I once paid with 1000 when they were around
got a 10' x 20' canopy today.. $230 and it's 10 x 20 with a roof and 4 sides, it'll be a little bit of a pain to work/maneuver around the car in with all the sides on (you can roll them up, it's just cloth) but it's better than not being able to work on the car at all in the rain/etc anyways, apparently i passed out at like 4pm today and woke up at about 9:30. it's like 11 now so i think i'm gonna stay up another hour or so and then hopefully catch another 4-5 hours of sleep, wake up and start doing bodywork on the bug 'cause i've been dragging my feet a little since i don't really like doing body (bondo) work as much as.. well.. like anything else i could be doing. start messing with making that engine cover out of the expanded, i still don't really know how i'm going to piece that together since i don't have a welder and i can't weld anyways if i didn't JUST sort out the points gap/dwell/timing a couple weeks ago i'd change my points, condenser and distributor cap (cause i already have them all anyways) but i also don't really want to re-gap the points and re-time the car. whatever.
Got an Autograph from Vaughn Gittin Jr. today at Woodward! Was awesome, shook his hand and got a picture with him too, but the guy taking the picture left my flash on and blew the picture out.
I miss driving my car >:
>:E
Hopefully the other engine is going to work fine and dandy, oh well will see it next Thursday once I come back from work. (Yay for working outside :v:) My wallet hates me.
It's been raining off and on for the past few days it's extremely muddy on backroads. Also today I hit my first animal. Ducking dog why u in middle of toad when it's raining and dark outside. I could not see the dog untill it was too late. I was even traveling 20mph under the speed limit do to there was just too much water on the road and my tires hate water. Tomarrow I got to do a damage check. I think I bent one of the wheels :( Shit sucks when a girl "friend" is riding with you so you can take her home.
lmao what you're an idiot take it from someone who owns a Prelude
I didn't actually bother to look up the prices, I just like the look of them. So I'm not an idiot, just ignorant in that regard. But really, the question was rigged to begin with. Is there such thing as a perfect car in that price range? Is there a perfect car at all? I mean I know what he was getting at, but without more information an actual recommendation can't really be given.
Get the car you like and what you think you want. Some persons here would get a Civic, and love them. While I personally dislike them. (But that's because they're fucking everywhere here, like mustangs, which I dislike too.) It's all matter of tastes, thou shalt not get something because people tells them to, but rather because they like it. I got a Grand Prix, because I find the model very nice looking, and solid. But see, opinions and personal tastes. Out of subject, if anyone ever needs 3800 Series II parts, I've got L36 heads, Fuel Rails, #22 Bosch injectors, LIM, Plenum, A block with a spun rod bearing. Also got a Eaton M90 blower and other stuff, got a whole batch of connectors, plugs, sensors, and everything.
Turnover tomorrow, hopefully.

LOL NO AC TODAY
Well, in the $5-$15,000 range...you can get a nice god damn car, as long as you don't buy new. [editline]19th August 2012[/editline] lol clocks. [editline]19th August 2012[/editline] So, my cousin asked me to take her to the store last night, but right before we got there, she asked me to make a detour. Hmmm...alright I guess...pulled into some apartment complex and parked. She got out and started talking to some people. I waited...and waited...and waited some more. At this point I'm starting to get more than a little suspicious, then her kids started calling her phone in my car, I didn't know what to tell them so I told them I didn't know where she was. She came back and I asked her what the hell she was doing here, and she said some bitch owed her money or something, and threw $15 in my face. At this point I'm confused as fuck, but about a minute later her and said bitch come and get in my car and we drive off, while I do a little burnout because manual on steep hill with car right behind me. I get out of the apartment complex on to the main road...and my cousin pulled out a little baggie of meth. :( I've never been so mad in my life, but I held it back, keeping a straight face. The chick in the back wanted me to roll my window up so she could start smoking, I pulled into a parking lot and told them both to get the fuck out of my car and threw the $15 back at my cousin, she was a little offended, and the chick in the back got a little bit of an attitude saying thanks for the ride and dump, I told her she was welcome.
Everything is tubed and tied and ready to go! Except when I turn the key nothing happens. Expecting the starter is just not getting power or a fuse is fucked. Car is getting power since the hazards came on [sp]from when the last guy blew the engine up and was towed home[/sp] so I don't think it's an issue with the battery itself. [editline]19th August 2012[/editline] So the starter isn't getting a signal, have to figure that one out.
Visited an old friend of the family recently and of course I wen't straight to their garage when I saw a car there. Turns out they inherited it recently and are looking for someone who will buy it to restore it. I have heard you guys don't really like Japanese cars, and to be honest I wasn't that big of a fan until I saw this one.(I've always been into 30's-70's american cars.) It's a Nissan 300zx 1986 black. There's a bit of electrical work to do, but the engine starts after being outside in rain for about 2 years they thought. The clutch also needs to be fixed. Othervise I haven't learned much more of it then that the front window needs to be fixed and one of the front lights are broken. It looks roughly like this, but not in as good condition.. [t]http://www.imgur.com/2NqMr.jpg[/t] I looked up some info using the plates, and it looked a bit wonky: 14 owners, and last passed an inspection sometime during the 90's (can't remember exactly what it said.) What do you guys think? It'd be my first car.
I've been thinking... I kind of want to buy a really shitty car that gets really good gas mileage. I would use the car for commuting to and from school and work - while still having my Blazer for everything else (16mpg hnng). Does anyone do this or thought of it?

