I have concluded that my car is a mean bastard and hates everyone.
Changed the oil today, my grandfather (who is 80) helped me out a lot with it.
He helped try to get the oil drain plug out, which it was really tight, but he did it, except when he did the wrench slipped and he cut two of his fingers really bad on the frame.
He is fine, the cuts were bad though, but cleaned out and wrapped.
So my car has burnt me, electrocuted Evilskydiver, cut up my grandpa, and tried to kill itself.
so is every car that isn't brand new.
my supra engine bay must have cut at least 10ft² of my skin overall since I started working on it
Worst my car has done, almost give me vibration white finger from how bad the steering wheel vibrates at 70 MPH :v:
I really need to get that fixed, given the other symptoms (Knocking on acceleration and the vibration that increases with speed but stops when you apply power) I think it may be a dodgy Inner CV Joint?
Need to get it on my friend's lift.
Burned my hand on my exhaust mani and struck a sharp metal edge deep under my nail while cleaning the engine bay. Alt cleaner and maf cleaner in both eyes.
Gotta be more careful

Right now I'm looking at either a Nissan 240SX, a 5th-gen Honda Civic hatch, or a 7th-gen Mitsubishi Galant. This would be as a first car. Opinions?
Tomorrow. After work. Brake Pads. Lets do this.
My blazer has yet to hurt me, she's been good.
oh shit.. I have choices in the type of brake pads. What.
Ceramic, Semi-Metallic (?), or Kevlar. What the fuck.

Stay away from Mitsubishis, civics are reliable when not fucked up, and 240sx's are nice but unreliable when behind on maintenance.

Being a Mitsubishi guy, it hurts me to say I completely agree with this. Based solely on being a first car, anyways. Mitsubishi makes great cars but you really have to take care of them.

Just stick semi-metallic in there, the other 2 are high performance and are just a waste of money unless you race your truck, which is highly unlikely.

Also the 20 year old seam sealant on my blazer is cracked off, time to buy some more!

That is the second time I have been shocked from a distributor.

It's what I mess with most because broke ass kids can't afford proper imports. Haha.
I know Honda like the back of my hand, but Mitsubishi has always been where my heart is at. From the Galant Lambda (which is my favorite car), to the Mirage, Starion to the Eclipse. I love the three diamonds.

Holy crap... I guess for the price, peformance, and brand you could not beat that deal.
[editline]31st July 2012[/editline]
Also update on audi parts.
Looks like it will be reassembled tomorrow :v:
Had to fucking call AUDI to fax over a pic of the cooling hoses and give us part numbers.
as of currently, the big 3 muscle cars out now with v6s all produce around very similar numbers maybe with one or two difference in hp. obviously conditions may change but the average 0-60s for them are
-mustang 5.1-5.7 weighing at 3600lbs
-camaro 5.8-6.2 3800lbs
-challenger 6.2-6.8 4100lbs
theres some numbers and facts for you all so maybe this will convince you a bit better
[editline]31st July 2012[/editline]
i prefer chevy and camaro to ford and mustangs but i choose the mustang for a reason
best bang for you buck and quickest out of them all
If given the option to buy a mustang or challenger... I would go with the challenger. Dont care about the times, specs, etc. It just looks too cool
challengers are sweet cars but id only ever own one if it was a r/t

For the price and brand?
2011 Camaro LS - 312hp/278ft-lbs - $22,742
2011 Ford Mustang V6 Base - 305hp/280ft-lbs - $22,995
2011 Dodge Challenger Base - 305hp/268ft-lbs - $24,953
All the pony cars cost around the same and put out near as makes no difference the same power. The Challenger is a couple grand up... I don't know why. Probably because it looks the best of all three. :P

Ah yeah nuke said it

Also, there's still only one new-era 2005+ Muscle Car I would own.
I'm supposed to be looking online for a decent car to get for when I go back to college in September that has good safety ratings and will have a decently lower insurance rate but I'm not sure where to start and don't really know that much about cars (compared to what you guys probably know in this thread). I figured making a new thread wouldn't merit a simple question like this, but what would you guys suggest going for? It wouldn't be a brand spanking new car, but maybe like one or two years old or something.
