Head and main studs ordered. Close to $300 for some peace of mind.
I wish I had the money for tools and such. I can imagine myself pulling the engine out and rebuilding it. If only I had a fixed DD and a track star 240 to work on the side

I've got a '96 VW Caravelle that is struggling with it's radio signal. I've tried replacing the radio unit, and I'm fearing the problem might be in the antenna. But where the hell is it? I haven't seen any sign of it (except possibly in the windshield) :v:
[editline]I kissed a christian once. It was meh[/editline]
The problem is actually so bad I can't get a reception in my home town at all (which is of course where it does most of its driving)
I googled it and got a reference to a "Inside window antenna" so it probably is, you could probably try taking it to a car audio shop or just install an aftermarket one. You should just be able to plug a new antenna into the back of the radio.
Darn it, I hoped it had just come off or something, so it was just to put on a new one (that could easily be done by me). Maybe we'll look into it when we take out on of the seats (to re-register it as a different type of vehicle, so I can legally drive it)
On a different note: How would one get the dashbord off? It seems like it's all connected in some way, so that you would have to take of the entire interior to get to anything. And does anyone know how to/how difficult it would be to reconnect the radio to the ignition (it was disconnected because the ignition is complete shit right now, planning to get it replaced soon though)
I just want to spend all of the money (ALL OF IT) on Bug parts. Oh well, I guess I'll just continue being broke. Come this Winter, I really should invest some time in pulling the engine to find out exactly what I have for an engine before I go spending money and find out i've got an aftermarket cam or something like that which will throw everything out of whack.
still looking for a second engine, mostly just for shits and giggles. Find a decent used engine for cheap and be able to tinker with it, maybe do something real silly like get a junkyard turbo and run something like 5-10 lbs of boost since such little amounts of boost make pretty decent power but don't quite put enough strain on the engine to really break anything unless you run it really hard. Besides, I don't really want to have to invest in a stronger tranny and the stock tranny will only really handle a beating from 100hp or so and even at that you're pushing it if you drive hard.

STILL LEAKING OIL. God damn volvo stop leaking.
Ugh This day has gone to hell. My car was stuck in park this morning, the Brake interlock is broken, and YAY for no Manual over-ride button... Then all day so far I've been dodging bad drivers.

I discovered that the shitty-ass garage I took my car to didn't even fix my brake leak, and my normal good garage was all booked up for a week. Ended up finally getting the leak fixed, only to have spent $260, when it should of only cost like $100.
On the flipside, I'm enjoying driving it so much now that I'm not worried about the brake leak. Just not having my car for a day or two makes me appreciate it a lot more.
(It being my prelude. Man, I haven't posted here in a while)
While working last night I sat and watched these people kill their fuel pump while trying to start their car.
A+ work. Heres the # to the towing company, have a good night.
I just remembered when my Pontiac would get water in the floors.
And then in the winter it would freeze and id have ice on my floor under my pedal lol.
I am amazed at how many hot chicks that can drive stick that go through the shop I work at every day. We get at least 4-5 of them a day, and we have competitions on who can check them out the longest without getting caught :v:
Turbo 383, because at some point you're gonna want more power. That way, you either turn up the boost, or go with a bigger turbo. With the 426, you'll have to rev the shit out of it to make the power a Turbo 383 could make you.
Rev the shit out of a 426? Are you kidding?
I don't think that thing even goes above 4000rpm
I've seen 460's revved to 8000rpm D:

460 = Ford engine.
426 = Mopar engine

Yes but only a Ford big block would do that. Mopar big blocks don't like being run over like 5500 rpms.
Come on media tags....

Surprised it didnt blow up imo. Must've had all billet parts. But like I said, Ford big block, they like RPMs better than dodge/chrysler from what I've read and experienced.
I love the exhaust tone my new motor has, no clues why, but it's way deeper than my other was. Not gonna complain.

I only drifted in the winter... why? because its the only time I could safely drift in my 88' Vic. Had WAY to much fun on the roads before they get plowed
drifting safely?
wat u on son.
if you feel safe when you're drifting, you're not going fast enough.

It is so weird to see the local track getting so much coverage, considering it was almost closed like 6 months ago. The track is sandia motorsports park, at like 3 min 20ish.
Also this sucks
because no one wants to help me do the headgasket job. Friend is being flakey/cold, but I need his help cause he's owned like 5 240sx's.
How am I drift if no halp. At this point im considering doing it myself and man up; I'd do it right to spec and I'll be fixing my own damned car
Got these today for my oil change due in a few months. I'm only driving a Corsa but the oil was £17, cheaper than standard oil because it was on sale.
