I need to replace a head gasket for my T-bird and I was wondering if I should just get the gaskets or the entire upper-engine gasket set.
[editline]4th April 2012[/editline]
I ask because I'm a cheap bastard and I don't have a lot of money to spend.
Anyone got any experience on Baja Bugs? I'm looking at converting a 1970 Beetle into one for a summer project. The only problem is that the Baja kits are becoming increasingly hard to come by- although I've managed to find the molds, which was unexpected.

Get the full set. You cannot reuse gaskets, they simply won't seal the second time. Attempting to do so is going to set you up for a lot of leaks later on.
Traded the pontiac today
Got this in return

$1100
Jeep shall get registered tomorrow, unless i decide to get custom plates, then may be Friday.
Drove the Corvette to the store, still having CEL 42 problems, probably going to just get me another ICM to slap in it. It runs good enough to go to the grocery store.
Worst grocery shopping car in the world though. Luckily I don't have my passenger seat in it right now so I just lobbed everything in the passenger floorboard. :P
The new 2013 Viper looks trick. Dodges good design to shit design ratio is pretty nice when it comes to making vehicles.

I feel like they made it a bit less complicated and back to the basics almost. It looks much better.
So my friend got an S2000 and I was home one weekend from college, decided to go see it.
We were cruising through town, doing a few over the speed limit, and we pulled into a parking lot of an auto shop. Then we see the lights behind us.

My other friend who was driving separately from us managed to capture the moment :v: I'm in the passenger seat and you cant quite see me
The cop got him for "speeding in a clearly marked zone" or something but the cop never told him how much he was speeding by and he didnt clock him, so I think my friend is gonna fight the ticket.
Another reason not to own a sportscar. You get profiled even if there are other people speeding much faster than you are, which there were.
I normally dont post much here but, I just bought that car.

*got it for $2500
There are a few things that need fixing though:
New Tires,
New Mirror,
New door spring (passenger)
Nothing too big

That actually looks really fucking good. I just hope it's piss easy to turn off the government mandated driver's aids. Say, a big red button on the dashboard that says "Make this car fun". The Viper has always been a nuclear bomb on wheels, a car you drive to feel manly and have fun powersliding the rear tires away rather than actually go anywhere very quickly. Having the computers reign it in without an easy way to tell them to fuck off would ruin the car IMO.
I saw a viper on the way home from work today.
There was some pig eating a sloppy-ass burger, drinking a large coke driving it, car was running like absolute shit, belts squealing and all. Made me real sad. Always have loved that car.

jeez it's like a broken record
you can disable it, always, it's not a big deal to have something you'll never use

I tagged that wall more than any other. It was funny, i'm playing on xbox and got the most specific achievement ever. It was for "With damage on full, you made contact with the wall at monaco and won the race."
wednesday night meets at sonic
start at 9:15 in murrieta, off of margarita and murrieta hot springs
no one here lives near me or this, but still
someone will see it

If I leave now, I could make it there next week.

I got some achievement saying I should play Dirt 3 since I have a habit of drifting the cars in F1 2011.
Get my car back from the bodyshop today after a bumper respray and refit courtesy of the boss! Will hopefully look better than before as there were already a few marks and lacquer peel prior to the wall jumping out on me.

I also got that one, it's called 'Have you considered DiRT3?', and it's for drifting an f1 car for 10 meters or more.

That's like saying "ew she looks like a model"
New to this part of the forum, though I've lurked for a while. Hi.
I've had my license for about 7 months, only started driving a month or so ago when I started working again. Saving up for my first car and about 6 months of insurance for it, but no one seems to be selling anything reliable around here.
The only car that struck my fancy was a '79 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, which was in fabulous condition and owned by the same person that originally bought it. Only problem was they are asking $3,000, and I'd probably end up spending half my paycheck on gas every week.
There's this trendy yogurt shop next to where I work, and I see all these well-to-do highschool kids with really nice cars that are only 3-4 years old, and it feels so bad man.
Buy this caddy good sir
Problem is, I only have around 400 saved up so far.
Making 200 a week means I won't have enough money for it for months.
Car failed it's MOT today. God what a heap of shit. Fuel filter slightly leaking and middle exhaust has a major leak. Advisory items were both rear brake pipes slightly corroded, offside front tyre cracking on inside wall (only 10 month old) and nearside front inner CV boot split. Cunt.
That's like saying "ew she looks like a model"
which is why i drive a wagon
I found a dealer nearby that sells this Nissan 240sx sil80 with a KA24DE engine. All tricked out and stuff. Called them up, they offered somewhat below $10K. Also told me banks won't loan on such an old 1992 model.
At this point I'm really itching to get myself my own doriftu box and money plays a big factor. If I can get a monthly on a nice one, I'm set. I'm tired of these rich ding dongs passing me in their fancy ass BMW's that their parents bought them. What are good starter Japanese cars with lots of aftermarket support? I'm a poor peasant and I really need a car for work and I thought doriftu boxes are cheap to go
you don't want to buy a modded car unless you already know it inside and out
you don't want to buy a modded car unless you already know it inside and out
That's what I thought as well. I actually looked into building on my own frame and it doesn't seem too difficult.
The problem is the money and time constraints.

Lolwut? A slightly leaky fuel filter and an exhaust leak are grounds to put a car off the road?
What kind of derp-tastic regulation is that? The split CV boot is far far faaaaaar more likely to be a hazard than an exhaust leak and a slight fuel filter leak could ever hope to be.
