My dad is getting our Jeep painted and he's wounder what it's like to have flat paint. Such as, how durable is it, what's it like to clean, etc. It's a daily driver. We live in Arizona so lots of sun all the time, but not too much rain at all. We also live on a dirt road so it will collect a fair bit of dust.
I had a 95 volvo 850. Really awesome car. It went through my sister, my brother, me, and my cousin learning how to drive. Its got almost 270k miles on it and still running. Oh and its been in 6 accidents. No mechanical issues yet.

Dunno why conker understeered so much. Sitting at stop corner (Next to curb) with traction control on. I stomp the gas and turned the wheel all the way to the left and the computer and engine were fighting while my dash told me i had low traction. Back end went out a little and it was minimal effort. If I turn traction control off it will easy throw its ass out
So they guy selling the nova removed the ad and didn't return my call... fuck.
Siminov, I don't know yet as I'm not getting one until autumn, and I will get it second hand. But if it does not come with a turbo, I am most probably going to get an after market one and install it.
You just made the awesome list, It better be one with a Intercooled turbo :3 [editline]29th March 2012[/editline] What I do is I use the trip counter, I already know I can go 240mi on a tank, so I fill up when needed instead of relying on a gas gauge.
My speedo hasn't worked in three years either. I don't even have the cable connected to it. :v: If I absolutely must have a speed reading I use a GPS speedo app on my Droid 3 instead.

You can tell quite a bit about people from their cars.

And I mean that in a good way.
So with me not having internet for the last 3 days I actually got something done. I called a lot of people regarding cars for sale and made some offers... and.... I watched a whole season of TopGear :suicide:
Turbobrick or NonTurbobrick? Also 850s are hard to kill.
Non turbo unfortunately. But it had a button to switch between econ and SPORT mode. Before I knew anything about cars I thought it would like make the car so much faster and would waste all my gas. I had a lot of memories in that car. It almost makes me want to get another one. My sister has a newer early 2000s volvo. It just feels so different. Cheap and fragile and I don't like the design. Its hard to believe they changed so much in 5-10 years.

Does advan RG have center caps, I can't find where to find 'em online
I'm not really sure if this is the right place (first time in cars board), but I thought I might as well post here. Anyway, I have been thinking about what I want as a first car, and for some reason I have my mind set on a 1969/70 Charger or Camaro. Does anyone have any suggestions/comments about this? I was thinking about how I would play my music but as long as I have a tape deck I should be good right (tape deck -> headphone jack converter?) Oh, and I'd assume that they have cigarette lighters (right?) Please don't hate me, I used to be a car person when I was younger but not so much anymore.

Unless you're parents are about to drop $50,000+ on a CLASSIC car for you to WRECK and beat the shit out of. Get a honda/mustang/shitbox, well the keyword here is Cheap. Get something cheap, beat the shit out of it, and save your pennies for your classic.

What would make a good first car? There's generally a large amount of used Pontiacs (Grand Prix, Grand Am, Sunfire, etc.) for sale around where I live, how are those?
There's generally a large amount of used Pontiacs (Grand Prix, Grand Am, Sunfire, etc.) for sale around where I live, how are those?
Terrible. Don't. Just look what they did to concur, he'll never be normal now.
Holy cow, literally I drove past one of the dealerships here in town and literally every car there was a late 90s early 2000s Pontiac something or other. To add on to that, nearly everyone in town also drives a Pontiac. What is this?

Basically I want something cheap, reliable, and won't completely kill me when I fill it up.
Honda Civic is your best bet then, parts/maintenance is dirt cheap, and most civics get 30+mpg. It's nothing special and everyone and their mom owns one, though, so it's something you should only get if the only things you care about is gas consumption/cheap price [editline]30th March 2012[/editline] Basically any Civic with an engine displacement of less than two litres gets at least 30 mpg, the civics with 2.0+ get a bit less (24-29)
