Going to call a man about a blazer tomorrow..
infact just on the way home tonight i raced an eclipse as well as a piece of shit V8..
i want a picture under that car's hood before I believe you raced an eclipse with a V8.
I'm not just saying this. Rotary. Low Horsepower and torque unless you turbo it out the ass. Always gets less MPG than a modern V8, while still having way less power.

The 93-95 era ones are capable of being competitive with todays V6, Turbocharged Inline-4 sports sedans. But certainly not V8 pony or sports cars.
Power is not everything, weight is also a big factor, A turboed miata may only have ~200 hp but can be on par with ~350hp V8s Rotaries have low torque, not low horsepower, for a 1.3L engine, they get good power / weight. And the 13B-REW factory got a good 280hp, while still maintaining a light body compared to a muscle car. The engines may be different, but other factors cause the different outcome. So what you are saying is, instead of being neck and neck, the RX7 would've immediately lost?
i want a picture under that car's hood before I believe you raced an eclipse with a V8.
I think he means he raced an Eclipse, and a separate car with a V8.

I have a feeling the people he "raced" are just people like me who like to get to the speed limit as fast as possible
I have a feeling none of you have actually been in a rotary before [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] If none of you can take my word for it, i can honestly fucking care less, but don't patronize me...I know what my car can do, if you think rotary's are just piles of shit then fine, i really don't need to hear it though. I don't call your cars shit, no need to call mine.

And torque is super important, that's why diesel cars an still kick ass. 2,625 lb Is pretty heavy for a car with low stock power. Compared to like, the MazdaSpeed3 which has almost twice the horsepower and more torque while weighing only slightly more while having loads more features, safer, faster and way more reliable. Find a video of a stock one beating a Z06. You wont.

Not hating your car, I'm just saying just cause they take off at a light doesn't mean they are racing you. I literally step on the gas just enough that i don't spin the back tires then apply more gas till speed limit is reached or go over it :P

Versus a car almost 1000lb more at 3,245 lb which is actually light compared to the Camaro 3,750 lb and the 350z at 3,602 lb. That car is not heavy, and stock power does it well compared to each of these stock cars in power to weight ratio. Sure these cars may have 400hp but are heavy as a boat. The Mazdaspeed 3 Does not have twice the Hp of the FD, it has less, 230-263 Hp depending on gear. also FWD which ruins the car.
I have a feeling none of you have actually been in a rotary before
I like engines that don't need frequent rebuilds, so no, I've never been in a rotary powered car before. Nothing against the wankel, they're great race engines, but I wouldn't even think of having one in a streetcar. If I ever buy an RX7 the first thing I do is to rip it out while it still ran, sell it to someone who's got bunk apex seals, and stuff a Miata powertrain in it's stead. May drop authenticity and that sweet scream, but I'll never have to worry about the engine staying together after a hard romp again. I'd run a four-rotor in a race car though. Rebuilding it frequently is par for the course there regardless of engine type, and the lightness is of large benefit for a car that is intended for corner carving. Plus it'd sound like a damn grand prix car, which is awesome.
If none of you can take my word for it, i can honestly fucking care less, but don't patronize me.
:v:
Anyone in here from the Detroit/East Michigan area? When the cruises come rolling around (Woodward more than anything), we should get a meetup going. Just throwing the idea out there, they aren't coming around for a few months anyways
Did someone say rotaries? :v: Fucking html class is making me fuck up my tags.
fffffffffff
Did you do an LED conversion like I did, the dimmer switch on mine does the same thing. If it isn't that, take apart the IC and try to rotate the bulb housings (if they are wedge base) and see if that fixes the issue.
yes it's an LED conversion were my leds to bright and they got busted or something?
No, I am thinking the contacts of either the bulb in the base or the base in the instrument cluster not making good contact, or your dimmer switch is bad.
No, I am thinking the contacts of either the bulb in the base or the base in the instrument cluster not making good contact, or your dimmer switch is bad.
ive tried putting the LEDs in different sockets and different slots behind the cluster, and the same LEDs blink
