So the clutch isnt disengaging until youre almost fully depressed?
Yeah pretty much.
Oh my god guys it's a joke. We do it to fuck with each other joking around, were not destroying their honor and must commit seppuku as we've dishonored each other. None of us care
Didn't know that would rile you all up so much
It's not about the ultimate honor you must at all times uphold, it's the fact that you're throwing shit at my car.
It's a joke to you guys but all we're trying to get across is that it's not in any way even remotely funny to us.
I have to respectfully disagree with you about the shocks. The Illuminas are decent for a street car but are not enough for the kind of springrates you want on a dedicated track car.
My recommendation would be to get Koni sports and ground control adjustable perches, or the next logical step up would be Tein monoflex "coilovers". Or, if youre really pinching pennies you can re-valve the billsteins with pretty good results.
Did you have an NB1 or NB2?
I ran a RB front swaybar on my NB1 with a stock rear swaybar and found the steering to be pretty neutral, maybe a little prone to understeer. From what Ive seen most NB2 guys will run with no rear swaybar or at the most just the stocker because their more prone to oversteering.
Sorry man, from personal experience I'd have to disagree. I ran Bilsteins and GC perches on the Miata before I ran the FM suspension setup, and the FM kit made a whole hell of a difference in the feel of the car. In my experience, the perches produced more oversteer and less traction during hard cornering than the illuminas did. The illuminas were also 5-way adjustable, I ran 4 at the track and 2 for DD, made for a mix between comfort and sport and only took 30 seconds to change the setting on all 4 shocks. The FM springs dropped the car nearly 1", which was perfect for DD and tracking it every weekend. It had front/rear sways, and running no sway on the rear sounds like a horrible idea, even the stock sway bars were an improvement over no sways at all?
NB1, I never had an NB2, so that might make a difference as I've never driven an NB2 before. My car had the Torsen LSD, as well.
Although I don't care about my car enough to know every single scratch, I'd still be pissed if someone started chucking shit at it.

*re-valved bilsteins
I agree that the Illuminas are better than stock Bilsteins, but there are much better options than the Illuminas. Theyre pretty much the bottom of the barrel option.
In fact, for a long time now real enthusiast have been giving FM a lot of flak for bothering with such a mediocre shock in their kits.
Buying a car to ram into stuff is better than throwing pennies at your friends car?
I don't understand you guys
Because you bought it to destroy it, I wouldn't mind beating up a car if I bought it for that reason, but you fuck with the car that I drive, fix, and take car of, then you made a bad decision.

Well he makes good money.. lets just put it this way...
But i have a deal with him, that when he makes his first million... He shall buy me a Skyline R33
Can you get him to buy me a wife?

Those long pillows with pictures on them can't be that expensive
Abrasion sores on my penis aren't so wonderful.
Those long pillows with pictures on them can't be that expensive
My girlfriend has one of those. Its normal sized though, not a full length pillow.
If I recall correctly its from Record of Agarest wars
Is he rich?
You don't need to be rich to own an Impreza and an Evo.
Kind of a little bit. Financially stable is a better term
In this day and age I'd say owning a V8 requires you to be richer than owning an Impreza or an Evo :v:
Hey guys I need to learn how to use a manual transmission for my future muscle car. Anyway since there isn't a single car rental place with cars with a manual transmission; does anyone know a cheap brand of car that would have a manual transmission and is common?

Most cheap cars can have manual transmissions. Just go to the rental place and ask for a car with a manual.
Woops I made a typo I mean't to say that there isn't any rental place around here that has cars with a manual. I heard it has to do with rental car palces being afraid of people burning out the clutches or something.

Have you tried racing sims?
It would be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a car just to learn manual.
Idk a racing sim doesn't sound like it would feel the same as driving an actual car.

For $250-700 for a wheel, pedals, and shifter, it's pretty damn close.
Been sitting in my truck, trying to figure out where i can squeeze in a tachometer and an analog clock...
May trim the gauge cluster up some to fit a tach on the right and a clock on the left.
Want it to look classy, not having a giant tach in my face on the dash like.
Also may put a clock up on the ceiling if i can find/get one made in the right shape.

Tach through the hood, clock in the dash.
woah
blew my mind, why did i not think of that.
SO, how easy is it to break a tachometer off of your hood with a tree branch while 4wheeling?
Idk a racing sim doesn't sound like it would feel the same as driving an actual car.
It depends on what you mean.
The handling physics on legitimate simulation software is pretty realistic, but the peripherals are never going to feel 100% right.
People think theyre slick with their little paddle shifting steering wheels hooked up to their computers doing this virtual racing but Id like to see them hop in a racecar with a 6 lb flywheel, twin-disk un-sprung clutch, and dog box transmission.

I cant believe they wouldnt put a tach in a car/truck from the factory.
Let me guess, S10?

Well I'll see. I've seen a few cars going for 700 and less with a manual. After I'm done learning I will just sell it off.

I'm sure that people who put hundreds down on sim peripherals, like me, would gladly hop in that seat.

Well you see i drive a 1/2 ton pickup from 1970, so i dont really need a tach, ive got feet and ears.
But i may put one in.
