Oh god was so close to getting a big ticket today. I was going to work this morning, going about 80 in a 60, when suddenly I see a cop on a bike with a radar gun just up ahead. I slowed down a bit, but as I was getting closer to him I saw him putting away his radar gun. I shat brick houses, and the guy in front of me who was going the same speed I was slowed way the hell down and switched to the right lane. I did the same (so what if it's pointless, it was all I could do at the time :v:) and hoped he wouldn't catch up. That motherfucker caught up pretty quickly though, and I heard my heart pound as he was getting closer. He went right past me, merged in front of me, and turned his lights on and the car in front started pulling over. If he meant to pull us both over, I don't know, but I just nope'd and kept going. :v:

I need to stop speeding so damn much. This is the second time that I was close to getting pulled over, but someone else took the fall :v:
A friend of mine was in that situation in his 70 el camino with a 400 small block, but it was too late, as he was going like 95 in a 65, so instead of pulling over, he just hit it and ran from a cop for like 5 miles at 135 mph and then got off at an exit since the cop was far back. He hid under the overpass till the cops sped over and drove away.
I don't think I'd manage to successfully run from the cops on a 4 speed auto, 4-cylinder sedan :v:
Yeah you wouldnt do too well.
newer vics are limited at 120
apparently the older (early 2000's) were limited at 140 but had the possibility to lol a driveshaft.

Charlie is me.
I know a truck driver named charlie. I think he used to do drugs...

Oh cool, card acts like it's crapping out, turn it down to medium in BF3, and it's good. And now a driver update.

Is the card just possibly overheating?
charlie is you??
I didn't add you, that would be weird...
just found it through a picture you posted
Not a whole lot going on.
...
Except my car works! Turns over instantly, runs like a charm, and no smoke. There was a slight rattle but it went away by itself over time so it went out for another quick run up a hill and back to test the engine a bit and the brakes. I'm very impressed, and the noise it makes is unbelievable. I promise to get some videos out that don't have me making an ass of myself.

so... what?
today at work some girl brought her car in for an oil change
after i switched out the filter and shit, the upper tech asked her to bring her car up to 2000 RPMs for the RPM check, and she got really confused and mad.
i think her exact words were
"LISTEN I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE TELLING ME TO DO, I'M PAYING YOU SO JUST DO IT YOURSELF"
so he had to slowly explain to her what RPMs are and how to slowly bring it up to 2000
.. at which point she redlined
Where do you work? I thought all maintenance shops do everything, all the customer does is watch
i work at a lube/oil change place, all we do is oil changes, fuel filter, transmission, coolant and driveline services
oh and the guys upstairs change lights or something too
Where do you work? I thought all maintenance shops do everything, all the customer does is watch
probably due to some liability thing
It's not a franchise for a large company, is it?. Where I work we do all of that plus air filters, cabin filters, wiper blades, tire rotations, and rock chip repairs

Unless you live in Australia, which probably makes more sense. I only make $8 an hour, but it's full-time so it's not bad
So I get the car back from getting the crank seal replaced. Check timing. It's off. Adjust it but the distributor is as far as it can go now. Did I jump a spoke?
Also replaced a piece of damaged fuel return hose that was leaking and pulled out the battery to inspect some rust.
Reinstalled the battery backwards. 60A fuse blows up.
Get into cab. It smells of smoke.
oshitoshitoshitoshit
Spent two hours kludging in a replacement 60A fuse using copper wire and a 20A breaker and finding what blew up. Nothing seems to of blown up (?????) but my radio, heater, fan, and high-beams are dead until that fuse is replaced, otherwise the breaker pops and the entire car stops dead.

Working at $8 an hour full-time is the poverty line in the US. fyi. ( we calculated this in my econ class... fun fact?)
Working at $8 an hour full-time is the poverty line in the US. fyi. ( we calculated this in my econ class... fun fact?)
Luckily for me the only things I really need to pay for are car insurance and gas. The rest of what I get will be spent on stuff for my car, and lots and lots of junk food :v:
