Lets say theoretically that I put ten thousand hours into making a replica car out of cheese and it never moved and it was ugly and it eventually was eaten by birds. Does that mean that everybody should respect it just because I put so much time into it? or should people listen to the overwhelming logic that tells them that an immobile, smelly, useless cheese car is totally retarded?
I was referring mainly to the flush on the m3, it has no place there in my opinion, I believe that is a sports/racing car and not a drifter.
If that car has ever made a lap of a track any faster than it could stock, I will cut my dick off and throw it in a river. The only thing good about that M3 is that someone could easily swap out the wheels and tires for properly sized ones and replace the (most likely) cheap, ricer "coilovers" for proper suspension, and it would be back to being a real sports car. As it sits now its just a slightly mobile statue of idiocy.
A car made out of cheese would be pretty cool, actually
This is a stupid argument. Let's just agree that some people find camber and such appealing, in fact, a lot of people do. In America, the aftermarket industry is somewhere around an $8 billion industry. That's like $2.50 per person in America. Not everyone cares about performance, just like how not everyone cares about fuel economy. Some people are willing to wreck their tires to have their tires sideways. I personally think it looks stupid as fuck and when I see an R32 with mega camber, I nearly cry, but I would never go up to someone with a car like that and say "Hey, your car is a piece of shit, go crash and die." Everyone has their own tastes and while I don't agree with cambering your BMW, adding a giant spoiler to your honda civic, etc, atleast I don't make an ass out of myself spewing jabber about it. I just ignore it.
Thats fine. People are allowed to do whatever they want to their cars, and Im allowed to think its an abomination. If you think Im an "ass" because I expressed my opinion and refuted counter-arguments then I think you completely misunderstand the purpose of an open discussion forum.
That doesn't mean you need to call other cars disgusting. As long as someone is happy with their car, I don't think it's disgusting. We all like cars here and we're here because we like something about cars, whether it's going fast, or polishing it to perfection. I would give someone my opinion if they asked for it, but I would do so polite. Obviouisly, going around posting pictures of someone else's car saying "this looks disgusting" because of their style is just going to incite arguments. You're entitled to your opionion but that's no reason to be rude. I wouldn't call your car disgusting. And back to normal discussion: I went and saw the 240SX. The seats are the only clean thing about it. The engine's starting to wear down and it has a lot of issues to be fixed. It's also running nitrogen in the tires but they are severely deflated. He's smoked in the car and had his dog all over the seats. I'm not really looking for a project car atm because I don't have a drive-way nor a proper set of tools. Would you guys think 250,000 to 270,000 kilometres is high for a Golf GTI? There's three golf GTIs (1994, 1996, 1998) with 250k, 250k and 270k KM respectively on them. They're all around $2500. Seems like a good deal but I hear VWs are expensive to get parts for which leads me to ask if that's a bit high mileage. Also, on a note: I would have the hugest respect if you could make a replica car out of cheese.
So because you don't like mushrooms and someone else does can you not then say "I think mushrooms are disgusting and refuse to eat them"? There is also the assumption he is referring to the car in it's entirety as distasteful, I can clearly tell he is saying that stance is disgusting. Although I may argue the second picture is most likely on bags and lowered for the picture.
I was referring mainly to the flush on the m3, it has no place there in my opinion, I believe that is a sports/racing car and not a drifter. Terribly sorry to generalize, It's just my opinion, especially with those cars.
It's okay, i'm just butthurt because I like the flush look. Different taste etc. Sorry for being madmode. I really hate living in a state that requires emissions/inspection. My muffler is taking a shit on me and started to get a hole in it along with the rest of the axle back. I wish I knew away to buy some stickers on someone in PA cause its an out of state car with no stickers.....
I passed my emissions test with an almost-dead o2 sensor :v:
sorry about being late, but are you saying that 95% of the cars in this are ugly? [editline]9th February 2012[/editline] i'd agree that some of them are pretty bad tho.

