Although it's really nice getting my driver's license and a car at 16, it's frustrating knowing I won't be able to buy a car that I want for a while. I'm always browsing Autotrader and Craigslist and thinking "Oh man, I would totally buy that."

I get you man, but it's never to late to buy the car you want. My goal is to at least once have driven a Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda, something that is an impossibility right now. Instead I had luck and found a great deal on a z31 which I am looking in to. So talk to family and close friends to find such deals.
And even though this deal is practically done I browse for cars every day, looking at different prices and still will after I have a car.
Such is the life of an automotive addict.

Shiban, what's it like working at Autozone? The local Autozone has a help wanted sign out front. I hate my job, I'm getting paid $10 an hour(actually it's only a dollar above minimum wage in Washington state), but even then I'm way the fuck under paid for the amount of BS I have to deal with day and day out. It's been 9 months since I was hired on, not counting the 8 months as a Temp before that, and I've yet to get a 90 day review. I'm supposed to be getting some "Security Clearance",filled out the background check paperwork, got a UA and a blood test, so I can work in the Data destruction area, locked up behind a chain link fence. I work in there anyways right now, but it's unofficial. For that position I'm supposed to be paid $12 an hour, but a guy I work with has been in there for over a year, and he's still paid the same as me. The managers always make promises, and never deliver on them. They work us to the bone constantly, this past month they've been pushing us to make a huge profit to get Corporate to give us more money I guess, so they haven't even been buying tools to replace the ones we break or lose.
[editline]3rd September 2012[/editline]
I can go work Swing shift with my brother, and get paid $12.25 an hour picking orders in a "Natural foods" warehouse. Still waiting on my 90 day review though...
$9 an hour is minimum wage in Washington?
It's $7.25 here, good luck getting a job above ~$8.50 an hour.
Actually it's $9.04. :v:
Gas is about 3.88-3.99 a gallon though. A 1 bedroom apartment in the ghetto is about $500 a month.
Yep, prices are around the same here.

Hmmm. I thought Autozone was a good idea because it might get me some hookups on chems like oil and stuff. But now that I think about it, there's nothing at Autozone that I want anyway apart from fuel lines and clamps and that's basically it. Their oil I wouldn't put in my car anyway. All their parts are shitty quality Chinese knockoffs.
It's like a large vending machine. Instead of a computer selling stuff to customers you're the robot. Customer wants something, you go get it. That includes being mistreated and having shit thrown at you for the shit Chinese parts Vatozone carries. For $10 it really sucks but its the only job right now that's giving me almost full-time hours and I need the money bad for my 240sx
I guess the only thing I like is that you get a diverse work environment. There is no day a like. One day you have a chill, easy going day, the next, you've got a wave of customers and their stupid complaints. You just get the parts from the shelves and give it to the customer that needs it. Pretty simple. Every Monday the shipping pallets come in and you stock the shelves. You take oil from customers to deposit it in the oil tank.
If you can do manual labor all day, you're golden.
Yeah, just checking out all my options. All my buddies have recently been fired lately too. :( The group of 6 people I was hired on with, I'm the only one left. My other buddy, he was my room mate for like 4 months, and I've been giving him a ride to work off and on for the last couple months, I heard got fired on Friday, but I left early to go through emissions. He doesn't have a cell phone so I don't know for sure. Another buddy who's been waiting to get hired on, just found out last week they were going to "fast track him", he didn't tell me how much, but he let it slip that he's going to be paid more than me. I've got no hope of advancement in this company. Just stagnation.

I love having friends who cant drive for shit, Kid who thinks his 03 altima is RWD swung into the dirt lot at my friends house and nearly understeered into my moms car trying to 'drift'
literally was like 2 feet from it
Huh, turns out i'm just blind and my heads aren't mismatched but in fact OEM german heads. I didn't really look too hard last time so it's no surprise i read them wrong.
But they have been touched by GEX (fairly infamous for being.. well.. the last company you want near your old ACVW). Weirdly enough, someone has tooled over the first 3 numbers of the casting number on BOTH heads. I believe they read 043 originally and were tooled over with 113, they're both valid numbers to be on a head but I don't understand why they would tool over one number with the other.
Anyways, that's good news i suppose. At least now i know my heads are matched (and stock) which means when i finally have the money to blow on heads, carbs and shit like that i know it'll actually be an upgrade and not "oh god what have i done".
edit:
why do people go to these butcher shops for cars/engines? i don't get it.. GEX is a biiiiig company but they are known for just doing hack jobs on engines, i can only hope that the engine has had a rebuild by someone with a clue AFTER GEX got their hands on this poor engine.
Any one here a fan of Nissan?
Story :
My dad bought a brand new 2012 Nissan Sentra 2 days later there was a package on his front door.
Nissan sent him cookkies. In a very nice tin can.

Gave my brother the keys to the Corolla today, unfortunately everything is closed today so I can't buy a bus pass.
My dad gave me my first lesson on driving his standard 2004 Audi A4 Quattro. I stalled a bunch of times just practicing starting from a stop, but hopefully I can figure it out.

This depresses me, I drove a 98 A4 FWD M/T I swear I had soo much fun in it.
Instead stalling plow your foot into the gas and release the clutch. :v:

Cookie container complementary from Nissan when you buy a new car with them.
I have no use or liking of Nissan. So I'm giving it to some one that would appreciate it more than me.

Learning to drive stick in the Audi isn't exactly my first choice. I would prefer to learn on a shittier car so I'm not super paranoid. It was bad enough borrowing my mom's Uplander.
how is driving stick hard at all

I though it would be a good idea to filter my 300km expensive redline mt90 (hardtoget) before refiling my trans.
75-90 in a paper coffee filter doesn't flow fast... close to: just don't flow

Thermal are you still selling the Supra or a was that just a rash decision in the middle of rage?
gotta fix to sell
but I have two choice:
tough out the two next month, then find a job as a tech in mech engineering and live my life keeping the supra but lower salary plus not achieving my dream OR
ditch the supra, live the hard fucking life for the next 4 years (I want my engineering degree) because of tuition fee raise (absolutly crazy, fuck you provincial gov), get out with debt but in the end I'll be a engineer so dream achieved and higher salary later on
