Some other guy around here has an 86 5.0, its a p. nice car, just they're slow. Go for it I guess, I've always been a fan of them, just like Thermal Arc said, dont race with it or you will be laughed at.
still better than a V6 [editline]26th September 2012[/editline]
It's a one size fits all manual. All the models that are included in the manual need at least 1.5L of oil, so you gotta add that and then add more from there
except it isnt because it is a manual for the specific vehicle and includes directions for each engine. I misread and it was the amount of oil difference between empty and full on the dipstick.

Reason I said that is cause at the shop I work at, we always add 3.2L (or something like that) to Priuses, and then add more depending on the model. I assumed it was the same for your car
still better than a V6 [editline]26th September 2012[/editline]
why anyone would buy a v6 stang aside from the new ones that make 300 hp is beyond me. also the only people I race are my friends, and there isn't a whole lot of competition. There's tons of cops during the day, and my area is kinda scary/sketchy at night so I just stick to my friends/people I know. 2002 jeep liberty 2011 dodge avenger 2003 Mitsubishi galant 90's civic and 2001 civic Hopefully I can win against that list plus my dad owned one a long time ago and sold it when I was born so there is some family history with the stang too, I just hope its more fun to drive than my slushbox sable
went for a drive again today one, the rumble noise definitely happens in park, so I think it's exhaust related two, i really need to replace that plastic guard under my engine bay. that thing is fucking noisy with how torn apart it is
i say it everyone 87 and later trans am or camaro. 350 with around 220-230 hp stock. not a lot but 350s are great with mods
all the trans am around here are v6's ughhhh Camaro might be doable though
i do have a cobra but i also have a 5.0 mustang. it isn't the fastest but it's sure as hell fun don't listen to anyone and a foxbody would be even more fun
thanks brostang I'll grab a 5.0 as soon as mom feels like co-signing lawl, I'd also get one of the mid 90's cobras but I just really don't like the looks of the car (sorry :( )
Too bad those things have a face only a mother could love.
i disagree
Get an svo you plebe
There is no V6 Trans Am.
Found my old recipt from the scrap yard, probably from august or something My truck weighs 3800lbs with me and my stuff in it (empty bed) must resist temptation to strip interior and pull dash and remove bed
Heard those cars are dogs. All bark and no bite.
My autoshop teacher had a Notchback that could run low 11s. And evilskydiver has a Hatch with a built engine. Just because the stock car is slow doesn't mean a modded one is.
My autoshop teacher had a Notchback that could run low 11s. And evilskydiver has a Hatch with a built engine. Just because the stock car is slow doesn't mean a modded one is.
Yeah, I was saying stock ones. Never druven one myself, so EagleEye, listen to hell strike
There is no V6 Trans Am.
sorry, meant Firebird. oopsies Not many trans ams around here for sale. the ones that are for sale are going for 10K+, I just can't afford that on $8 an hour
The fox was a dog. The SVO had the most power all they way up until it was dropped in '87, and it had less than half the displacement of the 4.9 V8. I still think that was one of Ford's best moves, and reflects even today with them replacing their large V8 with a turbocharged V6. Good thing about the Fox though, is that if you get the 4 banger, you can slap a turbo on fairly easy. And if you get the V8, well you get a V8 so it's a win-win. After '87 they didn't even offer a V6 option. Another great choice since that was really rather pointless. Why would you want to get poor mileage AND poor performance when you can pick one or the other out of the box?

Hey, very similar 2.3L 8v Turbocharged Engines, with some of the parts being interchangeable.
No love for the mopar's :( They didn't really have any too phenomenal 80s muscle i think but you can get a 72-76 Dart/Duster for pretty cheap, the volare/road runner/aspen series of cars are OK, not much others, 72-80 shortbox trucks are cool too.
Went to junkyard in Los Angeles today. Listed five 240sx at the yard but only had time or managed to find two. One was completely stripped of everything, shell and interior left. I wanted to take home the smooth trunk. The other was this totally ghetto'ed car. Felt bad wish I had all day to scour the lot. I like the junkyard visits and I think the girlfriend is getting the hang of hunting for these cars. Scored a power side mirror her 240sx was missing and a genuine JDM tyte power steering cap. The one on hers belongs to a 200SX
Anyone know if it's possible/where to do it/how much it would cost to get reversing sensors put in a car? I'm curious because they'd be a cool feature. Car is a Holden Berlina.
Wow. My girlfriend's brother is tripping out that my GF bought a car, (a 240sx too mind you). He won't quit calling her and telling her that she made a horrible mistake with an old car. Keeps telling her you bought a broken car. He's really jealous that she bought a car, a car that he so sought after. He's so mad that he's threatening to come over here to smash her car. He's also messing with the car's registration because he's THAT jealous. I told my GF he might change the title to salvage; its a clean title and a clean car. What a dick really I feel bad
Wow what the fuck, seriously? What a good brother. Go over there and give him a stern talking to. with your fists
Sad part is, I'm not even lying. He's 31 and he doesn't even own a car yet, he relies on his wife because he spends his money on drugs and alcohol. When he overheard his little sister -who's 22 now- owns a first car, and a 240sx too; he flips out and starts getting mad jelly over it. She keeps being called dumb, idiot, stupid, dumbass just for a car that needs a tuneup. What, she needs new drive belts. What, an oil change and filter? New basic brake pads and rotors? A coolant flush? All the other parts that need changing have already been accounted for, we have all the parts right in the trunk of the car ready for them to be installed. They're all blaming me that it was all my idea. Goodness forbid my race, religion and dignity be criticized for someone else' taste for vehicular chairs. DAMN

I hope this isn't a continuous problem for you.
