Actually, all of this "Pandora" integration into cars and stuff seems to just be ipod/phone integration with some tacked on i/o with the deck since it's internet based after all. Seems lame to me, I'll keep my aux cable and flash drives since the deck I bought 2 years ago still works great.
Dont know why you guys dont just keep 20 cassette tapes in your car, along with an mp3 player adapter.
Dont know why you guys dont just keep 20 cassette tapes in your car, along with an mp3 player adapter.
Because this is 2012. I know you drive your hick jeep and all but we enjoy this thing called "technology". [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] this is sarcasm btw, not trying to be a jackass.
cassettes are the true lossless audio format.
MightyMax, we can't enjoy old technology? does it have to be always newer technology? we'd all be driving 2012 tubwagens if that were true
it was sarcasm, my truck barely has any technology either. Almost all mechanical (the way it should be)
MightyMax, we can't enjoy old technology? does it have to be always newer technology? we'd all be driving 2012 tubwagens if that were true
How about 1999 tubwagens with Audi RNS-E :v:
Sirius-XM should be free to people with a receiver. It has ads in it now, which is against the WHOLE SELLING POINT of the goddamned thing. What i'd like to see is Pandora in radios, which some cars have with their radio system now.
Odd, I listen to it every once in a while and hear no ads. What channels have ads on them?
cassettes are the true lossless audio format.
nope. vinyl records are.
>Hitler owned one so it must be bad Don't complain to us about not making sense
hitler wanted a "people's car" that everyone could afford, and had Ferdinand Porsche make one guess what it was I actually don't have that big of a problem with the car, it's just that most of the owners think they have something special and need to bring it up always

It's snobby Beetle owners you don't like, not the car. Which is what you make it sound like now at least. Also the car is special. Do you know of any other car that has been in production for almost 70 years without much change in the design and sold over 20 million? I've loved them ever since I first saw one 17 (or so) years ago and last year I finally bought one. Of course I'll be proud of owning it even though it is an extremely unsafe and slow car with almost absolutely no technology. It's my daily driver in the summer
Got my car back from the stealership on Friday. Drove around for a while and the light out indicator light came on. I was like huh. I took it in for this. I open the trunk, take out the tail light assembly on the drivers side, and they have installed a bulb that is too large for the mount and it has melted the mounting point and shattered the bulb. I'm mad. Taking it back in as soon as they open in 45 mins.

My sister's looking to replace her minivan since basically if anything happens to it at this point it's totaled (my dad disagrees and says a 1995 Dodge Caravan with rusted, flaking paint, a nonfunctional door and leaking hoses is worth $2000 at least) She says a coworker's sister is selling a 1999 civic with about the same mileage as my car (98000) for $2000. I say okay that's not an awful price and then she mentions if its a manual she doesn't want it. I'm like "why the civic is probably one of the easiest manuals to drive" and she kinda dodges the question

I would suggest maybe opting for a mid-size SUV
well stick shifts on minivans are silly anyway, but she's too spoiled on automatic. I would have gotten a manual Prelude if I could but I couldn't find a decent one
Are people allowed to drive manuals even if they took their license with an automatic in the US? That'd be silly [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] IIRC if you take your license with an automatic in Sweden you can't legally drive a manual
I don't think so, but driving a manual should be a skill everyone should have anyway. Why not start her off on a easy ol' Civic?
IIRC if you take your license with an automatic in Sweden you can't legally drive a manual
This is correct, there is auto license and manual license, but on the manual license, you're allowed to drive an auto legally (I think)
IIRC if you take your license with an automatic in Sweden you can't legally drive a manual
It's the same here in Norway. Also the first auto I ever drove was my Jeep :v: Everything else I've owned has been manual
It is also the same way in Britain
Am i the only one who did their driving test in a sports car? My driving instructor was really pleased when she got into our G8 GXP. A bit unprofessional you could say, as she was running her hands on the seats and arm rest on the door. It's funny how the G8 GXP was easier to drive than the Malibu i did my driver's ed in (it was a shitty state funded car, not mine at all) [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] I really miss this thing :(
This is correct, there is auto license and manual license, but on the manual license, you're allowed to drive an auto legally (I think)
Here it's auto license and normal license. If you did your test in an auto you get the auto license and can only drive automatic car but if you take it in a manual you'll get a normal license and can drive whatever car (and all sizes of ATVs) you want as long as it's under 3.5 tons.. or tonnes idk. 3500 kg.
(I think)
That's correct
Here in Florida, if you take your test in an auto and pass, you can still drive a manual. Even if you dont know whatthefuck youre doing lol In a way it's nice, cause I took my test in an auto, and a few months later bought my standard Focus :) Didnt need to take another test.

In the concrete area they used for the test, the tires rubbed between both curbs for the three point turn, and the space to parallel park in was smaller than the length of the truck. :v: In AZ anyways, a drivers license is good for both a manual and an automatic. It can be used for anything that carries less than 10 passengers and has fewer than three axles(motorcycles excluded).