haha this argument again brb in 10 pages
haha this argument again brb in 10 pages
So... how about that NASCARRRRR? But anyways, got my eye on a few cars atm now that the 240SX isn't really a possibility. There's two 4th gen preludes that are both pretty nice. Both FWD but both have swapped engines, one is h22a not sure about the other. One's more expensive but has some work put into it with new cams, headers, etc. Other is pretty stock. There's also an SC400 that looks pretty nice. Automatic that I might swap to 5spd later but it's got a nice engine (V8 MORE POWAHHHHH), they are fairly luxury, and get decent mileage. Choices! Also: Driving in the Rain is pretty awesome if you don't be stupid, you can have some fun without crashing into a pole.
Passed my drivers, huzzah. All I need to do now is get my truck registered and I can wheel around town and pick up chicks heheh.
Idk, if any of you listen to odd future but one of the members frank ocean is obsessed with e30 bmw's(his mixtape has an e30 on the cover). I thought this was pretty cool when he posted it on his tumblr.
TRYING TO SOURCE OUT A RIGHT HAND DRIVE DASHBOARD FOR AN E30 BMW.. anybody got a connect?
I don't see that many that are stupid with camber. Red R32 was on the edge, there was one with a retarded exhaust that had some quite bad camber aswell, some black car, didn't see the brand or anything, might've been a soarer. other than those few? didn't see many with retarded camber... this is probs just my opinion tho.
I feel fairly confident that my second gear synchro is failing me... I can't afford this -_-. It randomly just straight up ground when i tried to put it in second just earlier. Clutch fully to the floor, normal mid rpm shift from first. I don't know wtf i am going to do when it just doesn't work anymore.
Time to double clutch second gear.
Sometimes it just doesn't really want to go into any gear (it resists when i try to push it into reverse or 1st from a stop sometimes) and i have to clutch out and back in, in neutral, before it will ease into the gear like normal. More reasons to change the fluid i guess, although i don't think that is magically going to reverse what damage has been done. Do you know anything about rebuilding transmissions or anything like that? I don't even know how much i should expect it to cost if the time comes. It almost seems like it would be cheaper to just get a new transmission all together.

It makes the input shaft spin at the engine RPM so engaging it in gear is easier. D series trannies are cheap but I have NO idea on D17 trannies. I'm not even sure they're the same as 88-00 trannies.
I know that's double clutching, i learned about all of this stuff before i started driving manual because i was super paranoid. I think i am just a hypocardriac. I went and drove it around some more and it never ground gears, really. There is still this occasional sensation that i would describe as a micro grinding of gears, but it does it for like .1 second, and it just goes into gear a little more stiff than usual. I read somewhere that most d series transmissions SHOULD fit onto a d17, and some guy was saying he had one on his d17. It could have just been human error on the one grind i experienced. I might have not been clutched in all the way, or started clutching out too soon. If it does it more, i will know for sure; I just have to stop torturing myself with worrying about every single thing on my car.
snip, googled.
change your fluid, try GM/Pennzoil syncromesh or whatever it is Hondas use when syncros start to show age for me it's; 1qt Redline lightweight shockproof 1qt Pennzoil Synchromesh 2qt Castrol HypoyC 80w-90
Citizen Snips.
Wait a fucking minute Bugatti veyron -$2,250,880 - top speed of ~220MPH 98 Grand AM -$800 -top speed of 104MPH So basically you spend 2813 times as much for a car that only can go 2.11 times faster than my car. Pretty shitty MPH/$ if you ask me..
lets strap 2.11 grand ams together
Whoops, sorry for starting an argument.. Only reason why i will mount those is because i love hellaflush.. No it's not great to drive with those wheels, No it's not reliable to drive whith tyres mounted that way, But as a VW nerd, and Hellaflush enthusiast i like it when the car is slammed, when the wheels are wide, and when the car has a suspension that is nearly welded shut. Tief, breit und laut! Also Allthough it's not just a vw thing (:
Looks like they just spun out or something, cause that hugeass curb.
I've always liked the way SLIGHTLY stretched, and flush tires look. It never looks that nice when the tire goes out past the rim, although it will save your rim from curb rash i imagine.
