The DOHC KA isn't much of anything special over your single cam, you get 4 extra valves but you lose a tad bit of flow stock for stock. The bottom end of the KA24 is all forged stuff so they are good engines, if you do head studs and a nice strong head gasket, it'd even withstand a bit of boost. Go for it.
Yeah that's the plan. I already spent a bit on my SOHC, now planning to ARP headstud it with a basic Felpro gasket. Now deciding if I want the twin-cam since I told myself I would get one later
It's not that big of a step up, I'd just stick to SOHC until you go to swap it to something serious.
Got myself a new camera to take photos of cars and stuff. My cellphone is okay, but only for photos on the fly. Had this Olympus VR-350 on rebate there, so got it.
Noooo give it to meeeee
zotic, get it. Freeman shows me pictures of how clean it is, and I keep telling him to sell the shell.
Car battery discharged.
OH GOD FUCKING DAMNIT.
Apparently battery is in trunk which I cannot access, and I have no fucking clue where to find the power cables
Testing the new camera

Check your fusebox. there should be a "jumper" pos in there if not under the hood.
Also its more than likely your going to have to use the ground on the frame or something.

I wish I had the money to do this.
Found it, the stupid cover was dirty I didn't notice the '+'
There's also this 'end of screw' jutting out from where the rest of the fuses are, is that considered the grounder?

No. If you have no idea if its the ground resort to the frame.
So just stick the neg to the car it self?
you can also ground on the engine.
you can also ground on the engine.
Wat if he sticks it on a "fuel injector" ;_;
So just stick the neg to the car it self?
Just look for a bolt of something under the hood to stick it on. Aka suspension.

no. car looks good but fuck why does it have to be so low. imo that shit is way too low. just keep it at a stock height, or just a tiny tad lower than stock. when it starts scraping the ground which it pretty much does in this video, it's too fucking much.
car looks good, just keep it at stooocckk heeiggghttt.
So I'm assuming this is the thread for general troubleshooting too? A while back the check engine light started coming on when I accelerated quickly. (A 1995 Mustang GT 5.0HO, Auto). I read up on it and I assumed it was just the O2 sensor in the exhaust. So I ignored it seeing as it went away a few seconds after I stopped accelerating. Well recently when I stopped at a stop light, and pressed the gas when it turned green, my RPMs dropped. It's gotten worse to where after I drive it for a couple of minutes, every time I hit the accelerator the RPMs drop, and I almost stall out. If I'm going slow through a parking lot, it will stall out, but if I'm going a nice speed on a street it will catch before it dies. It'll drop, then sputter back and forth before leveling out. I replaced the fuel filter already, hoping that was it, but no luck. It also smells like it's running too rich.
I'm going to take a look at the fuel pressure regulator to make sure it's not damaged, but until then, do you guys have any idea what could be causing it? (I also plan to pull and check the all plugs just in case)
I pulled the vacuum line of the fuel pressure regulator and no fuel came out, even after a while. So it doesn't seem to be a ruptured diaphragm. However, after it warmed up and I drove it around the block to get it to start acting all weird, I pulled the vacuum line. When it was open, the engine idles fine, but when I plugged it again (With my finger or by putting it back on the regulator) it immediately started screwing up.
Ideas? This is my only vehicle and I'm stuck until I figure this out.

It's air suspension
Adjustable on the go
It's air suspension

then he should very quickly adjust it to stock / around stock height. I don't get why so many people have a raging boner for something as silly as a car which is scraping the ground. It looks ridiculous and there's no good benefits for it (other than getting your paint scrapped off, which isn't really good).
cars 95% of the time look so much better when they're adjusted to the stock height, how they were originally designed to be. I genuinely cannot think of a car off the top of my head that looks better lowered than stock height.
[editline]edit[/editline]
but I guess this just comes down to opinions again, really. some people like the stock look (like me) and then someone else likes the lowered look. I just personally don't see the benefits of getting your paint scrapped off. /rant
I love this new camera

yeah it doesn't really matter what use for ground
fuck spiders
also im asking for tires for christmas
Gonna go at my mech place in about 30 mins, hoping to get around putting the motor in the bay, bolting the trans and AC, and then plug everything. Biggest hope is to start it and test drive it.
Gonna take pictures of what I can.
Really getting bored now of just 60HP at my disposal. New car next year I think. (If the insurance has gone down as much again anyway).

Try unplugging the MAF and starting it up. I used to know someone with a v6 95(or close) automatic and unless you unplugged the MAF which had to be toast, it would idle at something like 2300rpms and chirp into drive/reverse and attempt to kill it's own transmission. Fucking thing would accelerate slowly in drive to 32mph or something.
I found some other stuff on google which sounds like a better idea than mine though. I'd definitely pull the codes before you do anything else though.

just pull the code if your cel is on.
christ, I don't understand why some people go on the interweb: hay guys, my cel is on so what is it.
Oh god, my car goes 15 mpg.
I get 8 mpg with my truck
:suicide:
well apparently the 305 has some nuts because I was at my friends house today, and we took out his dad's completely stock 87 el camino and were driving up and down his street. I'm driving it, step on it, the tranny slips, then the car just starts melting the tires while I was doing like 40. Was pretty cool haha
