I've learned more useful information today than I do in school.
I've even took notes on my own accord. (The word, not the car, no pun intended)
Guys need advice.
What's the best stuff/best methods of making a car not stink?
My car stinks.
Oh God help
I had a box full of cleaning supplies in my Celica for a month in the summer heat and it smells of pine sol which is really nice actually.
So lock a box of pine sol in it for a month and make sure it's under the sun a lot.
I'm kidding of course, I dunno.
find what's causing the smell, throw it away
or just cover it up with black ice

Stink as in interior?
If stink of fresheners n stuff your just going to have to let it air out.
If it stink from mold, n stuff... I would Steam clean everything. You know those rent carpet cleaners at walmart? Rent one of those, and do your shit.. Also remove your front seats, if you want to help clean more area.
Ohhhh Look under stuff and in cracks n stuff. My dad found a chicken leg in his center console... shit was nasty, but once we found it all the stink was gone.
Thanks for the help.
It's interior, I'm worried it's mold. I'll look into steam cleaning. Any other advice? I don't want my new car to stink.

If its a New Car than probably the only thing you need is a light car fresheners.
If its already stinky, clean it, steam clean it, let it air out for a week, insert air fresheners.
This is for a NON-Smokers car. Smokers car you can forget about it.
Second hand car. Only had one non-smoker owner. I bought it yesteday, didn't realise it until today because of windows being down but yeah, it stinks. I'll try sort out steam-cleaning it.
For the last hour I've been checking it and going back and spraying the shit out of it with air-freshener but I don't think it's doing the trick.
Going to be quite a challenge if it's been smoked a lot in.
solution: smoke in it
My car was supposedly a smokers car. I believe it too, since my dad was the one who smoked in it :V
However, somehow, there isn't one trace of smoke smell. I don't understand how. I didn't clean it out, and he smoked in it like it was going out of style.
I got use to the smoked-in-car smell when I was a kid so it doesn't make a big difference to me
plus I smoke in my car

If you like driving a Tupperware container, sure they are.

If it has stank from the fabrics, go get one of those rentable carpet steamer things. Proceed to steam the entire car.
Another trick I found useful was buy one of those refrigerator deodorants made by Arm and Hammer. Just pop one opened in your car somewhere. Sprinkle baking soda everywhere, ash tray, handles etc. Then vaccuum it a month later. It absorbs smell like nothing.
My car was a stoner's car so you get the gist. Now the only smell that's left is the overpowering oil burning smell. That's from the engine though, everything else is scent-less

From what I've noticed different kinds of cigarettes don't leave around that absolutely terrible smokers smell. This has an effect on people too as you'll notice that not everyone who smokes just reeks of smoke. I also figure it's also a result of people who are those nasty smokers who always smoke with the windows up in their cars and don't even have the respect for their own vehicles to crack a window. It probably has plenty to do with the former and most people never cleaning their cars, windows and just letting the residue build up on everything like people who smoke in their houses do.
My car smelled like smoke when I bought it, since I don't smoke often and would never think of doing it in my own vehicles the smell went a way in a couple months it just smells like a Honda now lol.
I've tried cleaning my own interior before with a green machine and it ended terribly with all the dirt just being pulled out and deposited onto the surface of the seat making it look even worse. I've talked to the local Honda/Acura dealer and they said they have an in-house dealing shop at the Chevrolet dealer attached to them which does detailing. The service manager told me that it would be around $100 for the whole interior to be detailed which includes them keeping it overnight with dryers in it and such.
Sounds like a total steal to me so sometime next month I'll be getting my windows tinted and interior detailed. Before that though I'll repaint my window trim, fix my door jam rust from a poor repair job and address the obnoxious exhaust rattle around 1500-1350ish rpms which makes me cringe every time I start the car.
After all that I'll hopefully have my license back in time to catch a few dry days to enjoy my car since I haven't even got to take it up a twisty road since last summer since it's either been down because the transmission was out of it or the suspension wanted to carve up my tires..
I also picked up some 4dr door handles which don't have the keyholes in them since honda locks suck ass and it looks better without them, just gotta get a can of my clover green pearl paint. I'll just climb through the hatch if my battery dies while the car is locked/armed. :v:

Ah yeah, I can use sedan rear door handles on my hatch to do a lock elimination as well. It's pretty cool but I don't want to do it because I do occasionally use my door locks, they've been hardly used so they still don't accept any honda key just yet.
Jap's old hatch though, that thing took pretty much anything that was vaguely key shaped.
I may just blow my money on a 5-speed swap for the Cressida, I'm so sick of autotragic.

My friend bought a manual Cressida for $800 once. He cut the springs to lower it. He painted the OEM wheels black. He then sold it to a doriftu kid for $3000.

oh man do it
do you have pics of your cressida?
I would do a swap to my 240, except the volvo transmissions can't hold much power, so you would have to put in a Borg Warner T5 + Some Fabrication.
The T5 isn't great either.

Maybe I should get paint instead. :v:
And yes, someone drew a penis on the hood.
the only key problems I have sometimes is every once in awhile the ignition will not give me my key
gotta flip it from II to I a few times to get it
I think it's because the key is so well worn. good thing I made a spare first thing after i got it

oh fuck you have the older cressida with the split lights
fucking love it
i'd say go manual, then paint it
The main problem with my key is that the ring to put it on the keyring broke off so I have to carry it separate from my other keys.
