Saw a kouki hatch the other day in some strange gold color. Hella clean. I still regret not keeping my 240 and building it up.
Never too late to get a 240. Actually that might not be true any longer; seeing a surge of people purchasing them as of late as the drifting scene here in the West Coast is steadily gaining audience
Your wagons look like they just came out of an arse
oh yeah? well cvpis are bad and you should feel bad for liking them!
Do it. But do you have to get a wagon? Aren't there 90's Impreza's for that price?
Wooo.... http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/3016997595.html I don't really want a Sedan, either a coupe or wagon...anything.

I already got a truck that gets ~10mpg I don't need another car that gets pretty much the same. :v:
Eh, maybe if I knew what I was doing. I attempted to find an Integra on the denver craigslist and all I found were beat to shit DA's, lsvtec/turbo abused junk and hideously overpriced dealers. The best one I saw was a GSR with an LS swap(lol) but I'm not sure why it has a lightened flywheel with a stock clutch.. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3001959147.html I also found a 93 GSR with the b17 still in it, but that's more something I would want because it's cool. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2990974871.html I really don't understand, all the Integra's I've seen for sale lately have pretty much become complete junk or is an automatic. Just a year or two ago I used to see respectable ones driving around and for sale. [editline]21st May 2012[/editline]
$10k http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/3007906274.html
Oh, I've seen this hatch IRL before.. It's fucking insane.
Jap's CRX has a B17 GSR swap in it. Good motor. Shit tranny though.
sorry to bring this up again but, Protocol, you're clearly not gonna get the advice you want here, you've been here asking for how long, a month now? we've suggested loads of different cars but "no this is not nice" "this is overpriced" "this is too old" "lol it's a hatchback" I mean, why are you still asking us.
maybe he's softly trolling us all by slowly shooting down all of our opinions on good cars [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] I've got about $650 from graduation, time for new exhaust piping! and a new muffler! and a cutout! and fog lights! and a tool box if i still have money left :<

And I've never even said the first two, so if you're going to make shitty claims that I'm not taking you seriously, you could at least be factually correct. I'm new to the market. Seeing your recommendations has helped me immensely in knowing what's good and what's not. [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] I think my biggest problem right now is that I haven't given any cars a test drive so I don't really know exactly what I want (I'll probably ultimately end up with a coupe/sedan anyway.) However I'm having trouble rationalizing my thought process, and by proxy, yours to my parents about buying a car off Craigslist. My dad is saying that, based on my sister's car, getting a car with ~100k miles on it is too much. (Her car is a '93 Dodge Caravan that was sitting for about 7 years unused, though we did walk away with it for $500. It's had about $4,000 in repairs since and is at 110,000) I've told him what I've been told here before - a well maintained car will last a good ~3/400,000 miles. And he says "There's no way of knowing if a car is well maintained" (Isn't that why you take it to a mechanic?)

If it isn't because racecar, I don't see why anyone would bother. Also, yes you can tell if a car has been maintained, rather easily too. Easiest thing to check is if the shell is original to the engine and if it's been beat. Dents and gashes, rust and corrosion. Interior is also another sign as an owner that maintains his car would care about what the inside looked and felt. You can tell that to the drifters in their scene where their cars are exactly what most users on this subforum have. 100K+ or - miles and they modify it to the point it goes well above that number. I'd worry about the price you pay and the condition of the car instead of mileage because if your car is going to fall apart at a certain accumulated amount of miles, is it even worth it to buy?

He's like "I think 70,000 miles would be a good sweet spot." I don't see how anyone can rationalize miles like that, because on a car in the mid 90's range, that means it's been sitting for awhile. I really liked the idea of buying a decent $3,000/$4,000 car and just putting in money up front to give it the works. That way I know it's guaranteed for at least some respectable miles. [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] I mean, first of all, it's my first car. I don't know if he expects a Porsche out of my budget or some shit but I just want something decent that will last me a good 6-7 years or so (anything extra is a bonus). Secondly, it's my goddamn money. I appreciate his input but I don't see what makes a 70,000 mile car inherently better than a 100,000 mile car. I really don't like the idea of buying a car from a dealer. I feel like I'd get fucked on some way or another, and having lemon laws to protect me doesn't really rationalize that either. I'd be harder pressed to get the truth about a car from a salesman than some random trying to sell his old car.
100,000 is the point at which you'll need to start replacing parts like the timing belt, so if you end up gettting a car with 100k+ miles then make sure you have a couple thousand left over for repairs and replacement parts

Yeah, that's how I'd do it if I had to get a civic And now I have a strong urge to baby my car and replace all the fluids and filters :v: If only I had the money to completely replace everything in my car...
It all goes down to rationalizing it to my parents, but then again who the fuck am I kidding? I'm 19, it's my money and it's evident that people here know their shit so I won't get shafted when I buy a car since I'll probably be posting about any cars that catch my eye here.
