Yeah, I'm looking specifically for a pearl white Kouki running the SR20DET. Wouldn't want an NA Silvia lol. I actually didn't think the S14A was even produced with the KA or NA SR20DE engine, all the ones I've looked at so far has the SR20DET. Also I'd normally agree with you on the headlights, I generally dislike aggressive looking cars, but goddamn, Kouki headlights make me moist. Once I sell my A4, I'ma have about 10,5 to spend. So goddamn stoked.
You know kouki is basically an adjective, right? Something labelled as kouki just generally refers to the "last facelift" of a model's run. Examples of kouki: Kouki AE86 Kouki 180SX (The S13 with popups in other countries): Kouki EK Civic: USDM CRX with JDM Kouki equipment (Kouki clone): Kouki GTO (Or "3000GT/Stealth" over here in the US): Kouki FD RX7: And that's just some of the more popular ones. So just remember, when you say you want a kouki, just specify what you want, since kouki basically just means "last facelift", so anything near the end of the year range can and generally is referred to as a kouki model in Japan. It's a Japanese term though, so don't go running around calling your 1999 Dodge Neon a kouki Neon because it was the last year of the first gen Neon. That's just silly. Anyways, I gather that you're looking for a kouki S14. Carry on.
Welcome to the world of British insurance. In reality you will not want an engine bigger than a 1.2. It sucks, but once you have 2 or 3 years no claims you can start looking at 1.6l engines.
Interestingly, Be Wiser gave me £1200 last year for my 2L Diesel Picasso. With a week old driving license. £1800 this year (With Bell insurance) but with half the excess, bloody insurance companies. I'm moving up to a 2.5 Litre Diesel van in April. Getting insurance for that shall be fun...
The driver had no injuries. As we rolled, I hit my head on the driver's shoulder. My friend that was ejected is ready for discharge, but has gotten 10 stitches for a gash on his leg. They airlifted him for the fact that he was ejected as a precautionary measure. 19, but Like I say, I'd just passed at the time. I'm glad I waited to do my driving lessons and test to be honest. I'd say if you can't get a single company below £2k you aren't trying hard enough (I was playing companies off each other phoning them all up :v:), even my 18 (17 at the time of insure-ment) year old brother is insured for £1500 on his 1.9 Diesel Clio. (He's with Tesco) I'm beginning to wonder just how much the fact both our cars are diesel plays into it.

I guess I'll have to try harder once it comes to renewal time.
Aye, Fully comp with European cover, roadside cover some other stuff I'll probably never use.
You're telling me i can buy a PRE-MADE ricer?
You're telling me i can encounter ignorant people? :O
Someone is arguing with me that the Bugatti Veyron is the best car in the world because it "is the fastest car in the world and costs a lot of money" Not gonna lie, I would prefer a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville over that.
It's not the fastest, but it has the highest top speed.
You're telling me i can buy a PRE-MADE ricer?
Just because a car has a small, high revving engine doesn't make it rice. Ricers put all their money into looks and no performance, those cars are pretty quick.
Just because a car has a small, high revving engine doesn't make it rice. Ricers put all their money into looks and no performance, those cars are pretty quick.
I feel like the definition of ricer changes every time I see it posted.
I think the Veyron is ugly as fuck. Personally, if I had to get a ridiculous hypercar like that, I'd go with the Agera R. Prettier, faster than the base Veyron, and far more rare. well, actually I'd get a 250 GTO but y'know whatever
I think the Veyron looks great.
I think it's boring. The engine and turbos and what not are a technological marvel IMO, but everything else is boring as fuck.
Once I replace these brake pads (and drums -_-) this squeaking noise better stop. If it doesnt. I am goign to tear apart and rebuild the thing

Paid a fuckton of money for some expensive pads that should last 12k-15k aggressively braking. When it mists or rains over I get a small amount of squeek the first few times i brake. Then i get a random squeak when i'm at a red light, I don't like being that car that squeaks, Makes me feel dumb and stupid. Taxi cabs that roll up in there crown vic and it hurts your ears annoys me

I had a constant squealing coming from my front brake, fixed it today, my dust shield was right on the disc :v:

never made it to the parts store(s) to get plugs and wires today, ho-hum. long post inc about stuff and things that nobody cares about, more just an info dump so i can stop thinking about all this crap and get some sleep thinking i'm gonna paint the beetle olive drab or some derivative of that when i finally get everything else in order. i can't wait until tuesday, i just want to get the thing driving again already. it's funny when i look at the beetle because like.. it's really obvious how many times this car has changed hands. Someone REALLY cared for this car back when it was the OG light blue color, I mean it seems like they really babied the car and loved it. There's a $400+ roof rack on it and the OG paint still on the interior is in really good shape for being almost 50 years old. Then someone else got the car.. They decided to take off the rear apron and decklid (my guess is either they got the car cheap or it was in an accident, the '67 rear decklid is apparently one of those single year unique deals), remove all the chrome trim (but leave the screws in the trim screw holes) and spray flat black over the OG paint. Someone along the lines wired in a flat 4 tow light hookup, I imagine because the car had a front tow hitch at some point. Someone else along the lines apparently fucked the wiring all up because I practically had to rewire all the lights (luckily the ignition wiring seems to be ok), but now all the lights work fine. The seats appear to be completely original and in great condition for their age, they're actually pretty comfortable for what they are. I have both fronts and the rear seat but I took out the rear seat (mostly so i don't give people the illusion that i'm going to give them a damn ride). One door is different than the other (or at the very least they swapped the door handles). One handle is a "trigger pull" latch to open the door and the other is a push button, the keys I have only seem to work on the passenger door. The car came with a key chain, one of the things on it was one of those little laminated key tags they have at dealerships - marked as a 67 VW Beater Bug.. I thought that was a little comical, really makes me wonder where the car has been. The carb is a 34 PICT-3, the stock carb for that engine (or the engine that's supposed to be in the car) was a 30 PICT-1 (I believe) although the engine still has the OG oil bath air filter. The plugs and wires are OG spec Bosch that aren't available anymore (the plugs at least), although the engine bay was spray painted blue (made identifying some wires in the engine bay interesting). From what I was told, the engine was rebuilt something <20k miles ago (though i'm under the impression it was rebuilt and then sat and i'm not convinced it was <20k miles ago).. Leads me to believe that it's most likely a 1600cc engine, the 1500cc (83mm) pistons+cylinders aren't readily available and 1600cc (85.5mm) pistons+cylinders slip right on the 1500cc cases. don't know when the last time the valves were set, don't know the last time the engine or tranny oil was changed (well, i just changed the engine oil but previous to that who knows), don't know the last time the brakes were touched and definitely don't know anything about the engine other than what I can see on the surface. it's all quite the adventure. anyways, when my stuff finally arrives this week (hopefully this tuesday) i'll post a bunch of pictures of whatever i happen to find while working on her and maybe a video of her driving around my city if i get that far.
Looked at a 1969 Firebird and then quickly walked away from it. Bondo + Yellow. Nope, not worth it.
Can someone recommended a vaguely sporty car in the $1500-$2000 range. I'm finally getting a car that is completely my own, instead of mostly my own. I would prefer FR and/or Japanese. Honestly this is probably too much to ask but I may as well try.

Outside FR range, you'll find Integras and maybe a turbo 1G Eclipse/Talon/Laser (Probably not the AWD ones though) Outside Japanese range, fox body mustang... Maybe a third gen Camaro or Firebird.
