You know what's hilarious
I kinda still wanted a corvette over my Lude
[editline]3rd July 2012[/editline]
I just like how sporty those coupes out of that era looked, like look at a C4 corvette and tell me it isn't pretty without lying to yourself
brad you had your chance but you threw it away
just right out the door
He's got a nother one in his sights already.
the scion frs has the most retarded commercials ever "bringing sport back to the car"
Pretty sure sport never left and I love their emphasis on shit like 6 speed transmissions and RWD. Good job scion for catching up with the rest of the world, you're only 20 years late
Dug up some old pictures of the dart I want to buy, emailed the guy again today, hopefully he is just busy.

It looks like what a $1200 car would be, I'm thinking of beating out the dents, sort of fixing the rust, and then coat the whole car in primer so it's at least 1 color. I'm going to paint the hood black and then take it off, put on the metal one from my car and keeping the fiberglass one for mine after I sell this car. I don't know what the guy has and doesn't have from the car and I'm hoping I do not have to find a pair of grille bezels for the car or elce I will have to use the '68 grille from my car on it so it at least looks complete.
If I can get it for $1200 then I'll be a happy camper as the car will hold that price all it's life, should be fun to cruise with for the summer.

what cheaper sports cars are made today?
mx-5?
I'm rather sure that's about it, that's what they're all about, it's a more affordable sports car compared to everything that's around now really.
to be honest there's not alot of sportscars around, it's mostly what they call "supercars"
[QUOTE=bradley;36615579]Mightymax was banned? Was it permanent? Please be permanent. I'm tired of him trolling in AA. He's just a general dick, too.

yeah that guy's a real tool
So yeah, was out looking at that Mercedes Benz 250 CE (posted some pics of it in the photos of your cars thread). Need a bit of advice on it, I'm not too sure yet. It's an old car so it obviously has a few nags. There's a list on the side of it which is hanging on by tape and the interior is pretty much done for. It has a new engine, only has about 4000 km on it.
There's only one problem that makes me not want to buy this at current moment - it shakes like fuck when going above 3000 RPM. It's most likely not the engine or gearbox, so we're thinking it might be a bend axle. Here's a couple pics of it, I'd like to know what you people have to say.
oh and the price of it is 5900 dollars. guy was really nice though and wouldn't mind taking a bit off it (even though it seems pretty reasonable).
there's more pictures in [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/68305697@N04/sets/72157630422506460/]this link[/url] (16). They're pretty high res so I'm just taking the important ones.

[t]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8020/7502599148_8fa4eb9530_b.jpg[/t]
and the interior which needs total redoing, pretty much. Everything works, it's just unoriginal parts and general usage.

So yeah. I'm no mechanic but I've done simple stuff (like installing new speedometers, seats, panels, etc). Car needs to be in good mechanical condition because if it's not, then it's most likely out of my budget.
Aw shit me and mightymax were gonna be the broest bros to ever bro. Fack.
How about I just buy a [I]Jaaaaaag[/I]

I read that in Jeremy Clarkson's voice which is what I hope you were intending.
So...Um.
I replaced my old single wire O2 sensor with a new 4 wire(3 wire?) O2 sensor. It came with a harness and all I had to do was splice the wire into something powered up while the ignition is on. Didn't do that last night, but I drove around with it unpowered(essentially what I had, but a brand new O2 sensor, right?) and it worked fine, with no codes. Well I just spliced the wire into what I believe to be my fuel pump circuit, and when I started my truck I got a SES light. Checked the code and it was a code 45.
[quote]This is the description of a Code 45 as set on GM products It is an indication of a rich mixture as indicated by the oxygen sensor readings.
Circuit description: The ECM supplies a voltage of about .45 volts between the appropriate terminals of the sensor. (If measured with a ten megohm DVM, this may read as low as .32 volt). The O2 sensor varies the voltage within a range of about one volt, if the exhaust is rich, down thru about .10 volt, if exhaust is lean.[/quote]
My exhaust does stink now, but it's always kinda stunk. So, was my old cruddy O2 sensor just not picking anything up and not throwing a code, or did I fuck something up? :\
[editline]4th July 2012[/editline]
It does seem to idle a little better, but it could be my imagination. :v:
[editline]4th July 2012[/editline]
[quote]Diagnostic aides:
1.) The code 45 for rich exhaust is most likely caused by one or more of the following:
a. fuel pressure - system will go rich, if pressure is too high. The ECM can compensate for some increase. However, if it gets too high, a code 45 will be set.
b. Leaking injector or rich injector - perform an injector balance test. Check for fuel contamination in the oil..
HEI shielding - an open ground ckt 453 may result in EMI, will result in induced electrical "noise". The ECM looks at this noise as reference pulses. The additional pulses result in a higher than actual engine speed signal. The ECM then delivers too much fuel, causing the system to go rich. The engine tachometer will, also, show higher than actual engine speed, which can help in diagnosing this problem.
d. Canister purge - check for fuel saturation. If full of fuel, check canister control and hoses.
e. MAP sensor - an output that causes the ECM to sense a higher than normal manifold pressure (low vacuum) can cause the system to go rich. Disconnecting the MAP sensor will allow the ECM to set a fixed value for the MAP sensor. Replace the sensor if the rich condition goes away when the sensor is disconnected.
f. TPS - an intermittent TPS output will cause the system to go rich, due to a false indication of the engine accelerating.
[b]g. O2 sensor contamination - Inspect oxygen sensor for silicone contamination from coolant, lead contamination from fuel or improper RTV sealant. Silicone contamination will be indicated by a Code 45 and lean drivability conditions and a powdery white deposit on the sensor. The ECM will then reduce the amount of fuel delivered to the engine causing a severe surge drivability problem.[/b]
Check for a leaking fuel pressure regulator by checking the vacuum line to the regulator. If there is fuel in the vacuum line, replace the regulator.[/quote]
Old vs New
Haven't had any surge or drivability issues.

Although I did use a little bit of Copper anti Seize shit that came with the new o2 sensor?
[editline]4th July 2012[/editline]
And it doesn't overheat.
[editline]4th July 2012[/editline]
I'll go drive it around the block and hopefully the code will go away.

LS1 swap
We need an LS1 rating...
[editline]4th July 2012[/editline]
I got grounded, keys and cellphone taken away.
Kinda glad i came home tired as fuck, probably would of thrown some fists at my dad for taking my keys if i hadn't been in zombie mode.
This sucks :suicide:
Yeah started it up again, and the code was gone. :v: Next I'll take my truck down and get my new muffler welded in. Or wait maybe. I got 3 months till I gotta pass emissions for the final time.
Me and a colleague decided to efficiently use up all the cabin space in a first gen Miata. We're both heavyweighters so we thought it'd be a good idea. Me in the black t-shirt :v:
Bonus info: The owner, my friend, thanked us for lowering his car!

I'm trying to buy the touch-up paint to fix the scratches on my 2001 honda, but I can't seem to find the exact paint anywhere, are there other colors that are the same thing, but just different codes?
the one i was looking for is NH623M-A
I've visited several O'Reilly and Pepboys stores around here and there is none. Not even any colors that start with NH.
A google search comes up with a chinese paint pen
