Got 2500 in the bank.. looking for a truck. This is hard.
1980-1996 Ford F150 300ci I6 or 302ci V8, manual. 1980-2001 Chevy Silvarado 1500, 4.3 V6 or 350ci V8, manual. 1980-1990 Dodge D100, 225 slant six or 318ci V8, manual. 1980-1995 Toyota Hilux, 22R/RE, manual Can't go wrong with any of those, and I guarantee you can find one that's still got 150,000 miles left in it in that price range. Oh, and fuel economy is why I listed 'manual' with each one, the automatic models will get an average of 12-14MPG while the manual ones will get 15-17MPG combined. The Toyota is the oddball, it will do about 30MPG combined with a manual and about 25-27 with the auto, so if you absolutely must have an auto look for a Toyota above the others.

However, Ill look for those above. [editline]26th February 2012[/editline] Just looked for them - NOTHING. Absolutely, NOTHING. Fuck Minnesota.
I made a bet with myself that I would buy a car from 2000+ because we are now 10 years into the next century. However, Ill look for those above.
Lol, good luck finding a manual gearbox. Also, omit the Fords and Dodges if you search for 2000+. They're just not all that good, both brands hit a bit of a reliability speedbump around the turn of the 21st. Chevies are still good, and you can find them with manuals if you don't mind a 4.3L V6.
[editline]26th February 2012[/editline] Just looked for them - NOTHING. Absolutely, NOTHING. Fuck Minnesota.
Wow. I can't believe you can't find a trusty old pickup at all. I search for those trucks here in Tennessee and I find so many of them I couldn't decide which one I wanted to buy if I tried. Even the Hiluxes are numerous enough. Maybe you can locate a used car dealer that will call you if they come across one? The dealer we buy our stuff from will do that, all we have to do is let him know what we're interested in and for what price we can afford to pay and he'll call us when one shows up. Either that or you may have to settle for an automatic and eat the decreased fuel economy.

The only one I could find was a '93 Import listed at $13k. Just recently there was a Hilux Surf posted, for $5k. I live in a city that's mostly designed for Tourists, and it's not a very large city (Around 300,000 people) so the choice of cars is so shitty here. To find my Prelude I have now, I looked at every car on three different used sites for weeks on end, and I consider myself very lucky that I found the car (Someone wanted to buy it right after I paid the deposit). [sp]You can get the car you want here, if you're willing to pay. I wanted a 5th Gen 'Lude but the cheapest was 5k for a shell, 7-10k for a running one. Even the 4th Gens were close to 4k for ones that needed work.[/sp]
Woohoo colorado dd meetup
That would be cool, take a pic with the mountains behind out car's. Driving down curvy road's... But still brad need's to get his crap together and start organizing shit so I can request time off.
I need to organize my shit and get my car together first. Maybe I can find us a big parking lot and do some ghettocross or something for shits n giggles. [editline]27th February 2012[/editline] On the subject of that though

But still brad need's to get his crap together and start organizing shit so I can request time off.
the curvy roads here are the curviest [editline]26th February 2012[/editline] Too curvy, I might add. There are parts where you can easily lose control if you're going too fast and fly off the road. As a result most mountain curvy roads have limits of 35-40 mph
When I went to NJ to an indoor Airsoft facility about 1 mile off of it there was literally a road that curved for fucking forever then curved the other direction forever. All I could imagine is drifting it

I wish Canada was more densely populated, so hard to get things done here. It's 12-15 hours to drive one province over (Vancouver to Calgary). 5 days to drive across Canada. So the only plausible meet-ups have to be really nearby :(
Come to Minnesota, we're like the little Canada
Heh, I'd like to live in another Country one-day, but I still got another year of school come September. Work and School keeps me busy!
I thought i stalled my car today, and was blocking the road, so i was desperately trying to start it so i could move, but it would not start, it would just make a horrible grinding. At that point, my neighbor ran over and was like "Is the clutch in yadayadayada", and then he ducked his head in my car and saw that it was running :(. Panic got the best of me, i felt like such an idiot. On a brighter note though, i got $70 today. I'm trying to decide what i want to get most for my car, some new brake pads and rotors for the front, and whatever you replace for drums in the back; or i was thinking about that ebay header i saw... That sounds more exciting.
Is it bad that I kinda like the Donk song? I hate the culture, but for some reason that song catches me. [editline]27th February 2012[/editline] I also didn't know that Buzz Aldrin was a Volvo fan http://www.motortrend.com/features/consumer/1202_celebrity_drive_astronaut_buzz_aldrin/ [editline]27th February 2012[/editline] Get the brakes. You'd regret the header the moment your brakes fail.
