drove for the first time today it was okay but at one point I was on a narrow road and another car came, I pulled off a bit too far to the right and now there's a nice tree branch that has been slaughtered by car tires :(
Rookie
First time out in my sister's car was a rainy night, was coming up to a ~160 degree right hander and a truck was coming around the other way and cut the corner close. I got damn far to the right and hit a pothole that was probably a foot deep. Broke the control arm and some other shit I can't remember now. Cost me probably $400 to fix. Was a great first time driving!
That's just... something we all... do.
I found a complete turbo engine for my car with beefed up transmission, can't wait to pick it up and use the money I saved from not buying a parts car to rebuild it. :D

So about the videos I mentioned in the DIY thread...Basically it's a bunch of shitty clips i threw together with blank space in place of transitions. Don't mind the smoke, i hadn't started the car in a week and a half and have a blown coolant seal D: Runs cherry after 30 seconds of idle. [editline]17th May 2012[/editline] Also found a turbo 2 motor i might try and get my hands on. Mmmmm...
I guess since it involves engines it's allowed here. Yesterday I completed my degree so I now have an FAA commercial pilot certificate, and a flight instructor certificate with an instrument rating. Anyone want to learn how to fly? I'm poor now. :(

Got my 240sx home. I'm scared of driving M/T. I keep killing the engine releasing the clutch too quickly. Sucks so hard to A/T almost all your driving life.
So is everything so far going together for the car to work perfectly again?
Not yet. Just today started disassembling everything, you may be able to see the calipers and rotors off of the hubs and laying on the control arms and whatnot, i removed the studs and everything but I'm not too sure i'll be able to get the new ones in; I was barely able to knock out the old ones with the room i had, and the new ones are half an inch longer sooo...We'll see. Once i get those in i basically need a brake job (New rotors and pads all around) and a trailing arm, as well as the rims, and it's good to go. Not sure what that wobble in the drivers side axle is all about, but seeing as that isn't even the side that got hit...I'm not going to worry about it, it's probably always been there. [editline]17th May 2012[/editline] Also: Need to see if i can fit the rear one around my sub, if not I'm not too sure what I'll do for that. It's a little close to the alternator for comfort but I'll triple check it for clearance issues before i get it out on the road.
Encountered the douchiest drivers today. Driving on a two-lane highway, when suddenly I see that my lane (left lane) has a long line of cars in front. After about 15 minutes of driving bumper to bumper, I finally saw the cause of this traffic. What I saw was so awful, so evil, so rage-inducing that I almost yelled some pretty nasty words: 2 trucks with big campers, side-by-side, driving 60, going 5 below the speed limit.( This highway is pretty empty so people generally go 5-10 above the limit) There must have been at least 15 cars behind the asshole in the left lane, there is no way they didn't see all those cars lined up behind them. I caught up to them after the highway expanded, and did an angry pass. People like those need their own circle of hell

It looks like it unbolts, not really sure if that would change the length of it or something though.
My brother is on the road with his new Clio today :D 1.9L Turbo diesel in a small 3 door car. Christ it's fast.
Fast... For a diesel. Always love to drove that line to derv heads, they hate it!
I don't know why some ID's put the persons weight on and some don't. I know PA doesn't do it.
http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/3019742697.html for sale in my town, by looking at the pictures... this may of been sitting around the corner from me for years. Not going to buy but figure I'll go look. Friend may buy a car like this just to sit on till he fixes the monte so he'll have another car to work on.
Holy shit buy it buy it buy it
Found a bag of hersheys kisses and a bar of chocolate in my glovebox. I honestly don't remember them being there, so I asked everybody who's been in my car since the last time I checked my glovebox (dont use it very often) and they all said that they didn't know anything about it. The kicker? The name of the bar of chocolate is Sweet Obsession
So today I was cleaning the interior of my car, and ever since I got the car, the dome light has been a little loose. So I tried to pull it off and see what the problem was, but I actually snapped the plastic mount for the light housing. A quick check seems that it's cause of the intense heat we get in Florida, has actually made the plastic very very brittle. So I guess I'm goin to the scrapyard tomorrow to pick one off another focus lol Also, while I'm at it, I think I'm gonna put some blue LED dome lights in
Check engine light is constantly on in my gauge cluster. It seems like it doesn't rev right either. Misfiring? Really awkward vibration. That or I just need to put gas in it lol

When my timing belt broke / was breaking, my car felt like it was making a tenth of its regular power, was making a weird noise when revving, and vibrating.

I looked at my FSM, the light is for the California emissions equipment. I think my exhaust system has a problem or the like. Maybe a new catalytic converter? One of the sensors are loose? :( But yeah, when I got it here yesterday it was working alright. It was just when I started it this morning it seemed really odd. As if only two cylinders were firing and there's white smoke from the exhaust.
I replaced my interior lights with these things as a few bulbs blew and I'm up for experimenting. They are much brighter than their incandescent counterparts, I like the colour temperature of them. I'd use them for exterior side lights and such but I'm not sure on the law in the UK governing the use of aftermarket LED lights, correct colour of course. Also while messing around with electrics I noticed my car had a covered hole for the cigarette lighter socket for the LHD version of my car, so I bought a socket and installed one. I now have two lighter sockets in the front and one in the back (One in the back has an inverter plugged into it permanently)
