Probably gonna start my car for the first time in a month tomorrow evening. Here's me hoping me and my mech can finish everything from 6h45 to 10hpm tomorrow, should be doable.
Would at least make my day off worth it.

Film it!
dropped my muffler in a hardees drive through yesterday
it was awkward pulling up to the window
had my 2003 ford focus for about a year, and all of a sudden i stop up my street to pick up my friend and when I start the car again its makin all kinds of crazy noises and won't start. It turns out some kind of valves fell into the motor and fucked everything up now I have to get a new car and I don't even know where to begin looking for a car
Tire popped today. Was driving home from work and suddenly my car started swerving from side to side, and after I was done being all "oh god what is happening" i realized it was my tire and pulled over. Spent like half an hour changing the popped tire to a spare one, hit myself in the chest and almost in the face with the wrench a few times :v:
Overall, I'd say i didn't do bad for my first emergency tire change
It's always fun when your lug nuts are stuck. Mine were able to hold all 220lbs of me jumping up and down on the wrench when I did the front brakes.

And that is why they are also known as the ford fuckus.
Go for a Volvo s70 / 850 Turbo.
Reliable, safe and powerful.
Yesss, FINALLY. Everything has arrived for the E38;

That's 8 new Bosch Design 3 fuel injectors, 2 new catalytic converters, a throttle body gasket, full intake manifold gasket set, and two heated aspherical mirrors. Not shown : Two ratty looking mufflers that are going on today too.
Going to be like a whole new car when I'm done. Got a pair of OEM 'V8' badges arriving soon to go above the front side indicators as they should, and the next step will be a new set of ceramic akebono brake pads and front rotors. But one step at a time!
Get yourself some Bosch wiper blades too :v:
I'm semi-serious, Bosch wiper blades are pretty state-of-the-art and are way better than standard wiper bades

Bosch is the only company that makes wiper blades for that gen of BMW.
Even my 1991 merc uses bosch blades stock.
Well, bosch evolution wiper blades to be more specific. They don't have brackets (hence the name "evolution")

My first car, '94 Jaguar Vanden Plas.
I thought it read 'Vander Plas' from the back label. :v:
-Broken Cupholder
-Driver's door lock does not function (have to go to the passenger side to lock the whole car)
-Trunk latch broken, cannot access
-Engine light on
-No window-washing fluid
What the fuck can I fix on this thing.
I was browsing eBay for random cars to see how much they go for, and stumbled upon this:

2L Pinto, various mechanical goodies and 118K on the odometer.
Then why is it just shy of 2 grand? and it's had 7 owners since '86.
Perhaps it's haunted, or cursed
Still, if I didn't know any better it'd be mine, on paper it looks marvelous

Classy
1. Do you know how to take apart door panels?
2. Can you unlock and open it using the key?
3. Take it to a mechanic
4. Refill it.
Get a haynes manual if you plan on keeping the car. Also that car was done by lucas electrical, you're lucky that the door locks are the only thing not functioning.
The little 'beeper' doesn't work. I can unlock and lock it, but not via the driver door.

I dislike it when every one say's "Get a haynes or a chilton".
IMO check your dealer for what to get,
VAG Products = Bently Manual's.
Ford's = FRJGNFJDNG BOLT WHY U NO LINE UP.
Chevy's = A 12 year old can figure it out.
Because I'm sure a modern Jaguar dealer has any insights on a car that's over 20 years old made by a defunct manufacturer.
Parents cant understand what a headgasket job is. They just know, CAR BROKE FIX IT NOW. Non-car enthusiast family or tech in general so they think I'm a dumbass for having a "broken" car. It's just mehhhh
Friend might sell me his twin-cam KA24DE since he's going SR20DET. His transmission, gauges, wiring all the likes for a couple hundred. I like my single cam right now though
My mom is like that
durr your truck is unreliable garbage it has 199,000 miles and it needed a thermostat and a new alternator

I want a jaaaaaaaaaag so bad, even though it'd break down every two seconds. Jaguars are just so goddamn cool.

The DOHC KA isn't much of anything special over your single cam, you get 4 extra valves but you lose a tad bit of flow stock for stock. The bottom end of the KA24 is all forged stuff so they are good engines, if you do head studs and a nice strong head gasket, it'd even withstand a bit of boost. Go for it.
My scirocco will be making its final trip soon. I wish I could give it a proper death, explosion, fire or even roll off of a cliff, but the tow truck is the only option. I had a lot of fun. My it's final day's be peaceful.

GEDDIT ZOTIC GEDDIT GEDDIT GEDDIT
So I'm assuming this is the thread for general troubleshooting too? A while back the check engine light started coming on when I accelerated quickly. (A 1995 Mustang GT 5.0HO, Auto). I read up on it and I assumed it was just the O2 sensor in the exhaust. So I ignored it seeing as it went away a few seconds after I stopped accelerating. Well recently when I stopped at a stop light, and pressed the gas when it turned green, my RPMs dropped. It's gotten worse to where after I drive it for a couple of minutes, every time I hit the accelerator the RPMs drop, and I almost stall out. If I'm going slow through a parking lot, it will stall out, but if I'm going a nice speed on a street it will catch before it dies. It'll drop, then sputter back and forth before leveling out. I replaced the fuel filter already, hoping that was it, but no luck. It also smells like it's running too rich.
I'm going to take a look at the fuel pressure regulator to make sure it's not damaged, but until then, do you guys have any idea what could be causing it? (I also plan to pull and check the all plugs just in case)
