Went and saw the 95 Prelude. Clutch is real easy, pulls nicely, drives well, it's a bit stiff on the suspension and I think the tire is rubbing. I'd probaly get a spacer while I save up for maybe new springs or coilovers.
Then again, the guy doesn't know if he can drop the price to $3500, eugh. Went and saw a '92 Integra, it was ghetto. The clutch would have trouble catching and then launch the car, and the last guy tried to tell him it was
a "racing clutch". I'm not experienced with clutches but it felt pretty broken.
Terrible time to buy a car but now I have money and just my sister's 90 Corolla to drive.

If the tires are rubbing spacers are just going to make it worse? Unless they're rubbing against the strut housing.
I was talking to a guy at the gas station about his third gen integra coupe he had. I told him i liked it, and he was telling me he was selling it for 3800. It looked really nice, and original. He had shaved doors with poppers instead of handles, which was kind of cool honestly, but other than that it looked stock. The interior was all leather and in excellent shape, and exterior was flawless as well. I didn't actually see if it was a manual or automatic, but it was pretty nice either way.

That's what it looked like (color condition, and wheels. Not the same one though)
I have to say, that generation integra with that style front end is my favorite fwd car ever.
Leather interior? Probably was a GS-R. $3800 isn't bad for a clean GS-R.
2001 BMW 330i for $6500 @150k miles. KBB is saying $4500 though, so I figure I'll haggle it down to thurt. Any opinions on the car?
How reliable are transmissions on BMW's? I know their electrics aren't so great, but if they have solid trannies it won't be a bad buy with a bit of haggling.
As far as I know, their transmission are built pretty tough. I know with the CDV installed you should look for clutch wear from the delayed engagement (See also: rip that mofo CDV out), but the transmission itself should be fine with proper care.
dat feel when some dumb cunt almost hits you head on because shes texting while driving and manages to hit the fogline on your side of the road while looking at her phone

Soda can for size comparison (It literally spans the whole length of my twin-size bed)

Does anyone possibly know why my engine just dies while clutching and sitting at lights randomly?
I recently put a new air filter because the old one was just sitting in there not really blocking dirt and dust from getting in the engine. The tighter seal is the only thing I can think of that is possibly causing that.

You're going to need to be a bit more specific with the details of your engine stall.

I'm just driving and it just dies.
The engine just stops, no loud sounds, nothing.
I'm clutching to brake at a light, and when I stop the engine isn't running.
Having the choke on a bit seems to fix it, though.
Took my bike to the shop where my cousin works so we could take a torch to the exhaust bolts that are seized. After breaking off the head (to get the exhaust off), the stud extractor only broke off both bolts at the engine so now the last hope is to drill them out. Fuck this bike, but at least now I can change the oil.
My 98 accord acted up on my way home,
Started it up drove and parked for a second to set my phone up to play music with my radio, Suddlenly my engine is burbling and rev's dropped to 500 then back to 1000 and then lowered it's self between 700-900, Now everytime i start the car or drive it idles below 1000
Usually idling in park or just in general it's around 1000-1100 on my rev meter. Whats up with this?

If working on exhaust bolts or anything you think might give you trouble, apply penetrating oil to the area to soak in for at least 24 hours before doing the job.
Whatever happened to the MS Paint car plan?
Didn't we discuss about this before?
Well I'm taking my Jeep tomorrow to maybe get the cat pulled off.
And how come (let's just use the new Mustangs as an example) even with flow masters or whatever, a V8 only sounds semi good when accelerating? It just sounds like an earthquake. Not the old school raspy, hollow, gurgle rumble. I've heard putting on short tube headers and the such helps, is that true?

When I was deciding on getting a bmw I was reading that the 1999(8?) - 2002 auto transmissions aren't too great but manual is fine.

What are the rules on cats in Florida again, isn't it if the car is made before 1996 that you don't need one? Because when I run a new engine in my volvo, I would rather run only a muffler on it.
No inspections in Florida so pretty much do what you want as long as it doesn't get cops attention.
My car sayed happy Valentines day to me, and almost crapped it's self.
Misfire codes, Low voltage codes, man this is a mess. I cleared them all I hope they don't come back.
:tinfoil:
My check engine light went out today :D
Probably that stupid MAF code that pertains to nothing.

I didn't read that correctly and started searching for Audi's saying Happy Valentines day...

Yeah basically do what you want, no ones going to stop you.

Go for it. Their transmissions are tough, can take a beating and live forever with periodical fluid changes. I've got no complains about the m54 motor, plenty of power (~230hp), reliable, and the parts aren't too expensive, especially if you know where to look. 65 is definitely way too much for that car though, if it's super clean I'd give him 5, but if it has faults 45 sounds a bit more reasonable.
Well, went and looked at the brightest yellow 1980 Mercury Capri I've seen, thinking it'd be a nice cheap RWD boxu for some dorifuto fun, was at a used car lot. Was going to see about getting it on payments if it was a couple grand or so.
Roll up in Collin's C5 'vette, get out, poke around, manual tranny. It's already looking good. All black interior, rear louvers, sunroof, venty hood... It's a 5.0 car.
12:1 comp pistons, Edelbrock high rise, 750 double pumper, duals with glasspacks dumped right before the rear axle... It's basically a little monster. Guy wants $3500.
If I had the money I'd love to have it. Didn't get to fire it up tonight but I bet it sounds like heaven, if heaven ran on exploding dinosaur bones.
If the tires are rubbing spacers are just going to make it worse? Unless they're rubbing against the strut housing.
Turns out it's also missing the thing that seals the exhaust manifold with the engine block. It has a small exhaust leak and the guy is claiming it never had one (Import H22A put in by a friend' uncle when he owned the car).
Fuck, not worth all the work it's turning out to be. I can't spend every single dime I have on a car that potentially needs the manifold machined if it's not flat enough.
I guess I'm shooting too high for my budget, except for the fact that there's a crap-load of nice cars in Vancouver, only problem being the bus-ride from Tsawassen to Vancouver is approx 3 hours, and taking a car-over costs nearly $150 round-trip.
I suppose I'll shop around Vancouver Craigslist to see if there's anything I really like, but all the cars I've fallen in love with so far keep turning out to have a variety of problems that weren't discovered until last minute.
On a positive note, my truck finally sold. I'm now driving the little AE92 Corolla I gave to my sister. Forgot how fun that thing was to drive, compared to my S10. Surprising how much a little 100HP inline 4 can haul. Almost makes me tempted to
buy this little Toyota SR5 Coupe I found. Person wants $2300 for it, but I'd say more around $1500.
I do agree that I'd probaly get bored of FWD though... I really want something nice and RWD. A 240SX would be perfect but finding one for sale here is impossibru. There's one with 250xxx on it and it's automatic? :/

That's what I was thinking, but he's insisting on using the price KBB gave for a dealership (The 6.5k), so I figure I'll just keep looking. I'd love to have that 330i, but unless there's some really good reason I don't care to pay an extra one or two grand for it.

I soaked it with PB before I worked on it the first time. Supposedly they pretty much corrode together because of different metals in the block and the bolt.
So this came up for sale yesterday.

Seems really clean and I think it actually looks quite good as it is. Opinions?
Main downside is that it's 200 miles away and I was supposed to be waiting til October for insurance to drop to a reasonable amount on these cars.