Does anyone do this or thought of it?
realistically the amount of money you spend on another car will take ages before the difference in MPG will really make any real difference.. especially if you gamble on some <$2k beater car, chances are the thing is beat and in need of repairs (or will be in short order). Assuming gas is $3.75 (which it is here, don't know about where you live) and your Blazer does 16mpg, if you pick up something cheap (say $1000) that does 30mpg.. Every gallon = ~14 miles more distance Assuming an average travel of 100 miles a week (5 day business week, that is), the blazer would consume ~6.25 (~$23.45)gallons of gas while the beater would consume ~3 gallons of gas ($11.25). Based on that, it would take ~81 weeks (a year and a half?) purely to offset the original $1000 investment, not accounting for misc. wear parts, oil changes/fluids etc. I, personally, bought a second car purely for the enjoyment of having a beater to bring back to life, get on the road and then continue to wrench on it since my pickup truck is more primarily used for work than anything. Sure, it'll be nice (once it's on the road) to spend less on gas but it's really a silly thing to buy a second car purely to save money on gas, in my opinion at least.
I saw a Celica GT four for sale today for £950, wanted it so bad but I could never insure a 2.0l turbo. Not sure why he was selling it so cheap, it looked like it was in mint condition.
What year?
2002
woman bought it in $20 bills? I think its a woman thing, my mom raged when I got $2500 in 100's to buy my jeep, insisted that i should pay in 20's.
Yes, a woman paid us 250 $20 bills for our Camaro We pulled up, she was on the phone with her bank trying to raise her limits. She pulled all of it out of a bunch of different ATM's. To top it off, we think 4 are fake. They are 2009 series, but they look brand new. The numbers are very close (within a couple hundred. A two are 5 numbers apart.) The numbers on them feel like they were printed hard.
Soo many ricers wanting to race me at night. fuck off I'm enjoying my ride, I don't have to waste boost on your shitty 4 cyl econobox that has been riced-out
Went at my mech to give him a bill for a S/C gasket I ordered for him to go pick up, took a picture of progress.
http://easttexas.craigslist.org/cto/3146680103.html Going to go look at this in afew hrs. If it is not a complete rust bucket I will pick it up. Why? You say. My Audi is being a god damn wrench whore. Son bitch the A/C went out few days ago and I DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE BUMPER OFF AGEN TO FIX IT. Instead going to get something fuel efficient, and reliable.

IE, serviceable parts like hoses, water pump, radiator, transmission, brakes etc. Nissans are real finnicky if they haven't been prepped. Speaking of black 300zx, here's an example of a maintained one. Chatted with an tuner dad, came into my store looking for tools for his shit Jetta. He shows me his daily driver: Real Volks, twin turbo, exhausts so large you can fit your head in it
Soo many ricers wanting to race me at night. fuck off I'm enjoying my ride, I don't have to waste boost on your shitty 4 cyl econobox that has been riced-out
You'd be hard pressed to find people that actually know what your car is and its history
So today I maxed out my speedometer... while doing so discovered some things that need replacing. But then after all that fun on the highway my car smelled like a mix of anti-freeze and oil. Yum.
So, my uncle is trading vehicles with my mom. He's getting her (broken) Honda CB 450, and in exchange, we are getting a pick-up truck (Also broken). Fair trade? :v:
Aw shiet, may be getting a job at Jiffy Lube tomorrow. It's about 27 miles away which kinda sucks, but the $8 an hour + overtime isn't bad imo. And they're shorthanded right now and pretty desperate, so getting the job and having overtime is almost guaranteed :p
Instead going to get something just as terrible on gas,and reliable.
ftfy My friend Borellus gets ~23mpg driving his like a grandpa and it is mechanically sound. Expect to replace CV shafts after that long too which is ~$70 a pop and you will have to order an 8mm triple square socket (Specialty socket for VW axle bolts). If you want fuel efficient, get a diesel rabbit.

http://delaware.craigslist.org/cto/3196796227.html His parents are buying it for him if it checks out, then he's paying them back once he sells his monte carlo/ saves money from work if he decides to keep the monte. I was told: I get to drive the starion home from when he buys it (fuck yeah niggah!) AND when he takes his monte to get it dyno'd and tuned, hes going to take the starion as well, and i get to drive the Monte there! (double fuck yeah!)
