Mountain passed the S13 again this afternoon. Uphill, downhill great turns. I tried drifting it but became kinda scary. The body roll is just too much, my car sits way too high. Couple it with fighting the HICAS + broken control arms. gg Also, still overheating. It might be some sensor like coolant temp sensor or thermostat. There's so much pressure in the system. Drove it for 30 minutes until it just fizzles. Changed some fuses, but that only fixed the pop up lights that don't rise at the same time. Pulling hair out

Two days in a row we've had thunder and lightning. The street in front of my house turned into a river for a little bit there.
[QUOTE=Koenigsegg;36093174]Actually, I've decided to get a 240sx, an 86 is just too hard to get in decent condition and just seems like way too big a project for a first car.[/QUOTE] 86's can't really hold a drift without it being heavily modified for track usage. Sorry, but Initial D and the comics are all fantasy. Cool. Make sure you know what 240sx you're going to purchase. S13 or S14? Fastback or Coupe? Base or Sport option? Flip-ups or Silvia conversion headlights? Single cam KA24E or twin-cam KA24DE, JDM? The parts are literally pennies cheap and the parts you can buy from almost any internet store compared to other cars. :) Just take a hint from me though, they're quite finicky and girly. If you don't set everything to factory specs, they will cause trouble. Also, might get a new thermostat
Recently starting "optimizing" how my stereo plays music High bass low treble all day every day [editline]26th May 2012[/editline] And I'm 18 today! No more stupid curfews and passenger limits

Thanks and yeah, i forgot that I can add more bass without having to raise the volume :v:
whatever car i end up with, it's probably gonna have a shitty stereo how much would a good one run? i'd be confident in my own abilities to replace the speakers and such, but I have no idea about head units
around $500? depends on what you want really
You can get a decent one for $60-150 at best buy. The three things it should have are: mp3 playback, an aux port, and the ability to change speaker balance, bass, treble, etc. That's pretty much all you need from a stereo, speakers should do the rest [editline]26th May 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=Concur;36094400]around $500? depends on what you want really[/QUOTE]sure, if you want a head unit with a 5" screen and touchscreen to go along with it [editline]26th May 2012[/editline] after a bit of research, you can get a head unit that has a 7" monitor /w touchscreen, bluetooth capabilities, rear camera connectivity, and dvd playback for 500 bucks. That's still a lot of money for a head unit though
Yeah, I just want something adjustable with an MP3 input. Speakers, well, I'm not much of an audiophile, the standard speakers would probably be fine for me if they aren't severely lacking in treble/mid/bass.

Protocol, you'd want to get new speakers if the car is aged. The ones on mine have no bass at all, if anything any base comes from the vibrating of the car frame :P
Remember No high's No low's it must be BOSE! ~Proud BOSE Owner~ Get something with Bose. It will keep our foot in the door about sound quality without having to fiddle with head units n shit.

If you want to install the head unit yourself, 125 bucks for a good one.

man shiban, I wish I could get over there and help you out with fixing that 240sx... you sound like you have enough money to pay for parts, but need quite a bit of help from your mechanic. I wish I had one myself, but I only have a silly ae86 standing on jacks.

I'm just severely put off due to their forays into professional audio.
Like I sayed Bose is only goof for to get your foot into the door. If you don't want to spend extra money for speakers n crap. You could get away with spending 50 bucks on a set of 4 walmart speakers and a 10/12 inch sub in a nice box with an amp and be perfectly perfect. [editline]27th May 2012[/editline] I spent 20 bucks on 4 inch speakers for the front. I don't have anything in the back except for a $20 sony box thing they had on sale and a Dual 8" bandpass, and those 4 inch speakers alone made an astronomical difference compared to the stock speaker on the passenger side and blown one on the drivers side.

I love all the hype the anime gave the car but sometimes I really wish it didn't exist. As for the 240sx i'm probably just gonna choose whichever seems to be the best deal.

I've been unemployed for a while, mom and pop just scrounged up enough money for a 240sx I found off some guy that's going broke. Hence why I chose a 240sx, this one had a busted head gasket and worn parts. Few hundreds and this thing is already running again lol. This afternoon I plan to take off the front bumper. The pignose vents are actually fake, I'm gonna cut em up to make them real vents into the engine bay. I need any help lol. I am confused.
Ok so now I'm looking at the fact that turbo-ing a carburetor engine is going to be a pain, so the best thing to do is get fuel injected. But instead of converting my current engine to fuel injection I think it would be better to just find 1.8L 16V fuel injected. vs my 1.8L 8V carb. and turbo the 16V. Does this sound like a good plan?

Nice Areolop. Prom wasn't too long ago for me but I already feel really old. Today, once the heat goes away, I'm gonna unbolt the front bumper and cut out the air vents on the Zenki front
