I'm sore all over. Being physically unfit for years makes me yearn for my old, fit and sexy body. I feel like an old grandpa with an aching back and sore joints. Cuts and gashes all over my arms. I'm halfway throughout the coolant operation. So far so good, changed the mud that was once power steering fluid. Dead tired zzzzzzzzzzz
lolpowersteering.
i'm taking tomorrow off work too. So... you bet your ass I'm gonna look at that timing belt. no pussying out. I am gonna find out how to take the cover off and just goddamn do it. I also have to clean out a windshield nozzle, I want to take a look at my brake lights and make sure they're all good, and basically fix up the little shit that I'm more than confident I can do [editline]7th June 2012[/editline] give the interior a good cleaning too. what's that shit you clean your interior with and polish your dash with? armor-all or something?
[sp] I'm kinda getting tired of hearing what people want to do but not actually doing it. [/sp]

It's never cracked up my dash or anything. The only negative side is it seems to attract dust in the end but that might just be the fact of its so clean of course it'll get dirty fast and be noticable. I've personally used the wipes but im too assed to clean my own car thats what car washes are for and then i can say "I SUPPORT LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS"
snow usually melts right away
In february when I drove to my grandmother's funeral and the weather was like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/EtRSJ.jpg[/t] The snow did not smelt off the headlights to put it that way :v: [editline]7th June 2012[/editline]
I have no idea, we are thinking it has a aftermarket gearbox. You don't have to push it down to go into reverse. And does yours fell like its not in the gear but it actually is?
No, mine is tight and good. There are some times it's hard to get it in reverse but that might be because there's little transmission oil on it.
Also, I don't have enough balls to open my timing belt cover. But based on the wear on the bolts it looks like it was taken off at least once, so that's a good sign
I don't even have a timing cover on mine, never have. I don't run them. does not running one actually make it last that much worse? I can't imagine that it'll last much shorter just because there's no cover on there..
I use armor-all on my car interior, 5+ months of using it and no problems yet I have a shitload of car cleaning supplies I carry around in my trunk, along with a bunch of rags and a roll of paper towels :v:
It doesn't hurt it really. The extra water and other things getting on it shortens the life a bit, but generally going to last about the regular lifetime (60k) since they usually can last twice that anyways. Having the cover off, I always keep an eye on it, and avoid driving over anything that could get tangled in it (Tree branches, bits of tire on the road, gravel roads).
not sure if run with or without... it can look pretty sweet without it, but at the same time if it means I can't really drive on gravel roads without being sure it wont fuck up my car... not so sure.

Is it worth the modifications, or should I go with something else? It'll only cost me €100 a month for 3 years, and I've always been a fan of the E3-series.

I live in a country where buying anything +10 years old's known of breaking down easily, so a 14 year old car's pushing it a bit.
My current newest car is 23 years old :v: My daily driver is 41 years old
it'll get dusty sooner or later so I'm not worried about that, it's just a lot of shit got onto my dash when they replaced the windshield so I wanna clean it up :v:
I use armor-all on my dash, it's all plastic, but it works well. Keeps it from fading and cracking. But you will find it gets pretty shiny, so you will see reflections off the windscreen. Now, I haven't used it, but I've heard black magic has a detailer that works as well, but without the shine. Maybe give that a shot?
Also how does living in Denmark make cars unreliable after 10 years? Denmark barely has rough terrain anywhere :v: Also automerge-ninja'd
I'unno. Most cars I've ever driven that were +10 all broke down shortly after it was purchased. Broke down as in something important costing more than the car broke.
That's so unlikely. [editline]7th June 2012[/editline] In any car ~20 years old and under
Well my Beetle broke down once but that was just because of extremely worn brushes in the alternator. It cost me like $10 to fix
They were all in the price range of 10k DKK (~€1500) so I suppose it was because of that and not the car's fault. But back on topic, a BMW 316i. Will it cost me a fortune to repair, and is it worth the rather expensive modifications or should I buy something else? (Preferable with the same style in design)

Best spend it on engine upgrades or suspension. But imo, BMW's cost a lot of money coming from my friends who own them. My friend owns an E30 and he can't even fix it up the costs are too enormous. (USA)
Not gonna rice it, gonna leather the interior and upgrade the stereo and perhaps a matching paintjob. I found out that for the price I can get a 320i cabrio, 2.0 [img_thumb]http://images.bilinfo.dk/images/961600152_1.jpg?width=480&height=320&crop=auto[/img_thumb] Now that's rice, but I like it.
Not gonna rice it, gonna leather the interior and upgrade the stereo and perhaps a matching paintjob.
Was talking about function over form. You can always get the creature comforts later. Make sure the car can run it's optimum performance. Heck, even slap a turbo on there as well as racing seats. But it's your money man [editline]k[/editline]
Just because you prefer the aesthetic changes first doesn't mean it's gonna be riced.
