the automatics that have these are pretty cool
my friend whom had the tiburon before he so graciously destroyed the entire thing used it to downshift so the car wouldn't stall out in higher gears (because the O2 sensors were fucked)
I should probably replace my o2 sensor soon
my service engine soon light has been on for ten months, for all I know I need to replace something else at this point :v:
You'll probably double your mileage too

oh my god what!
I did auto shop sophomore and junior year, too bad I didn't get my licence till my senior year. Besides I didn't learn too much in there.
i swear to god if I see the word "autotragic" in this thread ever again i am going to flip my shit so badly
It really is an autotragic in a Prelude apparently. I've never heard someone bitch so much about a transmission than when a buddy of mine who had a automatic Prelude. Automatics are fine in a lot of vehicles other than cars and in recent age have came a long way. Older automatic transmissions especially in smaller cars and the always in the wrong gear Ford transmissions, I've never seen anything but problems come out of them.
I physically can't drive my family's Mazda Tribute(Ford Escape) because it just shifts constantly when I drive it and I really don't like that. Another buddy's old Bronco never seemed to find the right gear when you needed it and normally resulted in him slamming it into 2nd and 1st all the time. I'd also like to see you take one apart and fix it, it really will be an tragedy if you were to unlike a manual which with understanding shimming and all that other magic is a cakewalk.
I see it as more of a liability of something which will likely go wrong much before your motor were need to be rebuilt/blow up.
I do rather like the automagic transmission in my mom's 2010 Civic though, it knows what gear it should be in and will get to that gear in a timely matter without just kind of sputtering around wasting my time and then shifts out of that gear when it's sure I'm done using it. I don't have to attempt to use the gas pedal in a way to convince the transmission to find the gear I would like to be in. It's almost like it automatically selects the gear for me.. It's also the only automatic I've got to drive which hasn't tried to kill it's passengers by shifting at very inappropriate times like a buddy's 86' Camaro tried to do a few times.
I've had no problems with my automatic tranny at all. It doesn't lurch when it shifts, and it shifts when it needs to.
[editline]24th September 2012[/editline]
All the supposed autotragic Prelude problems seem to be isolated to the 5th gen (which I have a 4th) so there's that as well.
omg i just got 3dsmax and this thing called zmodeler and i'm going to try my hand at making cars for GTA IV

Nah, it's a 911. Can't you tell by the picture on the keyfob. :v:
Sweet Jesus
We're getting a 1966 Ford Galaxy 500
Mint condition inside
Fairly low miles if I remember right
Freshly rebuilt 289 V8
Automatic
Outside is ALMOST perfect. One fender has a dent, the chrome grill is bent a bit, and I think the rear bumper needs to be re-chromed. It has 2 of the 4 hubcaps, but my dad and I both want to change the wheels anyways.
Don't have a real pic of it yet, here's one from online of a car like it;

I know it's not exactly a muscle car, but I'd like to go with muscle car style rims.

I wish I could get my ford on the road. :<
Fuck yeah ford lord

I never liked galaxies until now.
I think we are getting this one for $500 or so. I don't remember exactly how much.
My dad's friends with a local mechanic. I guess an old couple owned it and it started having issues, so they just let the mechanic have it for $3-500 (don't remember exactly.)
My dad went over and got it running.
We plan on fixing it up, modding it a bit, repainting it.
The book value is $3500ish in average condition, We want to keep total invested at about half that. That way if we decide we want to sell it, we're still ahead.
My 5.0 foxbody has a T-5, that thing can hall ass and also the T-5 is one of the easiest transmissions to work on.
;p
i have a t5 and its shit get a t56 or something interedasting
EvilSkydiver don't know nothin' bout T5 case flex, terrible gear alloys, play-doh shift forks, etc. etc. etc.
[editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
They're easy to work on because you have to do it so often. They're a cheap and abundant transmission but far from the best choice for ANY setup.
My freinds dad is looking to sell his grandads XY Falcon but it needs a resto.
looks like this not the same car:

They also own a Phase III GT-HO in original condition.

Wow, that's a bit rude. Don't come in here and be a total dick to me for what I thought was just explaining why the T5 isn't a bulletproof transmission as you're making it out to be. I generally have great grammar unless I'm playing around, and have been working on automobiles for a much longer time than you have I'm sure.
There's no reason to call me an uneducated prick and think I'm "playing you for stupid" when I am simply playing around. I try to be nice here, if you don't like how I post, there is always the option to block me. And I wish you'd do that rather than a blatant asshole to me over nothing.

dude GTFO this subforum if you keep it like that.
I though we made a exemple out of mightymax but it seem we might need a second
I learned reasons why we got the manaro(gto) in the US and not the aussie falcons.
Monaro was sold in LHD countries as well as ausland, so chevy already had a setup to reverse the drvie side.
Ford only sells the falcon (currently) in ausland and its only RHD.
Chevy also had to rework door seals and heating systems, since they are taking a car meant for a hot ass desert like area and plopping it in somewhere like Michigan.
There's other reasons too but those are some main ones for you to cry your self to sleep about.
[editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
I believe its brazil that had the manaro before the US, in a LHD config.
>Manaro
What's this Holden Manaro you speak of
But really, yeah, GM is all about being cheap as fuck nowadays. There's a country that had the Caprice LHD too which is why we got it as police cruisers this last year. Still hoping they bring that in civilian form sometime. We need another Holdenmobile here.

mightymax? he still talks about how you guys are all 'circlejerking ricer fags' in the facepunch chat channel in EVE online, it's kind of hilarious
also i rated you something because my phone thinks for itself and i don't know what rating it was so ignore it unless it's a heart

Mightymax is just an all around asshole, there's no reason for his blind hatred for pretty much everyone here. I don't know of anyone who knew him and still comes around that isn't glad that he's gone.

he a douchenozzle sperg
Look, here we are all trying to be bros and chillout while talking about what we share as a passion: CARS.
while it might seem easy to you, there's always this thing called: preferences, which in the automotive domain is incredibly vast. We try to keep it civil while sharing our differences. But being human means that it will fuck up sometimes.
While some of us try to keep it friendly even in adversity, some just go full douchebag and "yall a circlejerk for trying to keep me from insulting y'all".
so yeah, MightyMax be gone, evilskydiver you don,t want to end up like that faggot
ps: I'm not a good exemple because I'm on edge most of the time but don't worry. You are all motorized chairs bros
