Warped rotor/ seized caliper or something like that.
The rotor is brand new, worked fine yesterday, don't think it's warped. I might have air in my brake fluid, so I'm gonna bleed it and clean the bolt of the calipers...

Yeah that's probably it. Bubbles in the lines, locking your brakes.
Warped rotor/ seized caliper or something like that.
Huh. Didn't think I even posted that. Did you make sure you got the bushings in? When I got my truck whoever did the brakes last, I have no idea when or who, didn't and torqued the bolt all the way down so the caliper was clamped on the rotor. >:|
I knew it was gonna need new brakes, but I was putting it off, and didn't know it was as bad as it was until the pedal sunk to the floor at a light and I almost rolled into a car in front of me. :v:
I replaced everything, both rusty ass rotors and both rusty ass calipers, one of which had it's piston eaten by the rotor, and the actual surface of the rotor was down to about 1mm. I was able to break off chunks with my fingers. D:
Had my brother help me(he pumped the brakes) bleed the lines and now it stops pretty damn good. The pedal is solid, not spongy like my dads truck. Still gotta do my drums though.
Not sure anout rhe bushings...
On my truck at least(it's GM so it's gotta be at least distantly related, right? :v:) it's a metal tube that goes in the bolt hol...Like this:

One of my new calipers didn't come with one, but the other did, so I think that might have something to do with the original caliper getting torqued down all the way.

Does your wheel spin freely? It's the back right, and your FWD right?
Yeah FWD, and my caliper bolt doesn't have those tube around. Just a bolt that holds the braket and caliper together.
And my rear wheel on the passenger side spins normally, and my other jams at one spot of the rotor.
But I'm not sure if it's a rotor defect or the caliper that tore it. But the caliper compress fine and stuff.
Gonna go get another rotor tomorrow.
i'd like to thank AA for being one of the least retarded sections
Finally got in contact with the ~RoTaRyMaStEr~ (Sean) and discussed build options. We'll have a price quote Monday, which is when i get paid, and will bump me well over the amount required to start with the build. Which he could do in about 2 weekends, if he worked diligently on it. So basically, not too much longer and I'll have a new engine that will easily last 300,000 more miles and have a killer streetport to give me enough pep to keep up with the LS1 guys. It's gonna cost me a bit more than i thought it would (About 1400 give or take) but it's worth it to have a reliable DD that will get me to school in Arizona without even having to have it towed over, and still have fun at the track on the weekends. Can't wait.
Got my GF's 240 diagnosed at another shop. All the while my old mechanic is still trying to rip me off. $1000 for a headgasket job what. Really, costs as much as a used SR20 or RB26 front clip
240 is garage king again for a little while until I can scrounge some money
Anyone here deal with getting interiors re-upholstered? I want my front seats re-done in black. Im looking to change my carpets and all to black. I figure I can use something like plasti-dip to do all the panels on the inside.
did some donuts and burnouts today with my friend and his 87 corvette. did them in some empty parking lot near some soccer fields and a game was on. the entire game stopped and watched us, it was cool
then we had a drag race and obvs he got off the line way quicker but i could keep up with him after a few seconds but if we had more rode, he would've won. oh well were pretty close together
Am I the only one who can't wait for something to break on their car? it gives me an excuse to put new stuff on it/go to the junkyard. Personally i'm waiting for the engine to croak so i can drop that 396 i scoured out of a junked camaro at the junkyard ( :( ) a couple years ago. It's been sitting with nothing for it to be in.
I love that feel when your car has something new. Even more when it's something very obvious, like new paint or rims
I like having new stuff but I hate when icky stuff happens after new stuff is installed. :v:
Hey-O, im stepping on an airplane to go out to Colorado for a week. Will take photos of any cool cars I come across...

I bet you could not even hammer a nail into there bum after that.
Fixed my brake problem, the loud fucking knocking banging whatever was caused by a little metal chunk jamming between the rotor and the hub, cleaned the whole inside and now it works wonder.
my brakes made a clunking sound, upon investigating it I found that both the bolts holding the brake caliper in place had disappeared
My passenger wheel was making a bad clanking and pulling back and forth every time i hit the brakes about 4 months ago. Turned out that 1 of my 2 bolts that connect the lower control arm to the knuckle was completely missing. That kinda scared me, i was lucky the second one didn't back itself out.

That was a long time ago though.
The loud knocking the little bit of metal that jammed the disc was damn scary.
Took a picture of that damned bit of metal, the drum-in-hat shoe pusher.
