i'm calling the cops!! you're going to kill yourself
I run 93 in the Civic, and 87 in the Celica.
They sell 85 in the US? I've never seen 85 at a pump. That's sub-regular octane. Pretty sure it's illegal to put that in pumps in some states, actually.
87 in my truck, 91 if I have a little extra cash for gas, haven't tried 93 premium though.
The Coronet has 10:1 compression and it runs fine on 87 octane, probably better with 93 though
93 octane doesn't exist where I live. 91 is maximum here in Northern California. Going by the (R+M)/2 octane ratings, of course.
93 isn't at every station, but Shell carries it, there's only one station around here that has it.
Sucks that in Cali they only get 91, I don't know why. Kind of stupid.
I run 98 Octane. My wallet cry's. Once I put avgas in her ONCE 115/145 the purple shit.
She ran well. That tank of gas went by really quickly due to my foot.
we have 95E10 and 98E5, and Shell V-power
I use 98, because I don't want some watered down shit in my car
I can't wait to get my scirocco back to the states, here they have loads of the 16V engines.
I'm thinking of getting one of them and turbo-ing it then dropping it into her. But I'm going to keep the 8V engine because they are still pretty hard to find here in the states.

on the east coast, all we have is 87 89 and 93
I don't get why we dont have 91, it's stupid
We should have 87 91 and 93
What's the point of 89 mid grade anyways?

probably because people will buy 93 instead of 89
Here we've got.. 87, 89, 91, wish I had 93 :(

In Germany I run 90 through my scirocco, I guess I can settle for 89 when I get back to the states.
At the station I go to it has 87 69 91 and 93. They also have the lowest prices. Sunoco ftw.

I remember one here had fuckin race gas, which I've never seen before.

Well sunoco is the official fuel of nascar.
After doing alot of reading it seems that a SR20 swap into my ae86 is the most logical choice.
1) All sr20's start at 200hp or more, this is 50hp short of my initial power goal as opposed to starting at 160 with the 20v swap (would leave 90hp to my first power goal while still going a swap anyway.) And if I did no swap it would start at 120hp (130hp to go, more than doubling the hp of the engine)
2) Sr20s are more available than silvertops.
3) Its been done enough times to where a kit is already available -> http://www.jspfab.com/catalog/i60.html
3) the sr20 has plenty of tuning capabilities.
4) the sr20 has similar weight distribution to the 4age, but is heavier.
5) Its a bit of a oxymoron, nissan powered toyota?!?
6) The customization is negligible and can be done with basic tools.
I would've SR20'd already by now if it were legal here in CA. Heck, I'd be happy with a CA18 I don't really feel like changing the title every time I get pulled over.
Also, I didn't know there was race fuel station not far from me. I might try their 100 octane one of these days I get extra dough

Fuck Cali, they have a ton of SR20 swapped ones here with the occasional RB26s.

I know they're dirt cheap and super easy to drop in. Would love it. But for a daily, it's just not practical and more trouble than it's worth. I'd just turbo this single cam or turbo a dual cam later on. Then I'd buy a second 240 then trackstar that :)
Super jelly of you out of California people
Here we've got.. 87, 89, 91, wish I had 93 :(
Isn't our 91 technically 93 on a vaguely different scale or some shit?
New Mexico, or at least Albuquerque's fuel is absolute shit. Not only is our 91 (the highest you can get out of a pump) equivalent to about 86 in Cali, but I've never seen so much DIRT. Half the gas we put in is fucking dirt...Wreaks havoc on our fuel pumps and filters at the cab co, they don't last very long.
[editline]8th July 2012[/editline]
I'd kill for some higher octane fuel...Not that i need it seeing as I'm not boosted but still.
Why is there mid-grade gasoline? I've never seen a car take mid-grade.
