I have $700 right now, the dart shares the same windshield with a barracuda so I have that covered, I have a 727 trans and my grandpas 383 so I have a good drag drive-train, I have a drag shifter and a console so I dont have to use the column shifter, parts cuda shares the same rear end, I have some good seats lying around, should be good if I can get my dad convinced to get it, I can probably run it as is with some paint restorer or whatever if not primer it. Cant decide between black or red with a black vinyl roof. Agree for black disagree for red I guess.

The paint is in amazing condition and the way its painted it didn't come like that factory so it has to have been painted before. Was probably some guys mid 80s muscle car that he just left, the chrome is also really nice.
What would make a good first car? There's generally a large amount of used Pontiacs (Grand Prix, Grand Am, Sunfire, etc.) for sale around where I live, how are those?
Mine hasn't really broken anything expensive.
-more power than a honderp civic
-can pass people on the highway when you are bored of cruising at 65
-look at all the shit mine has been through
Good first car's, nothing special, but not intensely boring.

Even though they're Holdens, they still got the Pontiac badge on it. I mean, that's all that matters right? :v:

Noodle is just upset that mommy didn't buy him a better car after he wrecked the one granny bought him
Although his car was pretty good for a first one. Safe (for the age), and Reliable.
I'll probably just go with a Civic. They seem to be what I'm looking for.
Got to drive it for the first time today.

So I took it to the carwash and to get some gas.

It's almost scary powerful. The slightest bit of pedal makes it feel like the engine is trying to rip itself from the chassis and take off, leaving me sitting there in the seat like some sort of crazy cartoon. I have been babying it and still almost got it sideways pulling out of the carwash. Dat LSD/torque!
I'm incredibly happy with it. Hell of a motor, hell of a car, still have some bugs to work out but it's getting there!

Yep. Hate the sawblades. I need something else.
I really like those, would like to find another nice stock Corvette wheel to replace these with.

I'm actually really digging that vette brad. Always been into them, not just that gen specifically but any vette.
Unrelated, i dicked around with the retractor motor fuse last night at about 1Am after cruising through the night and got this, makes the car look more...personalized? idk. I like it regardless. Anyways:

Ignore the paint lines, it's just because the car was dirty when i laid the tape down, I'm not that bad at painting :/

Just needs a wash is all, but with the storm coming in this sunday it's not really worth it, 60 MPH gusts of nothing but pure dirt, and no garage? Nah.
Like two pages ago I posted a picture of A BMW E30 I was checking out for purchase.
Well I test drove it yesterday and it felt fantastic, better than any e30 I've ever driven, I want the seller to get it inspected and then I'll buy it. I'm SO excited to get this car into my life.
Posted a picture before, but here's a different one if anyone is interested.

I don't normally like American cars, but that is very nice. Cleaned up really well.
Spent a lot of time today with basic car maintenance. Learned how to change brake pads, and spent some time practicing my skill with removing/placing the wheels.
Also discovered two torn rubber dust boots?

They are located on that black pillar (couldn't find a picture with my car). Anyone know what those rubber things are, what they do, and how quickly should I replace them?
I drained my not so used transmission oil when I swapped engine, it's the 60$ expensive fully synthetic sort that I don't want to waste (read: I changed it twice before the winter (b4 the storage) because of clutch work).
Could I just use a coffee filter to filter the big crap and pour it into the tranny again. I understand why I would never do that with a old oil but this one is almost brand new, the chemical are still fine arent they?
If the oil has like no miles on it like you're saying then i don't see how it would hurt anything. I don't think it degrades over time, i could be wrong though.
Speaking of oil, my friend drove his mustang without oil, was supposed to check it 1 month ago c:
his dad told him to change it
i reminded him as well
CARS TOO COLD
TOO HOT
TOO COLD OUT
NAH
ITS GOOD
tonight he got home and his engine was spewing white smoke :v:

that's what I'm thinking too, I'm basically reusing the same oil that has less than two weeks of uses.
The coffee filter filtering is to be sure there is no crap from being drained in the same pan (although it was clean) that I use for my oil change.

Seems like there would be a shitload of contaminants, depending on how you stored it
If it was stored in a open bucket / container i would not use it.
Aka buy new shit and fell better about your investment's.
