hnnggghhh, buy it already

Buy that integra, 00-01 had chipped keys which makes them the hardest to steal of any of them.
It's also a manual, looks really clean and has webs still!
It's also had to have the timing belt changed by now, the next major thing is the clutch and timing belt again by 180k.
The hatch looks nice too though,
That hatch is a fucking dream, it's really worth it. Try and like hatches, you won't be disappointed. Plenty of people like them, especially that one.
[editline]24th May 2012[/editline]
also, that car has less miles than my honda, which is 10 years newer.
See, I completely understand why hatches are practical. I can forsee a couple situations where the extra space would be useful. Also a manual in good condition.
I just, really, really dislike the way it looks. To the point where I absolutely do not want to buy the car. I don't mind regular Civics, and hatchbacks, while not my favorite, are doable, but the general appearance of that specific Civic just really, really doesn't sit well with me. I would not feel comfortable driving it.
That Integra though... now we're talking.
The Integra looks like it has some body damage actually..

Those panels are terribly thin after 98 and I probably have 8+ dents on it alone...
People don't understand why i'm so sensitive about them sitting or leaning against my car, but it's because it's a giant pussy when it comes to denting. Someone sat on the hood ONCE and now it has a warped mark on it from it, i leaned on the side of it, it dented in and popped right back out, but left a warped mark as well. My friend lays all the way down on the middle of his hood on his 95 accord, hops off, and it's back to perfect shape. My car just doesn't fully recover from being dented in like that. In fact, the dent on my hood required me to popped the hood and bang it out with my hand(yes, bang it out, it didn't just push out.)
[editline]24th May 2012[/editline]
I'm sure a lot of you have seen this, but i hadn't until the other day.

What the fuck, that's awesome. How?
My grand prix you can't fucking dent it unless a 18 wheeler smashes into it
The hood will never bend it weighs a fuckton, accord bends and pops back but it's later gen
Dylan, the Bose video is crazy.
I took the 240sx for some spirited mountain pass driving. Its really scary. You really cannot track drive without proper suspension equipment. The body roll was excessive and that kills my grip on the road when I turn sharply as the car sits rather high. Both my tension rods and tie control rods on the front and back are busted. Break a little fast and your steering is jerked a few inches to the left or right. Without bushing, they float around, super dangerous!
I can literally feel the age of this car. The steering wheel is coming apart under my hands and it wobbles as the rubber starts to crunch off. The shifter knob spins in its axle, making shifting a minigame in itself trying to right my grip. The clutch makes my car jerk if I don't give it immediate follow up gas.
The engine has a lot of kick actually. On a straight away, for once in my life I felt the G-forces sucking me into the driver's seat. Rear wheel drive is great! Shifting like there's no tomorrow. I found a 240sx coupe driving on the same straightaway, sadly cannot catch up to him. My engine is overheating. When I parked it, the coolant was boiling and shooting out the reservoir air vent, not good. Leaking it on the bottom.
Needs a fixer really. I NEED MONEY
poly bushing time?
So after some super intense opening the hood for 3 seconds and looking at the brake master cylinder, i have found that i do not have ABS.
last night i was thinking, why didn't the pedal pulsate at all when i put the brakes on yesterday?
So my bro bradley sent me a super indepth picture circling the abs... thinga.
[editline]24th May 2012[/editline]
Cant wait to drive in snow and be able to actually brake, shit sucked in the grand am.
Poly bushings do help, get a set of 25mm sways and as many braces as possible.
Instead of a 86 why don't i buy a Bentley Arnage instead?

or a Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag

Because probably one tuneup is as much as you are paying for the car.
aw yea, gettin some fresh tranny oil in my car tomorrow. Early b-day present fuck yeah

I've threatened my friends that I would get a taser for when they lean on my car, after thinking about this again for the last 5 seconds I realized it's probably cheaper than body work too.
It really gets old when people decide to do stupid shit around your car and can manage to make a good 4" long dent in one of the body curves which curve up to the hatch near the antenna which is one of the strongest parts of the fucking panel.
if somebody ever dents my ae86 i'm gonna flip a shit... because I did all the bodywork myself.
My friend bought a Miata and I thought it was girly. But then he gave me a ride and I thought it was cool. The end.

