My grandfather wants to buy a Altima (2008). I'm trying to convince him to buy american (Charger or Impala)
Just let him get the Altima, jesus.
Fucking Buzz Aldrin drives a Volvo, and loves Hyundai and Kia because it shows how much Korea has improved since his days of fighting in the Korean War. That pseudo-patriotism is just being wasted on something as trivial on where a car was built.

That and American made is now 'American' made. It's either australian or canadian.
Even the Chevy Caprice patrol cars are made in upside-down land.
The Charger police cars are made in Canada, along with the American Muscle Car icon, the Challenger. Even the new Camaro is made in Canada. Canada is the Muscle Car capital now.
Ford's Fusion is made in Mexico... let's see... even your beloved Grand Prix was switched to the plant in Ontario after the bailout.
Looks like it really rather switched manufacturing to OUTSIDE the US...
But hey, the COrvette is still made by Billy Bob and Jimbo Kid in their back yard shed in good ol' Kentucky. So there ya go.
Also, there hasn't been a plant in Detroit for building cars in a long, long, long time. I think the last of them shut down in the 80s, might be a few parts warehouses still there but no cars have come out of Detroit in at least two decades.
more logic
You'll be happy to know that the Nissan Altima is an American made car. The Altima has been produced out of Smyrna, Tennessee since June 15, 1992. In June of 2004, the Nissan plant in Canton, Mississippi began producing Altimas as well
my camry i had was made in Georgetown kentucky also. two tacomas i had were both frrom the nummi plant in california, a joint deal with gm that was shut down post bail out, then they moved the tacoma to texas to be made with the tundra.
my dads subaru was made in Lafayette, Indiana
My sisters dad works in the Smyrna plant. It's a cool place, I got a tour of it.
They pay him well too, he has a two story house with a fully finished basement. He drives a 2008 5-Series, and occasionally some Harley.
mgear why is your avatar always broken to me?
They are pretty good looking cars, But I live in the "Live in America? Drive an American car!" life. I much prefer knowing that we back the American Brand name. Hell I drive a Pontiac Grand Prix now and refuse to even touch a foreign car. My honda accord only barely got my acception for being built in America even then I still didn't like it.
The Charger is a nice car so is the impala. The problem my grand parents have is the fact they live in the past. There son (My Uncle) had a group of friends he was surpose to ride with in a camaro (Back in 70's and now they refuse to trust even the 2012 camaro). The Camaro flipped over in an accident killed all 4 of them and car blew up. Anyway They are also Jewish so they refuse to buy ford cause henry was a antisemitic and the new tarus is pretty cool.
I'd call the Altima an American car.
Yes it has the obvious Nissan badge. But the company's so big it has its own divisions. So it's an American Division Nissan that's built in America. Designed & marketed strictly for American tastes. It was to be sold first to the American market, and of course, the few other countries that'd accept an American market car, a few years down the line. E.G. Barbados.

There is a 4 door model but the charger dwarfs it as far as looks go IMO.
The Dodge Charger is my second favorite Canadian Muscle Car.
I think the new charger is so ugly. Hell i think all the recent chargers are horrendous.
Atleast they have the nuts to back them up, most times.

I doubt he'd be getting a brand new Charger if he's paying the same price for the Altima. Different car classes.
His Charger would likely have this interior:

And would probably have the horrible 2.7V6 or whatever it is.
That other blazer looks like shit
explain, because other than the rims and lowering kit, his is literally exactly the same.

You answered your own question. :v:

It would be nice, you know, without the stupid lowering kit and the silly rims. My ,02.
Yep that about sums it up.
I also hate when people switch out their headlights or tailights for those horrendous like, see through ones you buy at like pep boys or whatever

I'm thinking about buying this air dam while it's still available. Should I? (The hood I've already ordered)
My car is metallic blue with matte black lettering, and I won't have those hood pins, but the rest would be the same.

Personally, I say no- I think the stock Thunderbird looks fine.

Pshh, just get a Subaru
Today the clips on both my rear panels flew off, so whenever I drive fast/ it's windy I can hear my panels smacking the car :v:
All these small "inconveniences" are starting to add up :v:
your car is turning into a bird
