It ain't murder if you say please.
Nor Rape if you yell surprise. [editline]20th July 2012[/editline]
I've never had to go to court for a ticket. I always just pay them the next day. Mainly because I know what I was doing is against the law (Not wearing seatbelt for last one, which was $20, and then speeding before that, which was much more but still, I wasn't paying attention to the limit signs) and I don't want to puss out of paying a ticket. [editline]20th July 2012[/editline] To clarify, not saying you guys are pussing out of paying tickets. I just meant, I knew what I was doing was basically straight up so I couldn't have gotten out of it. That and I hate having to explain myself. Court sucks.
I don't know about the rest of the US, but around here the ticket usually gets cut in half just for showing up for court.
Twin turbo, they won't see it coming. I guess you can't really tell with the low superchargers also but twin turbos are infinitely cooler. I love it when the exhaust comes out the front fenders in front of the door like on my dads car, looks sick.
Yeah, but I love the sound from a supercharger.
Car has been running fine so far, just afraid since there are puddles of what look like to be oil or auto trans fluid under the car, but I haven't been losing either from what the dipsticks tell me. At least I know i'm not losing any engine oil. It might be from that scary time I lost 1.5qts of oil from a pcv malfunction and oil is slowly dripping off the block.
So I sent my car in to get the head gasket replaced and the head resurfaced by a shop. I get a call today that the last guy who replaced my timing belt had fitted my camshaft with the wrong seals. No damage but ugh....
Just finished talking with an admissions advisor for NADC (Nashville Auto Diesel College) once the paperwork runs through on there end I'll be enrolled for the spring '13 semester
Do what I did, get a supercharger, yeah, it'll cost alot, but in my opinion it was worth it.
I dont know if I could ever justify a supercharger on a v6 and a twin turbo is retarded expensive. But it would be pretty cool!
so I bought a Baja'd '67 beetle a week ago.. It's either gonna kill me trying to get it back on the road or kill me when I do get it back on the road, i'm not sure which yet. It runs and drives (well, the axle boots are torn to shit so the driving part wouldn't be a good idea right now since there's probably almost no tranny fluid in the tranny) but, seeing as I live in New Hampshire, the floor pans are pretty rough and the heater channels are all but totally rusted out. Oh well, I've wanted an air cooled beetle for a while now and I found this one and it was too good to pass up. The engine (1500cc) sounds great, according to the PO it was rebuilt <20k ago. I don't know if I believe that fully but it has been rebuilt somewhat recently, though it may have sat after getting rebuilt since a good part of the fuel line (I believe it was OEM german, braided cloth over rubber) was totally dry rotted.. I replaced that yesterday and now the thing runs/idles even better. I'll see if I can snap some pictures of the ugly bitch (but like.. awesome in it's own ugly way, like a really ugly bulldog, it's still awesome) today, I always go to snap pictures and end up working on it until it gets dark out and realizing I forgot to take pictures. edit: incoming pictures of stuff and things Car/engine bad flat black spray job, it's old and peeling.. factory color was like a light blue, the interior is still the factory paint and seats as far as I can tell [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/79488177/IMAG0438.jpg[/thumb][thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/79488177/IMAG0439.jpg[/thumb] Huh, that's weird, my frame horns are soaked in oil.. (the tubes in the back are the bottom of the rear bumper, I haven't finished mounting it yet) [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/79488177/IMAG0447.jpg[/thumb] Well, I'll be damned.. I believe I've found my problem! I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to look like that.. [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/79488177/IMAG0445.jpg[/thumb] Overall it's rough but I wouldn't want it any other way. By the time I'm done, I'll know every inch of the car and although I'm not going for a crazy purist resto or anything but I don't mind spending money into it because I fully intend to drive this thing all the time through at least three quarters of the year (and then drop the engine and tranny and wrench on those in the nice warm shop come winter!)
Just finished talking with an admissions advisor for NADC (Nashville Auto Diesel College) once the paperwork runs through on there end I'll be enrolled for the spring '13 semester
I had a friend who went there. After graduating, he couldn't find a job. He majored in car engines, dunno the exact name.