I just cutting-compoundeded the full length scratches on my car, the ones created when an idiot in a transit van ran me off the road into some bushes. Oh the sound.
I need some advice:
I want to tidy up the rear end where I turned too sharp on a multi-story spiral (Long, wide car... new driver... Bad mood from events earlier in the day causing eratic driving... not good):

I've already pulled the dent out.
I'm not bothered about it being PERFECT, I just want to stop rust from setting in and make it a little less obvious.
This has been hit before I owned it, hence there's filler.
It strikes me that the deeper parts that hit filler would be easier to fix, build up the filler mask off and spray?
but what about the deep scratches on the rear door, that seems like it would be hard?
What should I do?
My car has all sorts of messed up things. I don't know if the mechanic neglected the maintenance or what. After careful reading of my FSM's and forums tips there's a buncha things weird about my 240.
There was an air relief screw you're supposed to remove when bleeding and flushing coolant. Turns out, there was a huge pocket of air in the coolant system. When I removed the screw myself, it gave a nice burb, the coolant got sucked deep into the radiator. I also bought a new radiator cap as well as a hose latch to tighten the reservoir hose. It was still rising in temperature and overheating, as well as having my coolant boil out into the reservoir tank. I believe the timing is incorrectly set on the distributor.
I opened up the dizzy, sure enough the rotor is advanced by a few degrees from factory. I don't know, perhaps the mechanic advanced the timing to compensate for the somewhat average compression of the engine and the age. But I know its not factory spec at all. Wiring is correct.
As for the car jerking left/right during turns, turns out it isn't the bushings at all. Sure, the 240's bushings are worn and cracked, but they shouldn't do that. Found out my car is equipped with a HICAS system, which supposedly helps you hug corners more. Changed the 20 fuse and its working as it should.
Need to go buy some distilled water to see if I can pinpoint that overheating issue. Here's to hope its just the thermostat/coolant temp sensor instead of a busted head gasket/warped parts

uncut bloodmasters, yo
Dat DDOS.
Got my stuff in the mail on Thursday. Apparently some of the parts I ordered were out of stock which is why it took so long, or so a little note on my receipt says.
Also gonna change my oil and prolly install a stereo, after finally finding the right kit for my truck.

I feel bad for you.
I would hate having a nice car like that and having a slew of problems.
[editline]26th May 2012[/editline]
Also, I'm going out to see that Prelude tomorrow or Monday.
I'm probably not gonna buy it, unless it turns out to be in REALLY good shape. I just wanna get out and test drive some shit.
I feel bad for you.

Don't, because I can handle it myself. It's more like neglect from the previous owner and I have to clean up the poor 240 he beat up
Ran the 240 at the mountain pass again today. It has hesitation, sometimes shakes somewhat violently after shifting into a gear. As if the brakes are holding the engine back or something. Even if I'm going at a steady rate and I let go of the gas completely, the engine stutters going down in RPM
my car is very specific about how much throttle you give it after a gear change, and generally when accelerating it will be very jumpy if you just floor it
Got some shortie headers and a new set of pipes for my blazer  Just gotta find someone with a welder and bender
Especially if you have a lightened flywheel like myself. You sure you're shifting correctly and at the right times? IE not powershifting the fuck out of it like a ricer but instead easing into it? Not popping the clutch? etc.?
[editline]26th May 2012[/editline]
I mean if you've got the right setup that shit is no big deal, i do it all the time; But i also have all new parts and know the car like the back of my hand, i can powershift through gears easily. From the way you word it, yours isn't the case, far as i can tell anyways.
Went to a drag today, there was over 120 people part-taking in the race. Had a bunch of fun there.

At least since yesterday coming back from work, I got a ticket of 128$ and 3 points, on my 4 points licenses. So now I can't get another ticket for a year. :v:
I somehow have never been ticketed, and numerous times have gone by cops in opposing traffic or parked on the side of the road while traveling in excess of 80 miles an hour :v:
Never had beeen ticketed before, but this cop on his bike felt like giving a ticket to me, while apparently we all were going this speed, I was the unlucky one of the gang. Money ain't the problem, the problem is within the point, I only have one point left for a whole year.
System is fucked. The guy with the nice car going 5 MPH over is going to get thrown in court but the bitch hauling ass weaving in and out of traffic in her shitty SUV talking on the phone gets ignored.
I remember that some Corolla was going about 135 passing by me, the cop told him to get to the side too, but he only told him to slow down, while he gave me a ticket. But there was many going faster before I. Shit happens, but I would have preferred getting this ticket actually being a dumbfuck rather than just letting myself go down a hill in neutral.
