one fit nicely and rape your wallet's butt. the other will do but you'll have a hard time fitting it. both are useless IMO
Yeah? My friend told me to switch my airbox out and all the prelude forums are like "CAI OR SHORT RAM MAKES CAR SO FAST!". Then you get some people arguing that a CAI robs low end power and such. I don't even know. I'm just looking for some simple things that wouldn't cost more than a few hundred dollars that would help out my car.
ahh yeah IT MAKE THE CAR SO FAST TO MY BUTT DYNO, THAT IS THE MOST PRECISE TOOL TO MESURE TEH POWER if you want to help your car for a few hundred, do a proper maintenance. that is all. FAST CHEAP GOOD, pick two of them
Cold air intakes are stupid. The only reason I run the Iceman on my CRX is because they aren't made anymore and I picked it up for a steal ($20).
Cold air intakes are stupid. The only reason I run the Iceman on my CRX is because they aren't made anymore and I picked it up for a steal ($20).
So I should probaly just pick up a $30 cone to replace the airbox?
Keep your airbox, just put a good filter in it. Its not uncommon to see people lose power with 'short-ram" intakes, because the filter is open to the engine bays heat.
I agree with Disco, grab you a nice airbox filter and keep the airbox. My CRX had the airbox removed and some plastic shit going to a cheap cone filter when I got it, so it's way better off with a proper CAI. But if you have the airbox already, don't switch to a CAI -- there's nothing wrong with the airbox.
Anyone know how I could make my car run smoother with the A/C on? When I have the A/C set to max, the idling speed is extremely erratic - whenever the A/C kicks on, the idling speed drops, then suddenly goes back to the normal when the A/C turns back off. I usually have to turn off the A/C in heavy traffic near stoplights because I'm afraid the car will suddenly jump forward as I'm idling forward.

I was coming off the highway doing like 80 onto the road (It merges into a new lane) and I saw it and almost slammed on my brakes, then LOL'd as I realized it was just a blank crown victoria. It's not parked there anymore but I saw a crapload of people hitting the brakes as soon as they went around the bend. [sp]By 80, I mean 80 kph, not mph. [/sp]
I always speed on this one backroad even though 90% of the time i pass 4+ cops while going 80+ That feel when ill never know if they dont care or if i managed to turn off before they caught up :v [editline]21st February 2012[/editline] Oh and i saw the meanest fucking chevelle today on the way home ;_; heard this intense rumble coming and then my dad was like "is that a cool car" look up just as this mint glossy black SS 70' chevelle blows by with the roar of a thousand murricas Dat body twist when he hammered down to pass somone ;_; dem jelly tingles [editline]21st February 2012[/editline] like it needs one more ;_; [editline]21st February 2012[/editline] ;_;
I saw a red chevy pick up yesterday. Didn't know they had any down here in the uk
I personally like my ebay short ram on my Integra, it makes a satisfying noise when I put the petal to the floor and sounds way sexier than any fart can ever will. The difference between a K/N short ram intake and a ebay short ram intake is literally what you see, the logo and paint. I never cared for the airbox on my Integra, it was ugly and got in the way of the headlights. CAI's are pretty dumb as puddles and rain will get into them and ruin the filters and what not or in rare circumstances can hydrolock your motor. They are expensive and the money would be much better spent on anything else. Most of your airboxes take air from the engine bay anyways while having a bunch of worthless piping and boxes to do it.
I saw a red chevy pick up yesterday. Didn't know they had any down here in the uk
I'm not. You guys may not adore pickups quite like we do here in the States, but there's plenty of Brits that need a proper half-ton for some reason. Farmwork, perhaps carrying things that won't fit in a Land Rover, towing fifth-wheel trailers, that sort of thing, and a Chevy Silverado is a good choice for such work. Looked up my trucks VIN number since I hadn't yet and, apparently, it's supposed to have a 3 speed auto, while it has a 4 speed...cool. Still have no idea what kind of mileage it's got on it though. Somewhere well north of 200,000?
Found out my accord was made in america, So i still drive american and support american cars <3
What era is it? Judging from the picture of your new window. 1998 to 2002? We used to have a 1999. Good car, super comfy and had loads of torque for a 90's Inline 4.
speaking of short rams and cai, I can do this and get a free short ram: not my picture, but same idea. Ye'olde TBI Lid flip [editline]21st February 2012[/editline] doesnt do much but makes my engine howl, in a good way.

Crazy amount of pull comes from the thing.

I have a custom made one that goes into my fender and gets cold air from outside. None of the air it gets comes from the engine bay. It gained a few HP and I can feel a difference in throttle response, as well as a smoother revving engine. Here's a picture, before I used duct tape to seal it off better (could have bought a fender plug from Subaru and cut a hole in it, but it's cheaper to just use duct tape);

It was an LX (Mid) so it was an option on it.
