Since i have no other vehicle to drive, I'm forced to drive my truck around with 2 gears- Slow and Eh.
Although I can do 80mph in second, albeit the engine is at 4500 rpm v:v:v
I don't have a dash cam, unfortunately. If someone wants to lend me one I'll use it, though.
I plan on breaking into 14s, which isn't much but it's not bad for a stock D16A6 on some boost. I'm going to start a build thread soon, showing my progress towards race day. I'll take tons of pictures and stuff.
If you've got an Android phone you can get a car dock that will suction to your windshield and allow you to use your phone as a dash cam. One came for free with my Droid 3.

My second gear is good for 65MPH @ 4100RPM. @4500? No idea, my engine won't rev that high under load. :v:

That shit makes me mad.
"Pedestrian safety" is the reason cars don't have flip up headlights anymore.
Good luck finding one though and getting parts for it they're european models
Not only are they piss-easy to get, but I don't even have to get out of my computer chair to get them. The engine is also a bog-standard 22R, which Toyota used in...well, pretty much everything. The 2WD versions are also as common as any Ford or Chevy, I see at least one a day rolling around.
You can also get parts for them at normal parts stores, as well as any Toyota dealer.

Agreed. I don't want my hood getting ripped off by an airbag because some dipshit can't take five seconds to poke his head around the parked van and look for oncoming traffic.

A Geography teachers kinda turbo!
My old Geography teacher had a great taste in cars. He drove a very retro Citroen BX.
Like this...

Look at the interior!

The carpet comes up to and over the glove box lid and you'll find the tape cassette player beside the handbrake!
Citroen knew how to do interiors!

I think drivers here have a subconscious hate for minivans, I was going 50 in a 40 and some asshole was tailgating me even though the lane next to me was empty

I don't think it's subconcious. People pretty universally hate those disposable shitheaps.

...that's because they are too wide. Get those suckers back in the fenders, you're wearing your wheel bearings out prematurely and the spray behind you when it rains is several times larger than it should be.
They need to crack down on that shit in my area, so many people with swampers don't bother putting on fender flares and blind everyone behind them when it rains.
Oh, and lose the stretched tires, they're a blowout waiting to happen. I cringe every time I see them.

I wont be buying it today if I like it, i'm going have a mechanic look at it to see if anything is wrong with and if so how much it'll cost to fix. I wont be driving it myself, I started the process of getting my license late so i only have a learners permit
Front right tire has no tread lol.
In 7000 miles I managed to turn it into a slick

And it continues all the way through 8k before losing power
Im gonna be selling my truck back to my uncle, the guy we bought it from, and getting a ~1993 2 door 4wd Blazer/Tahoe. Don't know exactly. All I know is, it's been well taken care of and it gonna be fun.
And the only way i'd -ever- sell my truck is back to family. I fucking love that thing.
my torque ,most important number fyi ;), is 290ftlbs and it picks up around 3000 and stays strong until like 4500-5000 and i shift at 5500

Get rid of that fartcan while you're at it.
Why do people have them these days, anyway? Just the noise?

Haha. My powerband starts at 1100RPM and ends at 3500RPM. Peak horsepower was at 4100RPM, but it's since slid down the rev band as the miles have racked up. Butt dyno wants to say it's hovering at about 3500RPM these days, but since my tach thinks I have a V8 I have no idea.

275 FT LBs at 1600RPM here, with 80% of that available at just 800RPM. I shift at 1500 or so unless I'm getting on the interstate, in which case I WOT to about 2300-2500 and then shift.

loolololoolol
So I'll be driving 602 Miles on friday and the same again on the following monday. Half of it on the wrong side of the road.
Any tips for a long (At least by my and UK standards, the most I've done in one go is 210 Miles) trip like this? - I've prepared a toolkit and such. Got my headlight adapters and it's just had a service a few weeks ago.
Take a portable tire compressor, and a snow shovel if there's going to be snow on the roads. If you're going with someone then rotate driving every 3-4 hours
my parents are making me take a defensive driving course lol

And what Minivan do you have? If it's not a Chrysler, you're doing it wrong (joke). There's a reason it's the 12th best selling auto platform period. I find they have a very good balance between utility and comfort.
I dunno man, they've been pretty shit until recently.
Good news!

As a daily driver of one I have to disagree. They definitely have their flaws but they last for goddamn ever. I see like ten 97-2k Chrysler minivans a day and even more 03-6's. They are popular for a reason.

It's not like I don't drive other cars. And I obviously exaggerated a bit, but I seriously do see a lot. You tend to notice what you drive on the road a lot more often.
And I'm not saying Chrysler is ta bestest or that all other minivans are bad.
My mom has an 06 Nissan Quest. Would be a pretty cool minivan if you didn't have to stomp the brakes to start slowing down
