Well while we're on the topic of 80s T/A's, saw one today and something about how wide the tires were with the higher ground clearence, it just looked so badass.
I still want one.
With that same note, I almost kind of don't want a new car so I can work my way to a new car. I wanna get the 80s trans am and then get that 70 442

call the fucker!
Yesterday I remembered myself how fun it was to mess with the Kubota on the karting track at work... I need to go back there and do a burnout with my car again.
it was just a joke because my mom was like "aren't you worried about him killing himself with that much power" or something i don't remember it was like two years ago but i remember it was funny i might not be transmitting the funny correctly im sorry
Don't need power to kill yourself in a car. I smashed a car backwards through a wall at 50mph and rolled it over and that was with 112bhp...
A man doesn't have to be in a car to get killed.

>what's the MPG for a firebird
>here's all the V8 ones
They made a four banger firebird back in the day, same body style as the 85-86, that generation. It got 29 highway! Plus it was the Iron Duke, the bossest of four bangers. It was used in Jeeps until Chrysler bought AMC!
The V6 firebird from 93-97 got 28 highway, only one worse, but it's also a lot faster than the Duke. So it wins by default.
I always wanted a 3rd gen Camaro with the Iron Duke. I thought it'd be hilarious to have a 4 cylinder muscle car.
He asked for firebird/trans am mpgs. Trans Am = v8
Well they wouldn't reinstate the insurance, so I've had to phone my new insurance (That was due to start when this one ran out) and have them start it from today. £64 admin fee.
I'm going to get that money out of my past company for cancelling the policy without my permission, Financial ombudsman here I come (Assuming they are the right ones to go to).
I could have been out of some work today if I couldn't get it sorted.
I bet yea that they wont pay it because you signed a contact that, if you had read it, would probably state in there that they can cancel your insurance without your permission
Ok, I got $1000 for my birthday. I'm looking to purchase some old import for doriftu/daily driver.
Prospects are pretty dismal:
1990 Nissan 300zx NA 132K miles has leak in power steering system - couple hundred to fix
1986 Mazda Rx7 NA but has water mixing in the oil problems - possible cheap fix or super expensive engine rebuild
Damn it seems I cant even purchase anything decent with this kind of money. Halp D:
A grand won't get you anything decent, least of all a japanese RWD car.

Look for an old Police Interceptor Crown Vic.
You're going to want to spend more than a grand, especially on that rx7. Gonna need a new engine just by reading the description. Rotaries don't have heads, you can't just slap a new one on and fix your coolant issues, it's all internal. And these engines aren't exactly cheap, either. I hate to say it, but if you had to chose between those two, I'd pick the 300zx. But honestly you're better off waiting until you get a bit more money, buy something in better shape.

I live somewhere around Orange County, so here's a Craigslist listing for the RX7. From the description it seems pretty banged up, but hoping its just a flooded engine, doubt it though after I did some research on it
There are a couple of Crown Victorias up around that price range. Really I thought about imports because of the cost of repairs + aftermarket availability
Import, cost of repairs? I hope you aren't expecting imports to be cheap to fix. Local are cheap to fix.
Really I thought about imports because of the cost of repairs + aftermarket availability
Bwahahaha, no. Imports cost more to fix. I don't understand why that's the case given the import brands outsell the domestic ones in the USA, but it is. Aftermarket ability depends on the car in question, not what country made it. Since the P71 uses a Mustang powertrain radiator to rear wheels, goodies to make it go are commonplace as hell. Even converting one to a manual is piss easy, a T-56 slips right up in there with minimal fab-work and a mustang pedalgroup literally bolts right in. Suspension and brakes are somewhat harder to find but not impossible.
If you're dead set on a thousand dollar car the P71 is the best bet. You simply aren't going to get a RWD import that's driveable for that little.

They do have case seals that could spring a leak between a water jacket and oil drain passage, or between a water jacket and the sump itself. Case seals are much cheaper than a full engine overhaul, and given how simple a rotary engine is they're easy to install too.
Most likely though you're right though.

It cracks my shit up. I love it when guys who love their cars take silly pics like this.
Suddenly, pothole finger shoved into rims or clipped against fender due to suspension travel.
So i told cr-v bro that the only real hard part about manual is starting on a hill.
"So i hope you dont want to drive up any hills then"
hes so fucking stupid it makes me want to rip my eyes out, he thinks you cant drive up a hill with a manual transmission.
I CANT EXPLAIN IT
he drove up a sandy hill in his crv
and then gives me this smug ass look
SO WHAT IF YOU NEED TO DO THAT IN A MANUAL BRO?
/wrist
/rage
You should have told him, "Then you do it, whilst in a manual. You fucking idiot."
