I would imagine it's more of a peace of mind thing
I'd feel a little more comfortable if I had an air filter on my turbo. Not that I'll ever have a turbo on this car but
So in other words, anywhere that isn't a public road.
Don't know how it is where you live but all our public roads are paved...
Don't know how it is where you live but all our public roads are paved...
by this logic why put filters on road cars?
Why are we arguing about air filters?
because auto>manual
Does anyone have any experience in selling stock rims and tires? I am looking into getting aftermarket rims and tires and selling the stock ones to get money back but is it difficult? I feel like not many people will want to buy them. On the bright side my rims have no scratches, and the tires are pretty new with minor tread wear
depends on the car and if the stock wheels are desirable/of a certain trim level.
[QUOTE=bradley;36598609
well, you snipped but still.
Also, I already have to avoid driving the Civic in pretty much all those places even sans-turbo, since I don't run a timing cover. Loose pebbles and twigs could destroy my timing belt.
It's all about taking care to drive your car. Being responsible.
Yeah I'd rather have 2 more parts and have fun with my car instead of driving 5mph everywhere because there might me some rocks
Why is everyone arguing about this? Seriously, who cares? In the extremely rare event that some kind of particle happens to magically weave its way up through the inside of that bit of 'subframe' if you will, that the turbo intake leads into, past all the bits and pieces that make up the entirety of the front end of the car, and furthermore happens to make it into the engine and fuck something up, then let it be his problem for not spending $20 on some tubing and a cone filter from autozone to reroute the intake to a spot that could fit a filter. But like bradley has already said, this shit has been done millions of times and I've personally not heard of anyone having problems.
And regardless, there's nothing to fight about here. Come on.
My friends peugeots air filter was fully blocked because of sand/dust, I wouldn't want all that inside my engine
240sx's seem rad as fuck. is it hard to find a decent-condition one for a fair price and what's the insurance like?
240s are cool but a lot of them will be beat to shit especially if it's a 5-speed. they're hella common in california where I live but it depends on where you are.
240sx's seem rad as fuck. is it hard to find a decent-condition one for a fair price and what's the insurance like?
They are rad if you know why you're going to get one. I'm fixing two and I love it. Keep in mind the age and costs. Money is the main issue here you get what you pay for
Please don't get one to let someone else fix it. You really gotta do your own wrench time with this car. Bradley will agree here. If that's too much, theres other cars
just bought new cat and o2 sensor to hopefully make me pass inspection. Gotta take the car to the shop to fix this oil leak and coolant leak though, i have a fucking feeling this block is going to be constant bad news
Finally going out to pick up a replacement door today. Let's hope it's not rusted to shit
Or the person and door is not even there. Fuck it, I'll let the body shop buy one.
I just purchased my ticket to go see the Formula 1 race at the new Circuit of The Americas in Austin! I'm excited, i've always wanted to see/hear F1 cars in real life! Plus all of the drivers.
Plus the wrecks
I hate small Swedish number plates

They look so stupid
the stang does make the plates look stupid
Plus the wrecks
I'd rather watch them duke it out touching tires and not wreck.
[editline]3rd July 2012[/editline]
But i ordered a new lens for my camera as well (so you guys can finally stfu :v: about it), and will be taking photographs.
[editline]3rd July 2012[/editline]
Turns out you can't bring a camera, wtf. Oh well i guess i'll take mental pictures and be seriously disappointed about that fact.
[editline]3rd July 2012[/editline]
Actually i keep finding contradicting answers, but i might be able to. I surely hope so, it would make the experience so much better.
[editline]3rd July 2012[/editline]
I feel fairly confident i will be able to take pictures at this point, but they are still only going to be with a 50mm lens, behind a fence, so they wont be great(It's kind of a personal enjoyment thing, as always). I might try to borrow a friends lens for the trip that has a better focal length.
the stang does make the plates look stupid
It looks stupid on more or less everything, since most cars that can't fit a normal EU plate are made for US plates (well except JDMs but I don't know the measurements of japanese plates)
[editline]4th July 2012[/editline]
Also it means you can't buy silly license plate holders :((((
Changed my oil today. Mobil High Mileage. Aww yiss.
I saw a car on fire for the first time ever today. It had melted the headlight housings and the fire was coming out of both headlights. Looked pretty badass, but I feel bad for the owner as the firefighters there were just sitting there and not doing anything about it.

Mightymax was banned? Was it permanent? Please be permanent. I'm tired of him trolling in AA. He's just a general dick, too.
Also, fuck, C4 Corvettes are like kryptonite to my shit. Why do I always have the urge to give away everything I own for one?
