AA rules #1: We are all bros, chill the fuck out
I used to crash ricer meets with my GMC.
If cr-v bro aint busy, we're going to go explore some wheelin spots. Also going to mark the road for the 408 meter... Im sure the locals that drive down that road wont put 2 and 2 together when rubber marks start showing up 1/4 mile from a white line that says "408" next to it 408 and a bunch of giberish about pipes. [editline]10th August 2012[/editline] On the subject of meets, me and my friends meet at the bulkhead occasionally and just chill. usually after grabbing some food together.
So I was invited to the underground world of tuner meets right in my own town. Now I know why there are a lot of tuners out as well as cops during Thursday nights. Found out five of my friends go there when I never thought they did.
Every Friday and Saturday this shit goes down in my town like 100+ cars come out to some parking lot, lots of JDM's, lots of raw muscle, bikes, trucks, etc. Best thing was two weekends ago, some cocky kid comes to the lot with a brand new R35. Was bragging about how fast it was and shit, when this old dude, long hair, long beard, pulls up in this old ass, kind of beat up Impala and asks the R35 kid "What've you put into it?" He says "Nothing, but it's already pushing over 400." The old dude nods, and quietly asks, "Want a race?" This is where the kid laughs a bit, and says "Sure." They pull up outside of the lot to a red light. We all expected that an AWD twin turbo would beat a RWD NA off the start, but nope. The Impala just walks the kid right off the line. They pull back into the parking lot and the R35 kid was all confused at what just happened, asking the old guy all these questions about his car. The old guy just opens his passenger door, reaches into the glove compartment and pulls out his Dyno sheet. He opens it up and shows it to the kid. "1255 WHP"
Well no shit it won. If it had 500hp I reckon the kid would have sit the fuck down.
maybe not stock look bugs 'cause they're all there but mine.. well.. has the rear apron and front apron cut off, no deck lid and is going to be military green so i feel like mullet mobile rear louvers would look good (color matched to the rest of the car or maybe flat black, i'm thinking all the exterior accents are either going chrome or flat black). i can't find (exterior mullet mobile version) rear louvers anywhere anyways but i think it would look pretty bad ass coupled with the expanded steel (that i picked up earlier today) engine cover and everything in olive drab/military green.
Well yeah I think louvers fit on super beetles and beetles made into buggies like yours but any other beetle looks bad with louvers. I'd love to have rear window louvers on my Mk1 Golf though...
Fuck, knocked my drip rail cover off, had to pull an austin powers turn to try to get in a trail, fucking telephone pole..stability cable thing... hit the rail and bent it off.
Well no shit it won. Didn't look like it would've stood a chance against a VR38DETT off the line. Best sleeper car 2012.

I got my car back from maintenance today. Turns out they did a lot more then what I requested. They did replace the brakes but they also changed the oil... and... THEY PUT 4 BRAND NEW TIRES ON
Are you actually a five 0. Like do you patrol around?
Just got offered a job, and they're giving me a company car, something like a VW Golf / around that price range. Super excited, not only for the job, but being able to drive around all day chilling.
So, I've sent a message to this guy. Just waiting for a response. There are people like that in portland. :|
Called my mechanic, finally reached him. Gonna tow my car to his place tomorrow, gonna go buy a new engine tomorrow, gonna bring it to him, discuss with him a bit. He's gonna install it over the week and then the car's gonna be ready next weekend, only gonna lack the PCM. That is, if everything goes as planned. *hopes*
I can't believe GM expected their basic engine to handle all that boost.
I fixed your post for you.
I can't believe you expected your basic engine to handle all that boost.
I can't believe you think I'm the first one to do that. Bolts on. The engine could easily withstand more than that, mine just decided to take a crap. Do your homework.
Seriously? He didn't chunk a piston, or blow up a head etc. its not the boost. It's rod knock... The rod bearing & Journey was starved of oil. more likely than not something contaminated the oil.
rod knock is a direct aftermath of predetonation WHICH is the aftermath of lean condition and wrong timing all together
rod knock is a direct aftermath of predetonation WHICH is the aftermath of lean condition and wrong timing all together
smaller pulley plus no extra fuel= detonation.
rod knock is a direct aftermath of predetonation WHICH is the aftermath of lean condition and wrong timing all together
But the fact that its tuned by a guy who's build over 400 of these engine combos (N/A 3800 w a m90 added ontop) AND a live data scanner reported 0 KR the whole time, I'm going with contaminated oil.
lol knock sensors from a N/A, used by a N/A ecu. I know that for 2jz and 7m, the ge and gte versions have different KS because of different sort of resonance in the event of pinging.
GM uses the SAME knock sensor (AC Delco Part #2133522) For the N/A L36 and S/C L67. He's also using a L67 tune on his ECM. The ECM part Numbers are the same also (#21812377) :) I'm gonna get him to take the bearings off the bad Rod and we'll know then who's right.
Quick lap of Bathurst. And some mild shakotan not stance.
Sold my fake Volk rims for $300. Then the next day, the guy who bought them from me shows up at my work to buy rotors and brakes. Mfw. He's putting them on an automagic Lancer and painting them white. Meh
Been working my ass off to afford a Monte Carlo SS dale edition. A dealer wants to dump one for 8.9k and I'm going to offer 8k considering thats the market value of the thing in excellent condition and it's very good not excellent. (88k miles also on it). Hope it comes with the certificte too. I'm just trying to convience my grand parents to throw it under there insurance as it would literally cost like 400-500 bucks full coverage for 6 months under them. Under me it's like 1k a month :v:. best to luck to me, and more working for me just to save up money just to have monies. This next paycheck I'm getting soon literally can pay for the insurance and registration in one go and i regularly make around 1k a month so can easily make the 150 buck payment on it and i only live a mile away from work so never worry about gas.
Are you actually a five 0. Like do you patrol around?
I do reserve patrol for my city.. so yes, I do patrol around but I am not a fully licensed officer. I drive a 2007 CVPI with 102k on it.

That's basically our auxillery. When extra forces are needed or events around the town auxierlly get called in, They don't have guns but have cuffs and are allowed to arrest someone (Basically a citizens arrest though) and can enforce laws or crowd control. They get regular uniforms and Crown vics as well.