My Scirocco broke down on the way to the nurburgring. I was about an hour away from home then my car died. We tried to get it going but the only thing we concluded is the timing belt must have slipped a tooth. We have spark, gas, and air but no fire. So were down to timing. We almost got it going by turning the distributor but then nothing. So now my car is stuck at a garage an hour away with Germans who can't speak english and of course no one in europe works on the weekend.

I hope you'll have fun with it.
That's a beauty, I'm jealous. I hope you'll have fun with it.
The fun/hard/ohgodineedmorealcohol part is getting it back on the road.. One of my buddy's dads runs an inspection station so I think as long as it's just the rust holding me back he would give me a sticker (he drives an old air cooled beetle so I figure that could be the selling point hahaha) but I'd rather get a totally legitimate sticker if I can afford it. Once I change the axle boots and fill the tranny back up, I'll probably start driving it a little here and there on a 20 day paper plate but I want to get oil temp + pressure and other miscellaneous gauges just to be sure I don't go and cook my engine.. Not having anyone around here that sells any parts is a pain, too. I have to order EVERYTHING which is instantly an extra 10% cost if not more just to cover shipping.

I was thinking about investing in a Saab 9-2x Aero. What happens if you need to get it serviced now that Saab has gone bust?
So I traced down the leak while working with shit on my car. turns out it is the oil return from the turbo to the oil pan, probably the line is a bit loose and just have to go under the car to be tightened.
awww yeah got some non-ricer taillights. Cadillac taillights specifically.
Going to look at these 2 trucks with my cousin tomorrow, I'm so excited! http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1977-Dodge-Power-Ram-1500-Pickup-Truck-W0QQAdIdZ397333437 Going to go 50/50 with him if they seem OK. Why I really like this deal is because I have the potential to build my dream truck from these. I want to take the body off of the white truck, put it on the green trucks frame, and put the green truck on the 4x4 frame. This will give me my dream truck (for the most part) and the ultimate 4x4 offroad truck which will sell for 3 grand EASY. I will then sell my white ram and using the money I get from that restore the white truck. Me and him are going to have a little fun with them before we do the body swap, and after. So there will be open header burnout videos, conker is going to love that. I wonder if I would be able to fool insurance when I do the body swap, it will still be an old white pickup with the stock drivetrain. Has anyone taken the cab and front end off of a truck, is it fairly easy?
I was thinking about investing in a Saab 9-2x Aero. What happens if you need to get it serviced now that Saab has gone bust?
The 9-2X is basically a Subaru with some different body panels. Servicing should be fine.
Servicing Saab is still extremely possible through aftermarket parts. Any well established mechanic or one with a brain knows there are plenty of aftermarket players in the saab game. Alot of them are competing on dominance in the market acutally trying to take the place of saab's official parts market.
Got my new O2 sensor in, hesitation issue gone. My new plugs have carbon on the end, too rich fuel mixture, feels so smooth now. Driving home from the test drive, Golf GTI pulls up next to me at the light. We both floor it uphill, I lost. He's turbocharged. Round 2, light 2, we peel out and are at even matched. Until this Toyota Brotacoma just flies past us both in the lane between us. Then my check engine light came on again. Go home to fight another day
I'm finally home! Colorado was great minus the shooting... [t]http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/531335_4359046303269_1387729205_n.jpg[/t] [t]http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/552726_4359046583276_1124564243_n.jpg[/t]

Go home to fight another day
reminds me of when i stomped ricers in my old GMC. Update on that thing btw, the new owner put some 17" torque thrust rims on it, put a stick shift in it, new carb (runs and sounds so FUCKING good), new bench seat (I got the racing seats back), and new fender, doors, and bed panel. Other than those, he's keeping the thing exactly how i had it. [editline]22nd July 2012[/editline] wish i had new pictures of it :\
someone pls pay for my speeding ticket
