Can someone recommended a vaguely sporty car in the $1500-$2000 range. I'm finally getting a car that is completely my own, instead of mostly my own. I would prefer FR and/or Japanese. Honestly this is probably too much to ask but I may as well try.
^like bradley said, 240sx. I got mine for $1,300, basically fixed it for $2,500. Then later on bolt on power
You're telling me i can buy a PRE-MADE ricer?
you're telling me that you had better tastes? [editline]30th July 2012[/editline] What the hell is wrong with you lately?
What year GTO?
1970.
rubber nose or?
Don't see much rust, seems like an easy restore, what are your plans?

Then later on bolt on power
Yeah but you got screwed on your car, in my opinion. One could easily have a good 240SX for $2000. Some could even get SR20 swapped ones (albeit in shit shape) for $2000. I think the last 240 Lemon bought was $2000 and it was swapped already.
you could get an AE86 for that much, it won't be a GTS but still kind of cool also E30s are cheap, not japanese though
I got my GT-S for 1600 dollars... EU spec even so I get 11HP more, get owned america.
Any chance of getting say an Rx-7 in that price range. I saw a craigslist ad for an 89 RX-7 for $1200 it needed a new engine but came with one. How much of a pain would be to install a new 13b?
if you have the crane and tools you need... a day or two.
I like cars... I'm so fucking useful in this thread, thanks me erryone
The only thing I dislike about Australia is the premium on everything related to cars. Rego 600/year License 50-100/yr varying Cheap and nasty car - 1500 90s sedan in good condition - 5000 Parts are also horrendous here compared to y'all in the states.

KA platform is more than capable with the right upgrades. All in all the price evened out. I got jipped by a shit mechanic, not the car 240s are stout vehicles
Looked at a 1969 Firebird and then quickly walked away from it. Bondo + Yellow. Nope, not worth it.
Dont you talk shit about firebirds around me. I see this all the time, wtf is wrong with yellow?!?!?!?!? [editline]30th July 2012[/editline] All muscle cars should have a bright obnoxious color
as much as i love 240's, i can never find one that doesn't have pre-existing problems, or one that isn't outrageously expensive.

If you had to spend $2500 on repairs already for as little time as you've owned it for $1300 you've spent way too much.
no lol I mean the whole cost was $2500. Not tacked on the $1300 that would be ridiculous. $3800 would be an RB track ready. Most S13s have problems due to the age like other cars. Its reaching classic. They thankfully cost little to repair. The high cost is from the Nissan douchebag community raising prices for the shitbox. Find a stock then do your own work
Actually wow I'd totally buy this is I had the money, I have another turbo for it and all http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/3136637807.html
my rear right speaker died :( rip GZIF6503X 2011-2012
2500 total wasn't too bad I guess. [editline]30th July 2012[/editline] WOW JUST WOW SO MANY NINJAS TODAY
Do you even FLEX? notice the v6 H.O. badge because RACECAUR
Do you even lift?
19, but Like I say, I'd just passed at the time. I'm glad I waited to do my driving lessons and test to be honest. I'd say if you can't get a single company below £2k you aren't trying hard enough (I was playing companies off each other phoning them all up :v:), even my 18 (17 at the time of insure-ment) year old brother is insured for £1500 on his 1.9 Diesel Clio. (He's with Tesco) I'm beginning to wonder just how much the fact both our cars are diesel plays into it.
I know it seems stupid- but insurance is stupid (British pricing, anyway) I think the fact that they are diesel plays quite a lot! Good news everyone! I'm picking my car up Wednesday.
Montclair? Who the fuck goes 60 through there?
Just your average know-it-all douchebag.
rubber nose or?
Yep.
Don't see much rust, seems like an easy restore, what are your plans?
Restore, then probably LSD, coilovers. My step-dad wants to make it a track monster, and I definitely have no problem with that. Oh, and some electric cutouts.
i love watching this
Spuer Speeders is the shit. I love Rob and his attitude.
vroom vroom buying new tires and brakes soon
I have concluded that my car is a mean bastard and hates everyone. Changed the oil today, my grandfather (who is 80) helped me out a lot with it. He helped try to get the oil drain plug out, which it was really tight, but he did it, except when he did the wrench slipped and he cut two of his fingers really bad on the frame. He is fine, the cuts were bad though, but cleaned out and wrapped. So my car has burnt me, electrocuted Evilskydiver, cut up my grandpa, and tried to kill itself.
