Except that if you want to push the limits at Pikes Peak, you will need that spoiler to keep you from firing yourself off the edge to your death.

Move to Norway and say the same after a winter
[sp]you wont[/sp]
[editline]5th June 2012[/editline]
In a big bang theory episode I just watched a guy controlled the mirrors in an mk1 golf electronically
I twitched
Anyone else think matte charcoal/black paint can look really good on some cars?
Move to Norway and say the same after a winter
I'm from finland, and I have never lost control in the winter except ~2 times when toying around with the handbrake

If you can't stop at a stop sign/red light whatever you're going too fast, it's that simple
dat spoiler
for reference I was saying it was ugly

I've never lost control during winter ever either but I still hate it

Believe it or not guys, spoilers hold a very important role in racing. Front and rear spoilers increase grip. Specially rear wings for RWD vehicles
Also, headed to the store to purchase a lower radiator hose. Fixing the fixup job the mechanic did. Gross

I know it serves a purpose, I was just saying it's damn ugly. Good lord
Maybe not the best for driving, then again I'd just get another Cherokee with 4x4 or a wrangler, and love it. Fuck the heat
looking at some autoglass repair companies

Yes, but most people don't take their cars racing. The biggest spoiler I would get would be a little ducktail. If its appropriate for the car then by all means get one, but I'm tired of people putting big spoilers on applications that seem inappropriate. (But if its a race car then by all means put one on)
Jesus. $289 to get my windshield replaced.
Well, it's gotta get done, and it's actually the cheapest quote I've had this week. Safelite wanted like $350 and the guy I just hired is my neighbor so I'm sure I can talk him down a bit
learn to drive, tia
I got my license back in november, so this stuff pretty much happened right after I got my license. And the only times I slid was on packed ice on roads, shit was everywhere

don't worry I can back you up that colorado winters are any driver's nightmare, experienced or not

I need to get mine replaced soon too. It has millions of tiny scratches which only show in direct light, but it's really fucking annoying when it does happen because my visibility is reduced by about 30-40% on certain spots on my windshield
Well they said something about the molding having to be replaced too. I don't know how much that is on top of the actual glass but the total's still a lot.
The crack is like right in my vision so I absolutely have to get it taken care of, slouching when I'm driving isn't comfortable.
don't worry I can back you up that colorado winters are any driver's nightmare, experienced or not
I'm kinda glad I learned how to drive during winter, got some good experience in driving in bad weather. There were some times where i got caught in a snow storm and had to wait it out, though
So is that $289 price for molding + windshield fair? I figured I can't get the timing belt taken care of until the weekend so I'll get the windshield done. What should I be expecting price-wise for the timing belt replacement?
You can try to reduce the price for the windshield, but it's not bad as it is. The timing belt could be expensive, depending on how easy it is to get to it. You also should replace your timing belt tensioner, better to replace it now while you're replacing the timing belt to save money on labor costs
I keep forgetting I get paid monthly and I just got May's paycheck last Friday so I don't have to squeeze my money for repairs this month. I'll try talking them down since the reason I called them in the first place is because my neighbor owns the company and that means they're close.
When I go in for timing belt replacement should I get the full shabang? Belt, water pump, maybe tensioner (I didn't think those had to be replaced that often)

The first time it snowed i drove straight to the empty parkinglot up the street to learn all the magics of snow driving, like how if i touched the throttle in my grand am while turning at 5mph insta understeer.
and how abs shits its self
and how ebrake slides are hella sick.
[t]http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/3173/cisnowvic.jpg[/t]
I only drove in the snow once, with my civic. It was pretty mild snow, but it was fresh and i was one of the first people out on the roads after it has snowed (it snowed from like 3-5am, and i left for home at 5am) My tires are pretty shit(worn out 'performance' tires with probably an eight of an inch of tread), so it was quite slippery, but if you just cruise slowly it isn't so bad(even without abs and tcs).
taking snow slowly in any car is how you avoid accidents
some cars have 4wd and the like but even then you have to be careful
tires make a big difference, my old winter tires had almost no studs left and they had absolutely no grip on ice
though there's not very many countries that even allow studded tires
my tires have like 60% tread left, probably gonna have to get new ones before this winter. Sliding is fun though :v: unless it's on a street with cars parked on both sides
I have brand new all-season tires. guy was nice enough to get them done before selling the car
I take strips of rubber i find laying around and glue them onto my tires and just carve grooves into them
I take strips of rubber i find laying around and glue them onto my tires and just carve grooves into them
hey if it works, you can't complain

I think I paid around $600, I don't remember but I got all the accessory belts with it too. It's mainly labor which you are going to be paying for.

The tensioner should always be replaced. The water pump is sort of stupid to not be replaced as it's ran by the timing belt and unless you plan to unnecessarily do everything to change a timing belt to change the water pump alone, you want it to replaced. I'm not really sure about their actual lifespan but they're not all that expensive.
Mmkay.
On a side note.
Guess who got a rock chip on their windshield on the drive home today. It scratched the surface pretty deep and left a crack about a half inch across.
Good thing I'm getting it replaced tomorrow. I just hope this won't be common.
