I don't care if it's considered tattling. It's a 15-minute drive across the city. No matter where you are, you can pretty much walk home. If you drink and drive, AND THEN BLAST A RED LIGHT, you deserve to get nailed. Not to mention there was two people in the car and neither of them seemed to care/notice. Fuck. [editline]26th March 2012[/editline] $4500 of damage? I guarantee that if it's older than 2000, it's a write-off immediately. Insurance Companies hate old cars and tend to pull them off the roads as easily as possible. They like to insure new cars because insurance costs more for them, and they are safer because the highest cost for insurance agencies is personal injuries. An average car will cost around $2000-$30000 to fix/replace.. Missing limbs, loss of life, etc can never be fixed and in a court case, can cost up to millions of dollars.
Its a 2005 Envoy Denali with 89,000 miles.
Should I consider buying this? http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/2922554530.html 1992 Nissan Sentra SR20DE 5 speed for 170,000 miles $1000
I need to do some more tlc to my blazer. I got busted half-shafts from the dumb-ass rednecks before me. Oh well. [editline]26th March 2012[/editline] still better than replacing the tranny in my GMC every year
Should I consider buying this? http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/2922554530.html 1992 Nissan Sentra SR20DE 5 speed for 170,000 miles $1000
good deal. Drive it til the wheels fall off, swap SR20DE into 240sx shell.
Its a 2005 Envoy Denali with 89,000 miles.
Tough situation, 05's can still cost some gwop but at the same time 4500 is pushing it.

I like how the 3rd digit on the speedometer only supports 1 and 2
nice burble
Just drove for my first time on a main road, it was easier than I expected except the concept if having a bunch of other cars around me was new

http://newyork.craigslist.org/wch/ctd/2923903103.html Yes/no? I'm dropping my hobby of airsoft and want to throw all my gear and guns into the market and switch to cars. This would be my first official car of my own and need one anyway to get another job etc
Mileage is iffy but it looks good to me. Expect moderately expensive repairs -- the 944/924 is like working on an audi, kind of.
Mileage is iffy but it looks good to me. Want something that i can have fun with. Expensive repairs are okay in a sense as im not pouring 10k into the car after buying it. So far i read it has some oil leaks that happen over time but what i'll do is when i go see it ask the owner if we can bring it to a random shop nearby and have them give me a list of everything that NEEDS to be done or coming close to it. Ex, they tell me the entire engine is leaking oil or the car is misfiring etc fuck it.
Yeah, you've got a good plan. You should definitely check it out, but don't fall in love immediately -- browse around a lot. You'll find whatever you want for the price you want to pay, it just takes time.
Purolator is going on the attack it seems. Maybe this will get FRAM to start making filters that don't kill engines?
Insurance Companies hate old cars and tend to pull them off the roads as easily as possible.
Main reason not to get comprehensive coverage on anything you don't have a payment on. I don't have comp on my F150, the insurance companies can go fuck a walnut tree if they think it should be pulled off the road. They'd total it off if someone keyed it. It's worth about $400-$600, a paintjob would cost about $1500. Go figure.
I want to build an alarm clock that is a small engine with an electric starter motor (Maybe I can get a strimmer engine and bodge a drill motor onto it) on a little wooden platform, basically when the alarm goes off the engine fires up and revs a bit, then shuts down :v: - Aside from the obvious filling the room full of toxic fumes I think it would be insanely cool... and loud. Would be cool if I could get some sort of 4-stroke engine that's small enough.
If you've got about six or seven grand laying around you can order one from Conleyprecision.com. Genuine supercharged gasoline V8 that you can hold in the palm of your hand. Supercharged ones make 7-10HP, N/A 4-6HP. If I had a lotto win/a six figure salary, I'd get one of those in N/A form(Only about 4 grand then) and put it in a 1/5th scale buggy. Coolest RC ever! Well, maybe not coolest, this guy is scratch building a Grave Digger around one. But oh well.
Pub quiz tonight, guess who's the designated driver...
The dog in your avatar?
Yes. The dog in my avatar will be driving us to the pub tonight. [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] Its called the pug mobile
Hah, My current insurance company want £3800 out of me for renewal. Luckily I got a quote of £1850 elsewhere, fully comp with £500 excess and European driving cover. Bloody chavs and their fartcannon powered saxos, corsas and novas :(
Is 370k miles way too much for a 1988 Honda CRX? It has 120k on the car but 370k on the motor. They're supposed to get good mpg but that just seems like a hell of a lot of miles. A grand for a driving shell isn't bad. I traded a CRX in similar condition for the '84 Corvette I have now :v
you know when you're driving on a one lane each direction, winding, hilly road, and the ass in front of you is going 30 below the speed limit, and you gun it and overtake them, passing in the oncoming lane, nearly clipping the minivan that appears at the last second and comes hurtling around the bend just in time to NOT kill you? yeah

I can't in to patience if the road is 60 miles long.

It's not hard to tell if the engine's still healthy or not. If those 370,000 miles are all highway miles and/or it's been properly cared for it's still got plenty of life left in it.
NEW WINDOW GET! 20 DORRA! [t]http://i44.tinypic.com/n478z8.jpg[/t] No more guessing if the street I'm trying to turn onto has an oncoming car or not! Yay! [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] Gotta love having FC Bros maing. Such a godsend. [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] Installed in ~5 minutes. Most time consuming part being vacuuming out the old glass, and even that was easy as fuck. Sweet design mazda, thanks!
That's why pass on straights.
I passed at the near end of a straight, prior to a blind turn. It was a stupid idea.
