Got a torque wrench.
Gapping at 0.41? Bradley, input? 0.40?
I might be getting a job at LKQ, a local auto salvage business.
Money is money, and I might be able to grab some things for the volvo.
I think mine are gapped at 0.060 right now, will gap them at 0.055 once I get the AL104 with the S/C. Hopefully it'll be the good gap.
WAY too much gap for SC imo, but that's the stock spec. Anywhere in 0.050-0.060 seems to be what people run

Employee discount at all? Would be good for you because then you get money + cheaper parts
I come from an Impala W-Body club, www.naioa.com, where a few decent Pala's remain and even a few Grand Prix too. I hope to get a 3900 Tune from will when I can afford it, everyone's saying he did wonders for a shelf tune.
Will is amazing for shelf tune, he's the one doing mine, and he's also the sourcing everything for me. He's a nice chap.

Which is why I'm going to run around 0.055. It's what I gathered from infos all over. But will ask Will about it too.

LKQ? Where at?
I wouldn't consider LKQ "local", it's a nationwide thing. There's an LKQ right by me.

Ah, I guess they are more spread out, I thought they were mainly on the East coast.

I hope you have plans for the trans. Everyone I know eats their in no time after a top-swap :P. Need to get a T.E.P. trans, Bullet proof.

Well the trans HD or non HD will start to get bad at 300bhp, with just the top swap I should be alright with daily driving and a bit of abuse there and there. If it lived up for 175xxxkm up to now, it should be alright for a bit more.
But I'll work around getting myself a good tranny around someday. But since me and my friends works on a project of having twin cars in different colors we're probably going to split costs again and get two trannies at the same time.
Also Fox, because you had W-body and stuff, I'm tempted to add you on steam to talk someday. :v:
regardless of HP ratings, If you drive it like you stole it your bound to cook a few clutchpacks and valves :V:.
and feel free to add me.
Oh god spaghetti pouring out of pockets just asked girl out on date

Well anyone beating their care senselessly should pay with their tranny :v:
But i don't want to D:
My tranny used to kinda resist going into 4th
Now it.resists second but not forth
Though on my way home it popped right into every gear as I requested
Not sure if bad.
I'm getting worried,
Looking through all these threads on google that are like, you need a cat converter even though we have no emission inspection here in Florida, and the exhaust cant be louder than stock bullshit.
But I have seen so may people run with no cats or super loud mufflers here, it's confusing as hell.
I mean my car is an 89 and almost 25 years old, I thought there would be a cutoff point to where the cops wouldnt care.
Anyone get fined yet for catless exhausts?
I heard from my best friend, that it is cars 1996 and newer have this law mandated, so does it not apply to me?
Look here, http://www.epa.gov/oms/consumer/warr95fs.txt
It applies to cars 1995 and newer?

Sweet, that law means i can cut the cat off my blazer and cops can't do a ~thing~
Sweet, that law means i can cut the cat off my blazer and cops can't do a ~thing~
I already cut the cat off my blazer. FUCK THE POLICE!
I was gonna run my brand new exahust 2.5" back with a cherrybomb muffler.
I might just have to switch to a quieter muffler depending on how the cherrybomb sounds, so it wont attract attention to the lack of a cat converter.
In my state it's illegal to cut off a catalytic converter, but not illegal to run without one. So a lot of catalytic converters... disappear, if you know what I mean.
My jeep has no cat
Or muffler
Have yet to get any shit.other than typical hurr durr 25 in a 25 you speding cos car loud

What It came with one on it? Holy smokes were did it go?
(Kinda the reason I have mine hallowed out) tehehe.

You had your hollowed out because your precious German car sucked nuts
0.44 is stock... 0.40 imo
Pulled, measured. 0.044 when I checked. Did 0.040. Also my torque wrench sucked so I changed to torque bar. Real-time updating and more accurate, yes.
I envy you all outside my California bubble. I get busted for no cat. Best I can do is go for a legal high-flow cat. Because we have to "protect the environment" bullshit. All the while USDM muscle gets to blow farts all day as well as the factories and refineries near the beach polluting the water and the air quality
Herp derp, I always write spark plug gaps wrong (.40 a la .040)
What torque wrench were you using? A click type? Those are way better than "torque bars" imo. I use Snap-On wrenches, I have a short 3/8" drive and a long 1/2" drive.

The click-type. But in this job instance, I needed to be extremely accurate because that one did not click at lower measurements which was a bummer. I'd rather be accurate than strip the head.
Extender and socket is 3/8 and the torque is 1/2. I have random ratchet wrenches too. I hate spending so much money on such a simple car, its ridiculous without the right tools. At least I can make sure I measured the tightness on my bolts correctly now.
Well, spark plugs don't need to be ultra-tight. I always use a regular ratchet, and spin the plug down with one finger, until it stops, and then put 1/8 turn on it.
The only thing I torque is rod bolts, crank caps, cam caps, and head bolts. The rest is hand tightened to personal feel, or lightweight impact.
Personally I found the bar type wrenchs to stay accurate longer, but they aren't as convient to use.

Not my car's fault I over filled my oil and it decided to ruin my cats.

I...
*sigh*
Goddammit guys, the runaway diesel videos earlier inspired me to watch videos about engines on youtube all night... again.
