? I'm thinking about it but I'm enjoying relaxing at home too. Hmm.
lol its a forum, not like a domestic disturbance case. they got banned eventually
general discussion V5: Arguing central general discussion V5: Mods don't like us talking about cars
Drama is exciting every now and then, it's just a forum.
I have near $2500 saved right now, $1500 in hand I'm pretty sure and Ill be getting $1000 for the suburban on Monday or Tuesday. I cannot wait till I get a dart, there is 2 on kijiji right now that I can choose from that are in my price range. First is a 1968, very complete and is probably the best route for $3200 ($2750 easy), green, console auto, complete interior, nice and straight, like a granny car. Most likely has a 318 in it currently which is an Ok engine to putter around with but I might dump $500 into the engine so I can at least have a little fun around town while I get some money together. The other is a 1969 with 1967 interior but it has a cool fiberglass hood, B&M shifter, and some engine mods so it would be fun for a while till a 440 gets swapped in, $2500 (maybe $2000 for it depending on what it looks like in person). My plan for the vehicle is to fix all the rust, get the body work done, drive it around with the stock engine while I get the 440 together, once that's done paint it. After all of that is done It will be caged and a twin turbo R3 thrown into it. The turbos will be run through the 2 inner holes in the grille (see picture, only on the 1968 though). More than likely going to go with the 1968 because overall its less of a hassle than the other car (words of my dad are "hasn't been fucked with") but it wont hurt to look at it because its only a 20 minute drive. The entire front end will be fiberglass seeing as I may have to replace them anyways and the quarters will be completely repaired. I even have a beefy cam and some wicked cylinder heads so I can have some fun with the stock engine in it. Settin a goal and seeking it out. Also, the green car and the 1968 grille. [thumb]http://imgc.classistatic.com/cps/kjc/120401/204r1/05828dl_20.jpeg[/thumb] The quarter panel actually doesn't look that bad at all but the front will need to be replaced [thumb]http://imgc.classistatic.com/cps/kjc/120401/204r1/9329c06_20.jpeg[/thumb] Run 2 turbos through there, awww yeah. Link for the green car:http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1968-Dodge-Dart-Coupe-W0QQAdIdZ368013962 Blue car:http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1969-Dodge-Dart-GT-Coupe-W0QQAdIdZ372651984 The green car has the same rims as the blue one available on the side but with some silver tougue-ing can probably be had at little to no extra cost, my dad is pretty good at negotiations (managed to get a 340 4 speed dodge demon when he was 18 for $1000).

I'm thinking about it but I'm enjoying relaxing at home too. Hmm.
After work I took a ride to the Garden of The Gods (See cruising thread) for a quick run of the rocks. Fucking moths everywhere though, I had my wipers on because it was raining bugs. Oh, and someone just send me a PM if someones being a jackass, I'll take care of it. [editline]5th May 2012[/editline] AND REPORT, don't just pm me please thanks!
Woo, changed my front door speakers, my Type-E were junk, so now my Type-S are good to go. And I also chopped off my mufflers so I can save a bit on the mechanic time tomorrow to get my new one welded. Straight 3800 = obnoxiously loud. At 3hAM coming back home was pretty much loud as fuck. I also installed 4 new speakers and a stereo(Getting a stereo to work without a harness is annoying.) on my friend'a grand prix.
Fuck me I hate living in Norway. We went from 28 degrees celsius in the sun to tons of snow in two days. No more Beetle driving for a couple of days I guess...

Are there any strange driving rules in the netherlands I should know about? I'm driving to "Leeuwarden" and "Emmen" on Thursday. Last time I just went the speed everyone else was doing and trying my best not to crash while, for the most part, driving like I do in the UK except on the wrong side of the road.
I want to do the nascar driving experience. 2.4k to have around 48 minutes of real racing plus probably around another hour or two of training. Sounds like alot but the its why it's called the experience. Even get put in the car yourself.
