the exact beetle?
[editline]26th September 2012[/editline]
or just one that looks like it
that one
So i finally got around putting my corrado back together
I wonder why the exhaust manifold was so loud, Turned out only 3 of the 8 pinbolt were left,
and the 3 bolts that were left, could be easily screwn out with my fingers... (jesus christ)
it also broke the threads in two of 8 pinbolts, so i had to make them M10 instead of M8 thread :(
But at last, my car sounds much more "damped" and feels much quicker when running in 3'rd and just giving it the beans from 2000rpm. (my 0-60 time is 6.6 second before i did this, hopefully it gave it maybe +5bhp)
Also i got around changing my valve cover, now i only need to repaint the Generator.

Hey Zotic, do you ever loose coolant from those Samco silicone hoses? How often do you have to refill them?
My passengers side windows doesn't completely close, theres like a quarter inch gap at the slanted end, and you can hear all the wind go in its fucking annoying.
It's power windows. How much should it cost to get this fixed? Its an old Honda Accord 2002 and i have zero experience/knowledge on cars so I can't fix it myself
My Passat got a new pair of eyes!
Too bad the shop responsible for fixing it can't figure out how to fax a sheet of paper, or it'd be in my driveway by now.
HIDs with LED running lights-- now I can pretend I'm an Audi!

Additionally, my aunt got me a bag full of miscellaneous stuff including a microfiber wash mitt, some goodyear glass wipes, fix-a-flat, cheap air fresheners and a lottery ticket (today's my 18th).

quick oil question, my service manual says 1.5L for oil level but it actually takes 3.3L or 3.5 US Quarts. WTF Toyota service manual? or am I missing something.

There's one kid I pass in the school parking lot every now and then and he has this old white integra thats on the ground, I don't know how he gets over the speed bumps, but it has gold rims and bright red racing seats and whenever he sees me he revs his engine at me, it's really funny.
that one
that's crazy!
pretty sure I've e-mailed him and didn't hear anything back :(. you should find out how many miles are on it ;)
my problem with that beetle is the speakers, it ruins the historic part of the car
[editline]26th September 2012[/editline]
yep, e-mailed him 12 days ago and never got a response </3
I've been reading up on left foot braking to induce oversteer in a fwd car, I'll have fun trying it out on the lake this winter :D
speaking of the beetle though, how difficult is it really to pull into/out of a tight parking space without power steering?
i'm kinda scared that once i get the beetle i won't be able to drive it well, or drive a stick (but i have faith i can quickly learn a stick, the steering thing still worries me)
with a car that light you wont notice it too much, you might have to torque the wheel a bit but it shouldnt be too bad as long as you can move a little bit.
with a car that light you wont notice it too much, you might have to torque the wheel a bit but it shouldnt be too bad as long as you can move a little bit.
what do you mean by a little bit though? as in, the wheel rolling a very tiny, tiny bit? or enough that if i'm not super quick i will back into something else?
Second day with a license and I've already broken a law (possibly two) and pissed multiple people off at the same time. There were people about to walk across a crosswalk at an intersection, and I don't know why but I didn't think to stop at the other side. So at this point I was in the middle of the intersection and I panicked, instead of doing the safer thing and stop in the middle before the crosswalk I drove through making sure I wouldn't hit the people walking.
On top of all of that I could see this lady driving a cab to the left of me and she was obviously pissed. I couldn't tell if she was turning and I cut her off or she was just calling me out on my shitty driving.
Yeah, that'll happen a couple times. Actually something like that happened to me the other day. I was turning left on green, at about 7AM, with the sun rise directly in my face reflecting all over my windshield. I could see the car to my left sitting at the red light, and I could see that there were no cars coming head on, so I went. Suddenly, shade, and pedestrian walking through crosswalk. She looked almost as surprised as I was as I stomped my brakes.
Hey, you didn't get in an accident, cause one, or kill anybody.
successful day
Hopefully I get better, it's different not driving with a parent whose job is to tell you everytime your fucking up and not being able to ask someone if your unsure about something

yeah I figured out pretty quick that my mom would be slacking in that position when it was my first time on a road with cars and she had me cutting people off because she was reading some paper
first day my friend had his license his parents sent him to KFC to get dinner for the family and he said it was absolutely terrifying to not have someone there to guide you

All the models that are included in the manual need at least 1.5L of oil, so you gotta add that and then add more from there
okay so,
fuck mpg's
going to buy a 80's/90's Mustang foxbody hatchback with a 5.0 and a 5 speed

I remember when my supra was all stock with a boost leak, I left a 5.0 in a cloud of whatever, those are effin' slow.
5.slow :)
its okay if its 'slow' I'm just looking for something faster than my pos sable
must be manual and must be fun, yes.
Like I said, 240's/supras would be nice but they're all riced to shit around here. Plenty of unmolested 5.0's
