It's nice looking, yeah. Definitely not ricey. Which is honestly hard to find. Too bad you're not getting anything fast for that kind of money, though. A wheezy single cam VTEC motor isn't too much fun in a 2 and 1/4 ton Civic.
How bout that '03 Accord I added to the same post?
i'd pay 6000 dollars for that civic... but then again i'm in denmark.
i'd pay 6000 dollars for that civic... but then again i'm in denmark.
Problem is, I know Bradley's right about it being overpriced and I can't haggle it with the dude
Problem is, I know Bradley's right about it being overpriced and I can't haggle it with the dude
yeah you can, even if he says it's firm you can still haggle.
yeah you can, even if he says it's firm you can still haggle.
i can certainly try, but I have nowhere near the knowledge of bradley so he could still (try to) fuck me on the price
6 grand for a Civic or an Accord. Come on man, try and do some research
6 grand for a Civic or an Accord. Come on man, try and do some research
This doesn't help me at all.
Guys i'm in need of a little help. I need to know if a Corrado VR6 big radiator, will fit in my G60 version. My radiator is leaking badly, and instead of buying the same small stock radiator, i wanted to get the bigger one, and the fit 2x 12' slim fans to it, so there would be a little more space in the engine room. Wow pageking here enjoy snoopy in a corrado
Here's a nice hatch that could be cleaned up real nice: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3011269297.html Good price on it, got the LS already in there. If it ran and drove well it'd be a good deal. If this didn't have so many miles it'd be okay: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3005644216.html Unmolested EK coupe If you're not worried about a salvage title this black coupe is hella nice start if you plan on some subtle mods: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2958645094.html shiiiiiyyyyyyuuuuuttttttt http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2957286651.html LS/VTEC EF hatch. I'm sure you're wanting something newer though. And this is a tad steep, I'd offer him 3k for something like this. Aside from the hood this one's super clean: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2949668364.html A carbon hood or whatever could fix that. Even a color match respray would do fine. Holy grail of gas mileage: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3003416307.html The 92-95 Civic VX get ~50+ MPG, but they're slow so don't go expecting a hotrod. lol slammed: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2953930198.html ? Or this: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3019818671.html So many Civic options in your area for way under what that one was. almost 6k for a dropped civic with fancy seats and nice wheels... You can pick up a coupe for $3000 and put $1000 into it and have a nicer car. [editline]21st May 2012[/editline] Fuckin' ninja
This doesn't help me at all.
If you're serious. Get the Accord. Super comfy and pretty quick. Not to mention that thing is sexy.
I'm still unsure though, about one thing. I still have $7,000 to put towards a car. I can buy a Civic, but I'm still looking that can maximize my budget, so to speak. I absolutely wouldn't mind having some leftover but I don't see any reason to spend $4,000 on a good car when I can spend $7,000 on a great car. Everyone I know says to stay away from Euro cars since repairs are expensive (they are from what I can tell) but BMWs, for example, are really nice. I have no idea what to expect out of them mileage wise.

You'd have money for other expenses (and you will have expenses). I've already linked you to some before. Don't limit yourself to just Honda, there are great Mitsubishi, Subaru, Toyota and Nissan cars if you're going the JDM route. It is up to your tastes and needs for your daily really. But just because a car is close to 7K does not constitute the price as quality. Do some research I mean, look up reliable engines and cars that have a great amount of aftermarket parts and replacements. Also research and study which drivetrain you would prefer. Automatic or manual, FWD or AWD? Then look up their market worth and how they average amongst other similar cars in your area. With the right research, you can find a good deal for a car compared to a guy overpricing his Honda because it simply "looks good" Sure, you can buy a $6K Honda, but when it breaks, are you sure you have enough money to fix it up to spec? Mileage is a non-issue if the car has been well maintained. A 200K mile car is just a name if every internal component has been replaced. Don't purchase on a whim or because a car looks good. You can change the whole look of a car for 1K, paint and kit. Bradley put it square
So you're essentially saying it's better value for money if I tune up an older car? Makes sense. Besides, 90's to early 00's is like a sweet spot for aesthetics for me

You can buy a 2004 car and yet it has been beat to death, while a 1993 car can be garaged all this time. It falls on research. Have a good eye for great deals and details. If it really is your money and not someone's, you would get what Bradley and I mean when you can get a reasonably-priced car and make it awesome  I got this 1990 S13. Sure, its old, but it isn't beat. Age =/= maintenance. For $1.3K I got a decent car considering how old it is. It's just right for me. Rear-wheel drive, manual transmission and it hasn't been riced out or modified at all except for general engine replacements. My parents covered the fees and is being serviced for $1K. Essentially, $2K for an S13 that works? Good deal. Later on, when I get a job and more income, I can transform this into a beast with little money and work
Exactly, it's all down to the owner to decide how reliable their car is. My brother has a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor but the thing stutters when driving because I'm not even sure if he's ever given it an oil change. My moms car on the other hand is a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, almost 200,000 miles. Runs like brand new, only things going wrong are things that we can't help like a dying head unit, and the temperature knob on the AC sheared off in the winter.
It's definitely my money. However my parents are looking over my shoulder for this purchase so I'm under a bit of strain to buy a car according to their standards (read: get fucked by a dealer for a shitty car but it's okay because lemon laws) I wouldn't mind buying an older and tuning it up.
so that pipe some asshole pulled it over so my jeep was running open headers again. >:) [editline]21st May 2012[/editline] I pulled it over
CVPI got into maintenance.. Transmission is not looking good. Fuck.

This looks really good http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3015387136.html It's got the SI kit, it's an automatic (I highly prefer those) and it's not buttfuckingly expensive Wow sniped
Yeah don't get that. I have a feeling he abused it to shit trying to be a redlight racer.
Yeah don't get that. I have a feeling he abused it to shit trying to be a redlight racer.
Key is stock. Try to find one that is almost stock so that you can make your own mods and you know what has been done with the car
Key is stock. Try to find one that is almost stock so that you can make your own mods and you know what has been done with the car
Well Bradley recommended an SI converted civic to me at one point So I guess I'm putting the onus on him to tell me if it's good
That's not Si converted, it's got 99-00 nose on it. It's a stock Civic HX with a D16Y7. Not a terrible deal, really, those things get good mileage. It's an auto, so ehhhh, but if you don't mind that, go for it. Not too shabby. Getting a Civic with an auto is stupid though, imo. You're missing out on one of the most enjoyable pieces of equipment in the shitbox line of cars -- Manual transmission.
I suppose I'd get better acceleration out of a stick? I'll keep an eye out for good stocks. I've got all the ones you've recommended bookmarked, so after awhile if nothing I really like catches my eye I'll contact those people
